hi ladies

everyone gone into hiding again?

all's well here, ollie is getting closer to crawling properly, still doing the army crawl and occasionally gets up on his knees.

this weekend my mum came to visit and yesterday we took oliver to the safari park. he was sat on my knee all the waty around, trying to climb out the window to grab the animals it was so funny.

we've got his 6-12 month check this week with the HV, has anyone else had an appointment come through for that? think it's just to make sure he's developing ok

nothing else to report really, hows everyone else?

Hi Karly,
I'm still around, not often on line at the weekend, but am always bac around durin the week. Glad to hear that Ollie is nearly crawlin.
Cos of cut baks we dont have 8 month checks now unless they are concerned about your child so i'm not gettin one but i know she is doin ok, i get her weighed every 2 weeks so i get to see a h.v then and thy are always askin questions bout this an that.

I think tyla is gonna get some more teeth soon she keeps gettin real red cheeks every day for the last week or so and has really begun to chew on everythin again, she cant pull herself to standin yet but can walk along the sofa quite well now if i stand her against it.

Hi mandi glad all is well wit you, your little lady sounds like shes doin really well

As my little boy Joshua who was born on 21st June is still havin approx 28-30oz a day plus 3 meals. Hi Girls,

Welcome Jackie, Lucas has about 22oz of milk plus 3 meals and snacks during the day including yogarts, I am sure your baby is having what he needs. Baby's tend not to overfeed at this age so he must need it and as long as his weight is steady I wouldn't worry about it.

Sorry I haven't been on for a while, Lucas has been suffering with the reflux. He is not doing well on his medication, the poor thing has had teribble constipation and has started vomiting again, he has also been waking up screaming and getting in to a right state so as you can imagine I am totaly exhasted.

Karly lucas is about the same stage as Ollie in the crawling, he is getting around comando but getting up on his knees now and again. HV said she will call me this week to arrange Lucas's 8 month check and we can weigh him. I am sure he has put a lot af weight on.

Lucas has finally started to say dada and baba but no mama yet.

Mandy glad things are well with you and you little one.

Jayjay

Hi ladies

A big welcome to you Jackie and little Joshua. Regarding your question on how much milk he’s having, 28-30oz is great I wish I could get oliver to drink that much. Guidelines for babies our age aren’t so set, they just say they should have at least 18oz per day (I think??) but they don’t have to just have this allowance through milk only, cheese, yoghurts and other dairy products (including milk on breakfast) count too.

my baby has about 21oz plus 3 meals and 2 snacks.

If he’s on his centile and putting on weight at the right rate then I don’t think you’ve got anything to worry about, some babies just have bigger appitites than others. As he starts to eat more you’ll probably find that his milk intake will gradually decrease. Nothing wrong with a healthy appitite is there!

jayjay how cute that lucas has started chatting, it's so funny isn't it. poor thing with reflux he's always got something bothering him hasnt he. i hope he gets better soon, pleased he's been putting on weight better.

Laura how’s tyla progressing with crawling? Still preferring standing? She sounds very sturdy on her little legs, bless her. Ollie likes standing at the settee too, he wont walk anywhere but is happy to hang on and play standing up. I have to stand behind him so he doesn’t go toppling anywhere though. He’s so accident prone at the moment, cuz he’s determined to get into everything and always wants to be on the move. You probably heard about him falling off the bed a few weeks ago, he keeps trying to climb off his changing table too. Gotta keep a hawks eye on him at all times, he’s so miscevous.

I can’t believe he’s got a little personality already, he’s like a proper little boy now rather than a baby. He’s started shaking his head loads because he knows it makes people laugh at him. He loves it when people laugh at him, I think he’s a born entertainer.

Had a bit of a run in with the MIL again yesterday. I’m getting pretty stressed about it because she’s blatantly ignoring my requests to stick to his routine, particularly nap times I’m sick of him being exhausted everytime I pick him up because she hasn’t let him sleep because it makes him unhappy. I was trying tell her gently that he needs to sleep more and I got the dreaded reply of ‘I don’t need telling what to do with MY grandson’. I’m getting more and more stressed about it because I see how upset he get, if she cant respect my wishes I might have to look into working nights or from home :0(

Anyway enough moaning, hope everyone else is ok

Hi
Thanks Laura,Jayjay and Karly for your advice it's nice to compare with other babies of a similar age, think joshy just loves his milk. Goin to get him weighed today,

Jayjay- sorry to hear about Lucas hope he will soon be feelin better x

Karly- I'm lucky with my mil she sticks to joshua's routine, in my family it's my mum who does as she wants, never lets him sleep at the right time, feeds him late. If i mention anything she just says "oh he didnt look tired" or "when you were a baby i did ...", bearing in mind that was 33 years ago!!!!!

take care

Hi everyone,
Karly my mil is exactly the same i know she looks after megan really well but she insists on putting her to sleep in the pram where she will only probablly sleep about 1/2hr, if she were in her cot she'd have at least 1hr 1/2. i picked her up today and she said she'd had 35minutes so needless to say she was knackered. i've told my dp to tell her coz i think she'll listen more to him.
Jackie megan has 3 meals 2 snacks and about 12-14oz milk. sounds like your little boy is doing great.
Jayne sorry to hear about lucas hope he feels better soon (and you), you feel so bad for them don't you, i know whenever mine are ill that i't rather it were me.
Laura isn't tyler doing well with her walking, megan is nowhere near doing that, she does like to be on her feet though. she can get around in her baby walker, and isn't even attempting crawling yet.
Anyway hope you are all well and babies too, we go for 8 month check on 18th march,
take care, mandy x

Hi girls an babies,

Jay sorry to hear little lucas isnt doin so well, an because of this you are exhausted, i hope it all sorts itself out soon x x x

Jackie- did you get joshua weighed today? How much was he? I'm gettin Tyla weighed tomorro.

Mandi- Tyla doesnt crawl shes only begun to go on her tummy for a few weeks now, but she does push herself backwards, even though it does frustrate her!

Karly- sorry to hear your mil isnt listening still, i'm quite lucky my mil only see's tyla wen i'm there so does wat i say, i've only ever left Tyla with my cousin, brother, and dp sister.

Well Tyla still has her cold an cough, it seems to have been worse today an yesterday an i've had to have her dosed up on medised, wonderful stuff, she is really tearful then 15 mins after havin it shes like a different child, an it helps her sleep better too as it has an antihistamine in it, i think her teeth are goona come soon too an that is addin to the cold and makin it worse, gonna get her weighed tomorro i'll let u know wat she weighs.

Take care

Hi Laura

Had Joshua weighed he is now 21lb and 1oz he is still below his line but he was born quite big at 9lb 5oz, spoke with a different hv today and she said to change his milk to follow on and increase his meal at lunchtime so will give that a go.

sorry to hear Tyla is not well, colds just seem to hang on and on with little ones, like you say teething doesn't help.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Hi all Hope you don't mind me butting in again I know I haven't been around for ages.

I have tried to go through all the entries since I was last on what a lot! and what a lot of pictures of beautiful babies - aren,t they growing.

JayJay so glad to hear that Lucas tests were OK - I hope he now puts on weight.

Well Jake is really growing - but I haven't got a clue how much he weighs as I never go to the HV. He has gone through a very grumpy stage - teeth etc and I think he's had all the illness' too.

He has been getting across the room for ages (we are not sure how) but in the last week has started to crawl and seems to be really enjoying himself no more grissling! I think he wants to be like his brothers and was frustrated.

He is slowly getting on with his food but can still be fussy - he loves chocolate though - takes after me and is now trying to grab my glasses of wine!!!!!

We are going to Cyprus in the Easter hols - really looking forward to it and hope it is warm as Jale loves swimming. Not sure I'm looking forward to the flight as the 3 youngest haven't flown before - but it will be exciting.

Sorry to ramble - will try and get on more often and do personals

Love Jack

JACK! thanks for popping on nd letting us know how little Jake's doing. as the oldest of our bunch he's definately progressing great isnt he.

you must try to post us some photos so we can see what a little man he's turned into, if you get chance.

how many teeth has he got now?

so he's a little chocoholic, bless him. oliver has never tried it because of his milk allergy, i dont think they do non dairy chocolate do they?

enjoy your holiday in Cyprus, with your gang it's hardly going to be relaxing but i hope you all have a great time. our family hol isn't until august, but i'm looking forward to it already.

just wondering how many naps everyones little ones are having now? oliver still has 2, one in the morning at 10am and another at 2pm, sleeps for about 3 hours altogether. this morning he had a mammoth 3 hour nap though, he was so exhausted from the lack of sleep he's had the past 2 days at MIL's i think he's trying to catch up.

Lucy if you're lurking come out and let us know how your lovely Ruby is doing!

any Annie how are the twins?

Syd, anyone else out there...
anyone else that wants to join us, please feel free.

hi ya karly,
Regarding sleep megan is exactly the same as oliver, she goes back roughly 2hours after she's got up (around 10) and normally sleeps for hour and half, then in afternoon around 2.30 has another hour or so, sometimes she sleeps in her pram if we are out, but just like you i can guarantee that on a wednesday (after 2 days at mil) she has mammoth sleeps!!! in fact she is in bed right now!! she goes to bed at night between 6 and 6.30.
the weather here is great today nice and sunny i hope this is a sign of things to come,i can't wait for summer in the garden with paddling pools etc! i've already started buying summer clothes for her.
is anyones baby trying to talk yet? Megan doesn't seem to babble she hasn't said ba ba or ma ma or da da yet, not sure what age they start doing this, my eldest daughter was a really quick talker , she does shout a lot though and likes it if you shout back at her!
Take care, mandy x

Hiya

Hope you and little ones are all doing ok? Joshua has 2 sleeps a day he gets up about 7.30 then back to bed about half 9-10 for an hour. Then he has an hour or so after lunch, sometimes he has half an hour about 5.30 as well. typical lazy boy!!

Well with regards to his milk since i spoke to you about it he has decided to have less anyway not sure if he is weaning himself off it or it's his teeth playing up. He is still on sma gold the hv said he doesn't need to change it. Are any of your little ones on follow on milk?

take care all

jackie xx

Hi everyone

Hope you've all had a good weekend.

Jack- so nice to have ytou bak an to hear that jake is doin well.

Tyla has 2-3 sleeps a day and they are usually totalin about 3 hrs in all.
Tyla says a few things, she says mama, dada, nan, bubba, up an ta and the rest of which i dont understand a all, shes a reall babbler, she took her first steps on thursday, we were round my cousins nans house an she was standin holdin onto the sofa when she let go an took 2 steps towards me then lunged, so i put her back against the sofa an she did it again, i was so proud of her, shes only done it a couple more times since but i dont think it will be long now! I got her weighed on wed an she hadn't put on any weight in 2 weeks, but hv wasnt worrid as shes so active shes prob burnin it off, she said we'll see wat she weighs in 2 weeks, but i couldnt poss feed her anymore, she has 6oz milk followed by a whole weetabix or bowl of ready brek, then at 10 she has a snack of yogurt or fruit or a rich tea biscuit, then a 7mth jar and fruit, then a snack at 2.30 of fruit or veg then dinner a 7mth jar followed by fruit then 7oz milk b4 bed.
Tyla has started goin off the jars at lunchtime, so every other day i give her sandwiches, pitta bread with cheese and veg, fish fingers an peas, scrambled egg or omlette an she absolutly lovs them, she ate a whole pitta bread and two chunks of cheese with some grapes for her lunch yesterday!
Tyla has follow on milk, i changed her over at 6 months an she seems to be doin fine on it, i didnt ask the hv i jus changed it.

Well i went out on fri night an tyla stayed overnight wit my brother, she went to bed fine then woke up at 12.30 an cried till my bro played wit her, he played for an hour then she went bak to bed till 7 so not too bad, thats only the second the shes stayed out so i didnt think she did too bad, an i had a great night an didnt come in till 3 then had a lie i till 10 but didnt actually get up till 12, then wen i went to pick her up she was so happy to see me she grinned from ear to ear for bout 20 mins jus kept kissin me then cuddlin me. The down fall was she played up last night, she kept wakin up to make sure i was still there, she woke up 4 times for reassurance! Never mind

Well i think i've rambled on bout me for quite long enough so i will catch up soon.

Take care
