Doesn't help their discomfort but for blocked nose we used saline nasal drops (clears nose), my 5 month old has just had similar symptoms for a week - squirt the solution up the nose -a bit nasty for the wee ones for a moment or two but helps clear the snuffly nose. Hope this helps.
