Hi everyone

Right I'm trying to persuade DH to let me get Jake one of these

Activity station

The offer finishes today so I need to act fast. He says they take up too much room and are too expensive - Scrooge!

The physio Jake sees said he can't have a walker or door bouncer as prem babies have poor muscle tone and these will make it worse. I thought this would be a good substitute as he loves being up on his feet.

Any opinions? Anyone got one?

Thank you
Mandy xxx

HI I would say that if he cant have a bouncer or baby walker then he needs something and this looks fab, I had walkers for 2 of mine and they loved being up right. Also if you keep the box it comes in then you can store it for next baby OR sell it on after you have finished with it. Deffo a thought if hubby is being stingy with money Smiler

Happy Shopping!

Mandy,

My friend bought exactly the same one for her little boy as he had chronic reflux and breathing problems and being upright helped him loads. There is no pressure on their little legs as they are supported by the seat.
She said it was the best thing she ever bought James, and he was so much happier in it because he could see what was going on, as well as helping with his breathing!

She also used to feed him his bottle in it sometimes, because he was upright and not laying down it helped with the reflux!!!!

Good luck persuading dh, but I think it's money well spent! Especially if it makes Jake happy...........!!
(Emotional blackmail works wonders!!!)

Ps, Jake is soooo cute! xx

Hi Mandy

We bought our DS an activity station when he was 6 month and it was one of the best things we ever got him he absolutely loved it. ours was this one though:

http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Product.aspx/BruHome/BruActive...ckersBouncers/731617

he had a door bouncer too but soon got bored of that, he'd dance around in the activity station for ages though and cried when i took him out!we didn't have the space for a walker and although these are big at least they stay in one place. yes they're not cheap but well worth the money for the use you get out of them.

good luck persuading your DH!

Well how annoying!! Mad DH woke up with a total change of heart and said he thought Jake should have one if he would like it Smiler So he drove us to Wakefield Toys r us and they were out of stock so we went to the Leeds one and out of stock too Frowner But they have them online so I'm going to order one now Smiler

I'm glad everyone thinks it is a good purchase! I think it will be a while before Jake's walking so being upright will be fab for him!

Lorraine - good plan on keeping the box. It will be stored away in a few months no doubt in case we ever dare TTC again!

Oooh Nicki I hadn't thought of the benefits for reflux! It is one of Jake's problems although not too severe, wheezing is also another so if it will help either of these it will be brilliant! How is little Katie? I'd love to see a pic of her I bet she is gorgeous!

Kalyjade we saw that one today. It did look really good but I think they had it set up wrong in the shop! The leg holes were by the back rest instead of the other way round IYKWIM! I tried to put Jake in it but he just hovered about 6 inches off the ground. I'm sure it was set up wrong though. I can't believe you are nearly 31 weeks pregnant! I remember stalking your due in thread when you were pregnant with Oliver!

Thanks again everyone I'm going to order it straight away!

Hey you!!! What a gorgeous boy!

Ella has one exactly like the one you bought and she loves it! Even now when she's cruising she goes along the outside of it and plays with it still. I also still use it to keep her somewhere safe when I take a shower, etc. I use it more than the playpen! Ella never had a door bouncer - just the activity centre.

Well hello Miss Stacey - long time no see Big Grin

It sounds like Ella is doing really well and she is looking very cute in your pics! Look at her cruising around the furniture - she'll be walking before you know it! I can't believe there is only 2 months between Jake and Ella it seemed like I was on 2ww ages after you graduated! Mind you he was due about 5 months after her wasn't he!

Hope you're okay and enjoying being a Mummy xxx

Hi Nicki

Katie is so gorgeous and so so tiny! I have forgotten how tiny Jake was already - they are so lovely when they sleep on you like she is on her Daddy! Ben is looking very grown up on his drums. Is it his birthday today? I hope he has enjoyed it

Hiya Mandy,

Yes, Ben was 6 today, I can't believe I'm the mum of a 6 year old. I don't mean to sound patronising, but enjoy every minute of Jake, they really do grow up so quickly. It only seems like 5 minutes since he was Katie's size.

Thanks for your kind words about Katie, she is very cute, and little. Even her features are little! I just don't want her to grow up to soon!

Anyway, I'm glad little Jake is doing so well. Hope he enjoys his new toy! Big Grin
