Hi Smiler

I've been taking Logynon for about 5 years.

I originally started taking it because of severe periods which were so painful they began stopping me from going to school. They eased and regulated over the years but I remained on them up until now.

About a month ago I decided to stop taking them as Im worried abou the long term effects, in particular about whether they will eventually effect m fertility.

Already Im having problems with my periods, Ive had two since (the first lasting about 14 days and the other took aroun 40 days to happen, which I a aware is normal) both have been extremely painful and have made me feel physically sick.

Part of my is wanting to go back on the pill as I had no side effects really whilst on it and it regulated and made my periods alot easier, but the other half of me is worried about the long term effects and also about the decreased sex drive I seem to have whilst on it.

Any guidance at all would be greatly appreciated, sorry for such a long post!

Wink

I was taking logynon for about 12 years then decided to try for a family. I stopped taking the pill and was pregant the next month . I guess I was just lucky - but we are all different and the hormones affect us all differently.

I just wanted you to know of a "success" story of being on the pill for a long time and still manging to concieve.

Logynon was brilliant for me. I just wish my mirena coil was as simple and straightforward!

I too was on logynon for about 8 years and I too came off it at the end of May. I had long periods prior to going on it. They would last about 30 to 40 days at a time with a 7-15 day break. I was worried my periods would go back to that. So far I have had 2 periods lasting about 3-4 days. So it just proves that we are all different.

You should just see how you go over the next couple of months because it may get better. If not you should go to the doc and ask him to refer you to a gyne clinic. There may be something underlying. You need to ask cause the doctor won't offer.

I took Logynon for about 4 years till I had to stop using this pills because I had to make an Eating Disorder Treatment . I did not have any problems after I stopped using it, my periods lasted 5 days after that. Try to wait for a month to see if anything changes, if the periods are painful after 1 month go and see a doctor.
