Hi Jamie,

I'm on day 13, doing Lighterlife at the moment but switching over to CD next weekend!

There's plenty of info on this forum, but get over to here as well:

http://www.cambridgedieters.com/forums/

Mostly barking mad women over there, but they are very helpful [Wink]

Good luck, you'll be fine!

Cheers,

Tim.

Tips....

1st week is hard - but keep at it. If you've finally made the decision this will change your life for ever. If you are just trying this as 'another' diet - don't waste your money. I started this on Oct 23rd, I'm 5'8" and was 19st 4lbs, I'm now 13st 13lbs.. i.e. 72 lbs in 92 days.

A chap called Mike has blogged his way through - makes for good reading at www.mylighterlife.co.uk

thanks for the info, end of day 1, going through cold turkey, feel thirsty even though I have drunk enough water to sink a battle ship

the banana bliss drinks are a bit grim ,soups are ok and the choc bars are not bad,

I intend to get there this is not another diet this is the last diet, I hope I will be still as determined at the end of the week

main problem is have to redo social life as it revolved around eating out or entertaining at home, so not going to do much other than cinema over next few weeks, staying away from temptation as much as possible

speak soon

Jamie

Jamie

I had to cancel 11 functions in the run up to Christmas and as I sit here and type in a hotel in Newcastle the rest of my team are out on the pi$$ 5 miles away at the Quayside.

It gets easier, trust me.

Sorry to but in on the mens thread, but couldnt help reading your post Jamie, firstly well done on making the decision to start the Cambridge Diet..... please anyone correct me if I am wrong but you said you have only just started, you really shouldnt be having the bars, these are not officially allowed for the first 2 weeks, altho I do let my clients have them after a week as long as they are showing signs of ketosis! just wanted you to know in case you were not told...

The lady is right, by the book. My view for what it's worth is that you should lay off until you reach ketosis (you can check with the strips) and then stick to one a day.

I used to live on the Lighterlife ones without too much trouble but the CD ones are higher in Carbs etc. In my first week after switchover I had three a day for the first two days and dropped straight out of Ketosis.

It does vary from person to person but you are about the same weight/height as me.

I started CD on Monday and like you, apart from some headaches am finding it fine.

I didn't get any bars for my first week, my CDC explained to me when I could have them.

Again, like you, I have become a weighing myself saddo - I'll just have to overcome it.

If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend you visit a blog by a chap called Mike who has been going for over a 100 days with fantastic results. The blog is very well written and most importantly lets you have advance notive of how you might feel (certainly I can relate to it) at certain stages.

His blog is at http://mylighterlife.iblog.com/

Good luck mate

Jamie your counsellor can check if your in ketosis for you with the sticks, but you can buy them from all good chemists....the classic signs of ketosis is usually your mouth tasting like the inside of a bird cage, and the physical hunger just isnt there anymore.....we can always imagine we are hungry tho, there is a little chatterbox that most of us find in our heads that plays constant games with us, just tell it to go away......you can do this, keep us all informed....
