Hiya, im new to the forum. I have had the mirena for 7 months now, and although its done wonders for my period problems it has caused me to start suffering from terrible panic attacks... I was wondering if anyone knows if it is ok to take the Bach Rescue Remedy drops with the coil, as i dont want it to interfer with the coil!!

Any advice would be great!!

Thanks!! [Big Grin]

I had the Mirena for nearly 6 years and have suffered with anxiety and panic attacks all along. My Dr said it was nothing to do with the coil and just that I am an anxious individual....anxiety doesnt give you sore boobs for 22 out of 28 days though plus bloating, pmt, period pains and severe mid-cycle ovulation pain. I tried allsorts for the panicky feelings and the best remedies have been Bach rescue spray, Kalms tablets (valerian is a proven calming herb ) and hypnotherapy cd from ebay!!Sorry this is a late reply but it may help someone else. I am sceptical about alternative therapies as I am a nurse and rather science orientated but these DO work.

I had my Mirena removed over 18 months ago because of increasing palpitations/panic attacks! They eased slightly for a couple of months after removal but now they are back with a vengeance!!! They are often worse around ovulation and then a couple of days before my period! However, some months, they last ALL month! My GP will not admit that Mirena had anything to do with it and has just made me have a 24h ECG - results awaited! I am hoping this will find nothing wrong so that I can get referred to a Gynae specialist!

The Mirena coil is a nightmare and GPs should stop being so quick to recommend it! Mad

Hi LisaHB
Your right the merina coil is a nightmare, I was so glad to have mine removed. Just wondering if you would post back when you get the results from the ECG to see if it did have anything to do with the merina. Good luck.
