Hi karli... I've just pm'd you. I hope your grandfather is still doing ok. My dad lived nearly 6 years after his diagnosis (was 51 when diagnosed and his Dr reckoned he'd had it maybe 10 years before diagnosis!) in Jan 2000. I forget what his gleason was at diagnosis... I just know it was advanced and it had already escaped the prostate. He had hormone therapy... Zoladex and a couple of others as well as a new type of radiotherapy being trialed at The Royal Marsden. He also had chemo in his last 18 months. As time went on he had problems with his kidneys and bones and in the last year he was also found to have many brain mets. He went on a few drug trials at The Royal Marsden. Sadly the last one almost finished him off and he had to stop part way through. xxxxxxxxxxxx
