Hi All

Thanks summer for popping in to say hiya!!!

Well alls not too bad here i am having hell at night with Lucy takes me two hours to get her down then when she wakes through the night it can take upto three hours to get her back to sleep its as though she constantly wants to feed woke at 2am then fell asleep at 5.20 but woke at 6.30 this morning had nearly an hour on breast but still was'nt happy so I gave a oz of aptimil & she slept from 8 til 1, bless her Shaun then gave her a 3 oz bottle & she slept again so tonight i am going to feed her then top her up see if that helps as i really need some sleep got my nephew staying for the weekend so need some energy as my sis & the rest will be here sunday for dinner.....

Apart from bad nights all is well Lucy had heel prick test yesterday got an appt to register her next thursday oh & Lucy has dropped to 8lb 3oz....

hi all

joanne lucy sounds exactly like phoebe was, in the first couple of days it was a nightmare at night, took me 3 hours at a time to feed and settle her it was exhausting. she's alot better now though it was just a case of toughing it out.

she also has a restless couple of hours around 7pm - 9pm at first i thought it was colic but aparently not, she just likes to cry it seems but eventually drops off.

gosia sounds to me like ella is having a growth spurt and as for your milk supplies if you just keep feeding her then it'll increase if that's what you want to do.

monkey i'm glad your photos came out ok, when do you get them back? wow an ipod for her baby chair how cool which chair is it she's got?

kirsteen wow go caitlin sleeping through! maybe its all the feeds she's having through the day that have filled her up enough to go through? hope it's not a fluke, i so can't wait for phoebe to sleep through i'm dead on my feet.

liz woop woop to the 6lbs that's fab! you'll be back in your size 10's in no time. WI for me on tuesday watch this space..

well i've had a bit of an eventful morning to say the least. DF is at an interview today so i decided i'd brave the toddlers group on my own with both kids. we managed to get up ready and out in good time but as soon as we got there phoebe started kicking off. hungry again but i'd only just fed her an hour before so i tried to settle her. she wasn't having any of it so i decided to feed her, they let me use the staff room in the library. when i got in there i was mortifyed to find that my breast pad had gone astray and i had a huge wet patch all down my top! no hand dryers in the toilets either!

so i get on with feeding her but i was in so much of a tizz about my top i had a nose bleed, nothing to wipe it up with so again it went all down my top! eventually i finish feeding her but i forgot to take a muslin with me. in true sods law fashion she decided to puke all over me. so eventually i surface from the staff room with my top covered in milk, blood and puke i looked such a state! at least phoebe was happy though. hopefully it'll go better next week..

take care all

love

hi everybody hope all is well!
well had a bad night last night with Harvey he seemed to have wind that he couldnt get up so I bought some infacol, I was under the impression that you could give it in their bottle but it didnt say on the instructions, any ideas ladies?

I went for lunch with my friend and her baby boy charlie, he is two weeks younger than Harvey but Harvey looked soooo much older than him!

Went for six weeks check yesterday and everything went well although I paniced a little when the DR checked Harveys hips, as she twisted them around and she caught the velcro on his nappy and the sound was unbearable! I thought she'd broken his leg! my heart nearly jumped out of my chest but she seemed as paniced as me as she tried to tell me it wasnt his leg lol!!
Can I ask, at the six week post natal check for me are they supposed to check stiches? its just that my dr didnt and it didnt occur to me until I remembered the midwife who dealt with the birth filled in my notes completly wrong and nowhere in my notes does it say I have stitches and am unsure if I should make another appointment!?!?
Oh I had a phone call reguarding my complaint against the maternity dept it was the matron over maternity she wants a meeting with me so they seem to be taking it seriously so thats good!

Fingers crossed for DF's interview Karly! I think you did really well venturing outwith two babies under 2! it can only get better Wink

Monkey how good is that! a ipod for her chair! Becki sounds like a lucky girl!
poor Harvey has too listen to the dodgy tunes his plays lol!

Joanne Baby bues arent nice but hopefully they will pass quickly, you need to slow down abit, dont think I do as much as you yet lol your like wonder woman ! Smiler

Anyways this is a really long post! sorry if I have bored you ladies Smiler

evening all

bad night with phoebe so shattered today...zzzz..

joanne i can't believe they were so against you feeding in subways i think it's disgusting how some people react to breastfeeding mums Mad jeez all we're trying to do is feed our children not flash our boobs! that's one of the reason's i'm not brave enough to BF in public, i'm not only shy but i think i'd die if someone told me off for it..

monkey that chair is so cool! we've just got the m&p's barnaby button one phoebe seems happy enough with that.

liz omg i'm not surprised you freaked out when the doc checked harvey's hips! glad he's ok did he have his first injections too? as for checking stitches, i dont think they do this routinely, generally they'll just ask if they're healing ok but will check them if you think somethings wrong.

that's good your complaint is being taken seriously, bloody NHS.

DF says his interview went well, they want to offer him a job working for voltzwagen (sp??) but he's also got the owners of a bmw dealership interested in him so he's got 2 more interviews to go to next week. feel a bit nervous at the prospect of him going back to work actually i've got so used to having him at home to help.

we're going on a bit of a roadtrip tomorrow to visit my family in leeds.i'm knackered just thinking about it, hopefully it'll go relatively smoothly.

take care all, hope you're having good weekends.

love

Hi Girls

DH still at home so havent had much time to log on, glad to see everyone is doing ok.

Karly I do BF often and have milk but not enough, Ella is always frustrated after a while (30 min) on breast and when I give her the bottle after that she gulps it down, poor little thing, so a lot of times I just give her the bottle and know that she is fed well.
LOL! probably not the right thing to laugh at your story but I have had the leaking breast thing so often, cant see it that much if I wear a black top though. dont give up , just continue going out, things will improve or hunny you will just get used to it all!!

Joanne you are taking on so much on your shoulders, hope it does not become too much for you, glad to hear things are going better for you and shaun.

Liz I do think someone should have a look at your stiches.

Kirstenn I was going to do a fresh start to my diet today and unfortunatley I just polished off a brownie, tomorrow will hopefully be better.

Went for my post-op check up and all is ok, also got Ellas birth certificate.
Ella had a few touchy days where she would not want the bottle at all and just cry, we tried then to feed her off the Avent bottle ( as we r using NUK) and she drank half as she battled to suck on the avent teat, then went back to NUK and now she is taking the NUK again, I dont know what that was all about.
She still feeds every 2 hours during day and night, DH does 2 late feeds at 9 and at 11 while I sleep as it was getting too much. tomorrow she is going to the doc for a chceck up and being weight too, I wonder how much she has put on with all these feeds.

take care girls

afternoon all

gosia great to hear from you i was beginning to wonder.. glad ella's feeding has settled down again now and she's taking the bottle again that must be a relief. can't believe she only goes 2 hours between feeds i'm not surprised you're tired but at least you have your dh to help out. how many oz's is she taking at a time?

Kirsteen good luck with weightwatchers, you go girl i really need to get started on the diet it's so hard as BF makes me ravenous!

joanne i'm glad you've called a truce with shaun. can't believe you're going back to work already how come you didn't tell your boss about being pg you should've got some maternity pay surely if you had?

things are settling down here now and i'm starting to find my feet again. phoebe is in some sort of routine now and goes 4 hours between feeds so i'm happy with that. oliver on the other hand has started having some mega tantrums it's driving me crazy terrible two's come early i guess.

our visit to leeds went well it was great to see everyone and we came home with a boot full of presents. phoebe now has more clothes than i do!

hope you're all enjoying your bank holidays, weathers pants here.

take care all

love

hi all!
hope all is well! Smiler
Harvey was really unsettled over the weekend he was hungry ALL the time, as soon as I fed him he cried for more! it was sunday and I thought enoughs enough, I have umed and ahed about the hungrier baby milk for weeks and went and bought a box of it although it said that you should consult a HV or DR before the change. Icouldnt get hold of anyone as it was sunday so just changed the milk myself but will probably get a slap on the wrist wen I see tha HV!
I must say though it seems to have done the trick he seems more settled and content now so Im quite sure I made the right decision! Smiler
I also moved Harveys cot into our bedroom as he keeps waking himself up in the moses basket when he strtches his arms out, he loves it and now he sleeps like a starfish lol
we have eventually got rid of all the size 1 nappys yey! and using size 2! Big Grin

Monkey well done for Beckis weight! Smiler I would love to do the baby massage think Harvey would really like it! milk donor? I havent heard of it before but it sounds like a good Idea, wish I had been able to carry on BF

Joanne I know what you mean about mat pay! Frowner going back to work beginning of june myself and thought that was early!

Karly glad things are settling down for you and hope Olivers tantrums settle too! its great the amount of outfits you get bought isnt it!? I still get the odd prezzy now lol!

Gosia glad that ellas feeding has settled back down!

hope all mummies and babbies are good!
speak soon liz x
