kirsteen sorry i never realised you lived in Romania. Looked at the new pics - what a cutie she is looking like a proper little girl.
Gosia does Ella have a dummy? Becki catnaps through the day. occasionally she will have an hour but its only if we are out in the car seat. re feeding Becki gets fidgety or cries when hungry. She also roots for breast if she is hungry and you hold her. She averages 3 hours between feeds through day. Becki likes her dummy as a comfort maybe try Ella with a dummy as opposed to a feed as she may be feeding little but often as it is there but a dummy could be what she is after rather than feeding just to satisfy the sucking need. does thst make sense - i seem to have waffled on a bit lol.
karly the pink stuff is soo cute. i have to stop spending lol.
Liz i cant believe you are back at work - poor thing. i couldnt leave Becki and definatly not with the MIL ......... lol i hope your first day is not too bad - what do you do?
well we are off to town today for some bits. its my 3rd wedding anniversary today - time flies. Making a 3 course meal tonight.
liz, you poor love i really do feel for you. it's heartbreaking leaving them but it will get easier i promise. just think of how excited harvey will be when you go pick him up again at the end of the day.
good luck for today keep your chin up hun x
your MIL sounds spookily like mine!
monkey happy wedding anniversary!
went to see sex and the city last night with DF, first time we'd left phoebe since she was born and it went surprisingly smoothly. FIL came round to baby sit and the kids were already asleep and neither woke up whilst we were out. the film was FAB i'm going to see it again tonight actually with my friends!
took the toys r us clothes back and they exchanged them for size 3-6 months - which fit phoebe perfectly! weird how different the sizes vary from shop to shop..
Again a short post as pressed for time. Monkey and karly I think both of you are right, the more I rwad your posts the more I agree that maybe ells just wants a dummy and not a feed, what I mean is that we taught her to eat every 2 hours as I put my finger in her mouth, she suckles and I put a bottle in her mouth, she is obviously not that hungry and only drinks 2 oz and in 2 hours time the same procedure follows, so I think we taught her this, its going to be tough to not feed her now, not too sure how to go about this.
karly the gripe water is a mission at night as ella wont drink it and spits it up, I do give her colic drops but they take a while to work.
and monkey yes, ella is much better when I hold her in an upright position, she stops with her crying for a bit, do you think its wind?
one more question, when do you know your baby is sleepy, ella usually yawn and I then try and put her to sleep, which might sometimes take a while or she is just so tired that she becomes drowsy and falls asleep after a feed espacially...
gosia it could be wind we had it with Becki and were told the heat from you soothes them and helps get the wind up. sometimes Becki has wind and gets grumpy but whrn i lift her up and hold her tight to me while rubbing her back she brings it up and settles down. re the sleepy Becki rubs her eyes or face and her eyes look drowsy. if she just yawns i dont put her to sleep as she isnt necessarily ready. she also goes quiet when she is laid playing or in her chair if tired.
well I survived! im so tired and have only been with harvey since 5pm and i had to put him to bed just after 7pm because he had fallen asleep. It was horrible leaving him, im a nursery nurse MIL met me outside work and as soon as i got to her she started fussing, tucking him in so i took him out of his pram for a cuddle before i went in. when DH went to collect him she kept telling him what he had been doing! like that now when he laughs he makes a laughing sound! (which annoys me!! because i know better than her what he can do!) its asif shes trying to get one over on me all the time!! grrrrr!!!
all the girls in work was supportive and the day soon passed i kept texting to check on him. DH took harvey to be weighed and he is now 15lb 8oz he has gained 13 oz in 2 weeks so he is slowing down abit! Last night he was an angel i put him to bed at 6.20pm and he only woke for a feed at 3.45 am! bearing in mind his last feed had been 12 hours before!
Gosia,Harvey gets abit wingey and his eyes look tired i also can tell by his cry! if i dont catch him before he goes past it he gets himself in a right tizz!
Happy Anniversary monkey!! its 3 years for us this year too and i know what you mean about time flying!!
well i got through the first day, now i just have to get through the next four!! lol
well thanks girlies!

Caz happy anniversary hun.... I hope you had a lovely meal too!!!!
Gosia I hope ella is getting better re cramps I find if i give lucy a cuddle whilst winding her wind does come up better especially if Lucy is upright... I put Lucy down after each feed either in her rocker or her carrycot where she generally sleeps around 10pm I swaddle her & she sleeps til 2 or 3 then i give her a bottle & she sleeps til 7ish, generally...
Karly Glad you were able to exchange those clothes at toys r us & that the film was good...
Liz really pleased you survived your 1st day it is hard returning back to work but think of all the nice things you can buy your little man... As for MIL's & also mothers they do try to wind you up! My mum visited tonight she was trying to but in lol....
Well Saturday I did go out but decided to keep Lucy here with my childminder & all was well, Shaun did understand my dilema.... Anyway I went to docs tonight for the pill injection but took Lucy also as she had a rash all over her I suspected it was a viral rash as i had seen a similar rash on joel a couple of times.. Anyway Nurse had a look & asked the doctor to see her & yes i was right she has a viral infection so was given some dioralyte as she had been sick a couple of times today & said if rash still there in 48hours to go back to see him but he did the usual checks with the glass etc for meningitis & also said her temp was abit high, So i am expecting the next couple of days to be hellish... But everything else is ok & Joel is well.....
I hope everyone else is well

liz well done for making it through your first day hun. i know it's tough but dont let your MIL get a rise out of you when she's winding you up it's not worth it. hope the rest of the week goes ok for you.
gosia how's it going with Ella have you tried her with a dummy yet, is it making any difference? phoebe's eyes start drooping when she's tired and sometimes she cries when she's tired too.
joanne sorry to hear about lucy's rash, hope it clears up soon. glad you had a good night out with shaun.
looks like we're all settling into some kind of a routine now, great to get more sleep isn't it.
Lucy still has her rash but has been ok apart from that HV has just visited & Lucy has gained 12oz since last wednesday, Have to speak to gp re her rash tomorrow if its not gone down.. but lucy apart from being clingy seems fine.
I hope your all well

hi everyone joanne hope lucys rash clears up soon! Harvey has gooey eyes so i took him to the gp who gave me antibiotic eyedrops for him its a shame! collected his pics today too! only planned on gertting a small pack as hes at pixifoto on sunday but ended up with 5 packs with 5 pics in each, the CD and a huge canvas!! I just couldnt leave them the thought of them shredding them absolutly killed me!! will put them on msn when i can. As for work, GRRRRRR its gona take a while although work is been good they allowed me a longer lunch to take him to the gp, im hoping it will get easier when he is at nursery with me because i can then pop in on my breaks and take him out on my lunch so will spend a bit more time with him that way1 I keep thinking that hes forgortten who I am, he is responding really well to DH the way he used to with me! if it doesnt get any easier i will drop to part time and just work 5 hours a day............. well see anyways gonna go i feel dead on my feet!! been up since 6am and had 14 pre-schoolers out in the sun all day!! speak soon girlies hope all babies and mummies are well

welcome to the thread pull up a chair we are a friendly bunch here.
are the spots and dry skin on babies face or body? have you washed him with products? my dd had spots and dry skin on her face and i was recommended aqueous cream which i used and her skin is perfect now. its a water based cream. for dry skin u can also use organic sunflower oil or olive oil but sunflower oil absorbs better re the sun block have you got a baby one as some kids ones apparantly shouldnt be used until they are 6mth old. you can apply as often as needed as per thr reccomendation on the bottle.
just seen you are in Yorkshire - which part? im in west yorkshire
looks like phoebe is going through another growth spurt (she's 7 weeks now, is this about a right?) feeding every 2 hours i'm exhausted and every time i feed her ollie starts playing up it's a nightmare!! i swear all she did all day yesterday was cry all day long i hope this doesn't last long.
she's in her own room now, sleeping much better through from 7pm - 6.30am a couple of times.
Hi all!! OOH another baby boy lovely!! Icant really help you on skin Harveys skin hasnt been dry upto now Ionly apply sudocrem to his bum and thats it sorry!
How is everyone? hope your all well well I made it through my first week yippee! but.........Im gonna moan now! MILlooked after Harvey today! on monday she used 4 nappys in two hours! How on earth!?!?!? I just dont know how she managed it! and today she changed him because he had dribbled when he was taking his bottle ?? how I will never know because he never misses a drop! but....SHE washed the clothes and they are still at her house which, im unsure why but it has really annoyed me. I have also noticed a scratch on his knee and DH seems to think he has done it himself but it goes across instead of up and i really think its the dog whose done it im really considering wether to add friday to his nursery days or do you think im over reacting!?!? also was really upset leaving him with her too! she just always manages to rub it in that im not with him although she could see it as reasuring me!? oh think i could be overreacting but just cant help it, could feeling like this be part of PND? I never made it to the docs thought I could sort it myself but can feel this issue eating away at me.
anyways moan over! can you believe it HV posted me a red book which is filled in and upto date so now I have 2!!
Will post again soon hope all mummys and babys are well liz xx
