I had my mirena taken out on March 30, started my period a couple of days later and ovulated just soon after. About 3 weeks later I became very sick one day with a temp. and then bled extremely heavy for 3 days......my doctor said that it was probably a miscarriage. I had a normal period the following month that started on the 12th, beginning with light spotting the first couple of days and then bleeding for almost 6 days and then I ovulated. This month I started with my regular light spotting on the 11th. Spotted a couple of days, nothing for two days and spotted very little one more day. I have been very nauseas,a little bit of cramping, dizziness, my feet and hands swell up sometimes. I had sore and swollen breasts the first couple of days but they are no longer sore.I never started my period so I took two pregnancy tests and they were both negative. Is my body still screwed up from the mirena or what. I'm so aggrivated and yes I'm trying to get pregnant.

Hi all

I had my Mirena removed 14 July 2009, after 5yrs, I had slight spotting on day three that lasted on off for 2 days. On the 12th August I had a brownish discharge and thats it! Before the mirena I had very heavy periods that would last 5-8 days, and while it was in place I had no period for five blissful years, not even any spotting in the first few months. But now that it's gone I am waiting and nervous but theres nothing. During the five years it was in place I was unaware of any side effects untill I started looking up how long it was taking people to fall pregnant after the removal, when I came across sites listing all of these side effects people had been experiencing. Suddenly I had an explanation for all the things I had just put up with and had never connected to the mirena, bad skin, fatigue, weight gain, back pain. I would love to fall pregnant again soon, I have two chidren now a 8 y/o bot and a 5 y/o girl. At the time of removal my Dr told me I examined normally and should have no problem falling pregnant, I fell pregnant both other times on the pill as the dose wasn't strong enough for me... It is so nice to know your not alone in this insanity though, and to know I'm not as crazy as I thought.

I had my Mirena for 4 1/2 years. Until last year it was great. I had problems and my dr did a ct scan. They found 2 cysts on my left ovary. I never had a problem until then. Since then I have cramps like no other, fatigue, and every other problem you can imagine. I had the Mirena removed on June 2, 2010. My dr gave me the Nuvaring. I took it out. I don't want any more birth control. I am hoping to get pregnant again and have my tubes tied then. I have to have c-sections anyway. I too like alot of you are waiting for a period. I never bled on the Mirena. I barely bled when I had it put in. I didn't bled in the least when it came out. My cramps and bloating went away the first day I had it removed. But they have since returned. I am noticing the longer some of us had it in the more issues we had or have. And the longer it takes to get a period. They also say you can get pregnant right away. Now is that really healthy? The Mirena has medicine in it. Wouldn't that maybe hurt the baby? I am no dr but I am scared to try right away. My dr did tell me she wanted me to have a couple periods before I tried. Just to make sure it's all out of my system. Just a food for thought for some of you. Best of luck to all of us, LOL.

Hi All, I had my mirena coil removed exactally 4 weeks ago. The pains I am having are unbelievable and yet still no period. We are actively trying for our 4th child and I have done a preganancy test which was negative. I had my coild fitted 3 years ago and haven't any periods in that time. My doctor says everyone is different but it can take upto 3 months for periods to resume to normal. When it arrives I will be sure to keep you informed.

hello ladies Thought i would up date you all on my progress. After having my coil removed on 15th of May i had no bleeding/spotting at all untill 6th of June (3 weeks after) I calculated that my next AF should arive on the 4th of July which came and went. I was experiencing some early pregnancy signs so tested with a HPT on 9th. Negative result! Frowner I thought i was loosing my mind as i was genuinly experiencing sore breasts, i was really tired, i went of some foods. but still negative tests. Then Bam! my AF arrived 10 days late this morning! so my bf and i are slightly gutted but going to try even harder Wink this month....wish me luck!

Well its been 5 weeks now and I have finally got my 1st period 2 days ago. Im just hoping now that pregnancy happens just as quick.

To those who ask can you get pregnant pre removal of the coil, apprently the answer is yes you are NOT suppose to have intercourse upto 7 days before removal.

Hi, I'm new here! I had my mirena coil in for roughly 3 years, i had it removed on Tues 20th July because of trying for a brother/sister for my 5 year old daughter, had absolutely no bleeding at all straight away, have been trying to get pregnant, then had sore huge boobs, bloated stomach, was crying at everything, headaches, chronic tireness and a strong appetite so i thought i had been one of the lucky ones and become pregnant in the first month, started what i first thought was implantation bleeding on the 5th August but it got heavier and i think settled into my first period, and i had a negative result for pregnancy test a couple of days ago. Am now going to try and track my ovulation and get pregnant this month!
I still feel very weird, bloated, tired and pregnant...I guess it's just hormones!!
Good luck everyone!
C xx
