I am hoping this is the post mirena crash everyone has talked about and I am hoping my supplement regimen will make these feelings short lived.. I jsut want to crawl back into bed until I feel excited and happy to live again... It was a sudden crash.. the past 4 days I have felt incredible.. almost manic... and now boom just crappy... no energy.. depressed and completely unmotivated... ACK>. HELP.

Yes, sadly, this sounds like the crash. But, you're well armed, ride it out. FWIW, I've now had mine out for 2 months and feel great. quote: Originally posted by jam [br]Ladies..The vitamin b6 and 5 htp combination had me feeling incredible on days 7-11 post mirena. today on day 12 I feel tired depressed and just generally yucky.. i never log on to these websites let alone register but i had to after reading the forum. i had the mirena coil fitted after having a regular coil for 5 years and the docs reassured me how good it was. But all i have done is get fatter and fatter and spottier and spottier. i work out 5 days a week, keep my food intake right down but am still putting weight on. i went to the doctors but they arereluctant to take itout even though i sometimes wonder why i was given it in the first place as i was 21 with no children. i am eventually having it out at the family planning and can't wait to get back to my normal self!

Mine was about 10 days, but that was mostly the mood part. The fatigue was just a few days. Keep doing what you're doing.

Hi Janette my dr refused to take it out i had suffered for 17 months... and still he wouldnt do it !!! i had to go to the family planning clinic oh my god what an experiance !!! my one here in Essex was horrible... full of young girls wanting morning after pill talking about their last abortion... also all sorts with std's and then when i got in to see the nurse 1st... she was very stern and not pleasant. Again she tried to persuade me to stick with it !!! i freaked out and started crying as i felt so desperate. It felt like no-one was listening to me !! i finally got in to see the Dr who surprise surprise did not want to take it out... they explained that the dr who inserted it must take it out as then they would have to pay back the money they had received in the 1st place. Again i was horrified... i was soo angry this thing could have been removed months ago but its like they were treating me as a guinea pig and just wanted money... once i had argued my case again !!! she took it out.... oh my god i am now 11 days free of this thing and feel great... i still can not understand WHY ? drs and medical profession are not taking this seriously.... just prepare yourself for a bit of a fight at the family planning and stand yur ground its well worth it !!! good luck Debs x

Hello Ladies! I am very glad to have found this board. For months I was actually concerned that I was just going mad! or had become the biggest hypochondriac! I have had mirena in for 18 months and it's been hellish! Like many of you I have had weight issues. I do realize it takes a bit to get the last baby weight off, but this is absurd. I am actually eating pretty healthy and getting moderate exercise while putting on the pounds! I have a daily headache, how annoying. I have acne! I never had GREAt skin but this is BAD. Seeing that I'm 25 it's very embarassing!! I also have had very severe dizzy spells. Sometimes it's so bad i have to lay down and it will last several hours without letting up! My moods haven't been wonderful either but who could be so cheery while feeling crappy everyday? I met a new midwife, she's part of an ob/gyn practice, and when I spoke to her just about the headaches she informed me that it has nothing to do with mirena. any probs I have would be "local". Funny considering that even the mirena company will at least recognise there are side effects. She totally blew me off so I didn't even bother to try to talk about the other issues! Needless to say, I have an appt in April to hace IUD removed but may end up calling for a sooner day. I am not going to be TTC until July but I want my body to have some time to recover and return to some kind of normalcy before I get pg. I have also heard that because it thins out your uterus that if you conceive right away there is a greater chance of losing the baby. I have heard women speak of these experiences on other boards so thats's another reason i'm waiting to TTC. I want my uterus to be in good enough shape to hold a baby. Thanks so much for letting me prattle on. Gosh, it felt good to compain about this to women who will at least validate my problems and not dismiss me.! ]

Hello again! I am due to go in Monday afternoon for a vaginal ultrasound to figure out where the heck this stupid mirena is! Noone can find the strings and I hope its not imbedded somewhere and I need to have surgery. I'm hoping to get more advice for what to take/expect after its removed and this board has been a tremendous help with that so far.[:I] I feel so bloated and full all the time. Almost like the Pillsbury dough boy ] Hope to have all this resolved in the next week.

hello, stingray here i'm having mine out on the 5th, under a general anestetic as it's stuck. had visions of gushing immediately, it's interesting what you have said. we have two kids and don't want any more. i've had 2 coils in 10 years and am a bit worried about having a period again. i'm not having another put in as i want to see if the constant pmt lifts. i can't remember if was any happier 10 years ago or not, as several moves, 2 kids and lots of other stress has happened in between. do you feel different now yours is out?

thanks for this, i'd wish i'd known about this 10 years ago when i had my first "marineville" (as my husband and i refere to it) shoved in! My previous doctor denied that it was causing pmt and even though i had my doubts. i was going to have a new one shoved last wednesday but the old one is know embedded in the womb. did anyone else have to have a general anestetic to get one out, and if so was there any problems? i could do without this as the appointment is the easter hols and we've had to organise childcare, hubby get time off work and find someone to pick kids up from childcare (have not sorted that one yet) i've also got an interview soon, which i hope is not on the same day, i've decided to keep appointment as this issue is begining to play on my mind, i've never had a general anestetic before. any words of wisdom will be most welcome, thanks for all your support girls, love from Singray

Hello there all, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im 36 yrs old and I had my first Merina fitted in May 1997, so I was 27/28 yrs old and my second in May 2002. Shortly after the first was fitted, I found that my husband had been having an affair. OK!, so at first I was devastated, but hey, who can blame him. We were still young and I was not interested in sex. Prior to the Merina, I couldn't get enough!. Since then, i have had sex for the sake of having sex and making my husband feel loved. Its not cos I feel sexual, I have no sex drive at all. Unlike others, I never gained weight. Infact over the past few years I have lost 3.5 stones, to be the size 8 that I always dreamed of being. Should feel confident and sexy, hey? Oh, NO!, not interested. Have been on anti depressants on and off since 1997 and have been on them continually for the past two years. Recently found this site and am now wondering if my lack of sex drive and depression are due to the Merina. All thoughts and feedback very welcome ladies, I need your help as soon as possible x
