Hi everyone, Got a few concerning questions that i'd like to hear some views on.

Basically, To cut the crap, i have a sort of redish rash type problem on my pubic region. I do regularly shave that area, and I've read on multiple websites that it is normal, because it is just the hairs re growing.

I don't know if this would relate, but I've had achne on my back for about 2 years now and I take anti biotics for it and it is finally clearing up. I rarely get spots on my face though.

I get the rash quite badly though, and mixed with either lots of small dots or big dots. After a while the rash starts to fade as the hair grows back, but what concerns me as that 2 or 3 spots, like white head type ones remain. They are the same as white heads as when i squeeze them the same happens....

I started sex when i was 16, for a patch of about 5 months up through my 17th birthday and to around the start of this summer. These problems have started about half way through this period.

It is very concering as i've not had anything checked out at a clinic and its been quite a while. Do these symptons match anything?

Thanks

I'd be highly surprised if it's anything more than ingrowing hairs caused by shaving. Red spots/rash are quite common in shaving, especially in areas like the pubic region where the hairs are thicker and coarser. The white heads you describe are ingrowing hairs that have become slightly infected.

I'd suggest stopping shaving until the rash goes. Then, in future when you shave, make sure the hairs are short (don't try to shave off long hairs), and have a warm bath or shower first to open the hair follicles. Use a gentle shaving gel when you shave, and don't wear tight clothing afterwards.

Finally, I always think anyone who is sexually active, especially those not in a long term relationship, should have a regular STD check. It's unlikely IMO that this is anything more than shaving rash, but perhaps you should think about making an appointment to have a check.

Hope that helps
