Congrats on getting your red book Liz about blinking time i would make them put all the weigh in's down, gr8 weight for your little man!!!

Yes Caz Joel has pedro boots although i did buy him a pair of trainers a couple of weeks ago he is allowed to wear them thankfully but can't wear pedro boots until he has fully healed with his blisters they were from his insoles but i have to say he never complained about his feet bless him he got one blister but then when he got another on his other foot i phoned the orthotics team who got me to take him in last friday, so now its just a waiting game....

Question to you all I am seriously thinking of stopping breastfeeding Lucy I have several reasons but the main one is i don't feel I am feeding her sufficiently Lucy is generally doing 30/40 mins minimum on breast then taking a 4oz bottle of wysoy, Today Lucy latched on for 1 hour but then 20 mins later screamed until i gave her a 4oz bottle surely I ain't feeding her as well as i want to when your little ones were 3/4 weeks old if on formula or breast how much formula did your little one take or how long did you feed for!!! This is actually getting me down,

Any advice gr8fully recieved lol

I hope all mums & babies are well

Joanne

Lucy will be having a growth spurt as they do at 4 week - i felt i was a walking milk machine she was latched on constantly and within 30 mins of finishing wanted to go on. It will be hard but shouldnt last too long but i bet its harder for you having Joel. You do whats best for you hun. I have never done formula so not sure of the oz however with Becki now she will take 4 oz of expressed at a push anymore and she brings it back. We have just gone through another growth spurt and she wanted feeding every hour - 2 hours unless we were out and she was asleep.

Bless Joel and his blisters, this will sound really funny but my sister has SNeeds and my mum was desperate for her to have pedro's as they did some lovely white ones for girls but she never needed any, her friends sons did and they had some really cute ones.

Well its weigh in day for the monkey today.....she slept from half 9 til half 5 last night it was only when she woke up i realised we hadnt got up at 4 for a feed.

Best go get dressed

hi!
well my sister had a little girl yesterday morning (on my mums birthday!) she has called her lily and weighs 6lb 9oz shes cute!

Joanne Harvey has always taken more than the "average" baby lol Smiler at 3-4 weeks Im sure he was taking 4-5 oz! Eeker
Growth spurts!?!? Harvey has had a never ending one since birth he just wont stop growing, he fits in size 3-6 months clothes from some shops! Eeker

Do what you feel is right I tried BF although there was no support and I couldnt latch Harvey on in the hospital, he went 11 hours without feed and I was told to go back to bed when I asked for help! so I turned to the bottle, in all honesty I dont think I could have fed him anyway! lol

speak soon liz xx

evening all

liz congrats on becoming an auntie! and to harvey on his new cousin is this his first? aw i bet they'll b really close being such similar ages.

lol at turning to the bottle, ha!

joanne sorry you're having a mare with BF, it always seems to be more difficult for those who mix with formular. like monkey says, it sounds like she's having a growth spurt which generally last 3 days, phoebe had one last week too. if you think it'd b best to switch to formular you do it hun and dont feel bad about it.

to answer your question, phoebe usually has about 15 mins on each breast and empties them both. when i express she usually has about 6-8oz.

can i just ask what size clothes everyones in now? phoebe has moved up to 0-3 but i bought her some new clothes from babies r us and tesco yesterday in 0-3 and they barely fit??? they say on them 10-14lb and phoebe was only 10lb 6oz last week..i've washed them do you think they'll let me change them for a bigger size?

first day alone with the kiddies today as df is back at work - i survived yay!

take care all

love

Becki was weighed today 11 lb 11oz
Karly in terms of clothes size she has been in 0-3mth for about 2 week but they are still a bit big and some are huuge on her. She is in size 1 nappies and newborn vests. We had to put her in 0-3 as she is quite long in the leg.
Wow she has plenty of milk in a bottle - Becki only manages 4oz, sometimes 5 at a push.

im not sure if they will take the clothes back have you kept the labels?

Joanne I feed Ella both breast and bottle, actually I do bottle more. I feed her 15 minutes on only one breast and then give her the bottle (about 2 to 3 oz), my reasoning is that the breast milk I give her is not to fill her up but to give her all the important things found in breastmilk, I think of it as giving her medicine and then I give her bottle after 15 minutes as I dont have enough breast milk and the bottle fills her up.
and there are some feeds when I just give her bottle, as long as I breast feed her at least 3 times a day I am quiet happy.

Monkey how wonderful for Becki to sleep so well, well done!
how did the weigh thing go?

Liz congrats to your sister!

Karly well done on making it through, though I know how nice it is to have that extra set of hands close by...
Ella is now wearing the 0 to 3 months and some are a bit long in the leg but they all fit nicely.

I am feeling very grumpy today, hardly slept at all, Ella was awake for most of the night with wind and stomach cramps and did not eat at all, hope this will pass soon.
we have bought a larger size NUK teat for her bottle in hope that she drink more! must try it.

Karly I hope you can get your clothes changed I have bought things that are smaller in some shops which is a nightmare.....

Thank you all for your support I did speak with the health visitor today & she has agreed with me that I should stop the breast as I am not feeding Lucy there is no milk as such as breast are not hard or lumpy etc, I had a hellish night with her last night up every hour!! today has been ok I guess I know she has had a growth spurt as she has gained 9oz since last wednesday Lucy now weighs 9lb 7oz..... HV coming back 18th June to do the PND assessment but I said well if you were doing it today I would of failed would'nt I to which she replied yes you would please ring her if i need her but i am going to see gp as I don't want to be on medication but want to nip it in the bud whilst i can.....

morning all

sorry a lot of you are feeling sleep deprived, me too been up since 6am, knackered already and the day has only just begun! thankfully she only gets me up once in the night now (3am) and goes straight back to sleep.

luckily it's just me and phoebe that are up, ollie's still in bed, usualy doesn't get up until about 10 so i've got a good hour of peace for now as phoebe is back asleep.

joanne sorry you're feeling the strain hun. maybe stopping bf will help take the pressure off and make you feel better. you did good to keep it up this long. hope you haven't got pnd that's the last thing you need.

gosia you must have the patience of a saint having to do that many feeds. hopefully ella's tummy will get bigger soon so she takes more and feeds left often. how are the new teats have they made any difference?

kirsteen we haven't heard from you in a while hope you and caitlin are ok?

liz, monkey hope you're both well.

take care all

love

morning all

up early again got a right little morning bird on my hands here.

on a plus side we're slowly making progress on going through the night.. usually phoebe just wakes up at 2am but this week it's been getting later an later..3am, 4am and last night 4.30am Big Grin still always gets up at 7 though but it's not too bad as she's only up a couple of hours before she's back asleep again.

have managed fine this week with both of them on my own. we've got some kind of routine going so i know whats happening most of the time. only occasionally does it go tits up.

anyway best go clean up my mums coming to stay for a few days in a bit.

take care all

love
