Hi - my son (almost three) has just started to refuse to wear anything with buttons. Gorgeous cute pyjamas and cute cardies are definitely out. I spent a while looking this up on the net and came across lots of other people with the same dislike of buttons - children and adults alike. As a journalist, I have now decided to write an article - which has been commissioned by a newspaper - on this subject. and I'm looking for other mums to interview on this subject. Does your child have a fear/dislike or phobia of buttons? If so I'd love to hear from you. If you agree to be interviewed, even better. But for now, please just get in touch. There's a fee for any story used. Please email me kim_a_jones@hotmail.com Thanks!

hi my son is now 3, since he was 1 and a bit he has had a phobia of buttons and it is getting worse. he will not wear them at all, he cant be near anyone else that wears them, now if he sees them on tv he wants the channel changing. yet he will hold buttons. i am very concerned as its coming up to him starting full time school and i know some kids can be cruel. and if my son had to go in a uniform with no buttons whist other children had them they may well pick on him and im so worried about this. ive contatced my health visitor for advice but she has never heard of a phobia of buttons. does anyone know of a treatment centre for phobia of buttons in the lancashire are? please help if you can. thanks

Nehemiah I have registered on this site to reply to your message. I notice it is nearly 1 year ago since this was posted so I don't want to go into a lot of detail in case you no longer visit this site. My son also has a button phobia and he is 16, we have found lots of ways around this and it has not been a problem at school. I am also in Lancashire.
