Hi Laura babyshow sounds good, wish there was something closer to me like that. Lucas loves baby massage as well. Karly sounds like Oliver is thriving with those carrots. Just put some apricot and peaches in the freezer for Lucas for breakfast. I know I am probably worrying a bit too much about his weight doesn't help that the doctor told me that he would be tested for C.F. Crones and celiac. What a nightmare! Jayjay

Hi Jay You too are good making Lucas his food, where do u find the time with 4 children? Especially as its half term! I do hope your little man is ok, and i hope all the test results are fine which i'm sure they will be. (((((((BIG HUGS))))))) Well me an DB both have stinkin colds, i'm suprised my little Tyla hasn't got it aswell, but hopefully she wont as its horrible, i havent even got dressed today and DB is back in bed tryin to sleep it off! Tyla is doin really well sittin supported and will stay for about 20 secs wen i leave her which is gettin longer slowly. She loves sittin on the sofa in the corner an if i try to lay her down she lifts her head and shoulders off of it so i sit her bak up, cheeky monkey! She really has found her voice the past week or so, i was sat in the doctors after my class yesterday and she spoke at the top of her voice for about 15 mins non stop it was so funny, everyone kept making comments on how she was gonna be a singer when she grows up! She is sat on the sofa now watchin me type and talking i think she may be telling me wat to right!

hi jayjay sorry to hear about the worries you're having with lucas, did the doctor say why they were testing him? is that connected to his weight or is it just random? I hope the results come back ok. I bet you're worn out after looking after all your kids this week of half term, and cooking too you wonderwoman Laura sorry to hear that you're feeling under the weather, fingers crossed tyla doesnt catch it and i hope you get better soon. oliver is a proper noisy begger too (or noisy nelly as i call him!) he's forever shouting and babbling and his favourite game is playing tarzan. just ordered him his first christmas present (determined to get organised this year!) a play ring nest thing to help him with sitting up. there's some gorgeous christmas outfits in mothercare too, they're so cute i dont think i'll be able to resist!

Hello Laura I only have 3 kids all boys. Karly yes it is connected to Lucas weight that they are testing him, the GP said he thinks that he may not be absorbing the food properly and that it could have been why he was so bad even with breast milk. You can really see that he is not putting on weight now all the 3-6 month clothes fit him in length but are so baggy you would not think he was over 4 months. I am making all my own food because then I know exactly what he is getting. I was talking to my mum yesterday and said that I was glad I had decided not to go back to work just yet as I don't think I could leave him with strangers knowing there may have a medical problem, and like my mum said everything happens for a reason, I know something in my head was telling me not to, glad I listened to it. Bit deep I know! got to go Lucas is crying. Jayjay

Hi Jay Sorry must of got you confused with someone else, but still 3 is plenty to deal with. Sometimes we have to follow our hearts because they know that its the right thing to do and i'm glad you followed yours and deceided not to go back to work. Have you tried Lucas on meat yet? Or are you waiting? Is there anything he doesnt like? Karly- hows Ollie comin along with his food? Found nything he doesn't like? Wats his favourite so far? Tyla really likes the chicken in meals she has had it since monday now and eats it all so well, but still eats the veggies an fruit jus as well too! She eats a whole jar now at each meal, but seems to have gone off breakfast only eating about half of her porridge or fruit, maybe jus a phase! Anyway catch up soon Take care

Hi all JayJay sorry to hear about Lucas's problems hope all the tests are OK it must be worrying and I can understand why you are making all your own food. Laura and Karly glad to see that Ollie and Tyla are getting their voices. Jake is starting to babble, when the others don't talk for him. He also has a bit of a temper on him - typical Taurian!!!!!! Jake is grumpy at the moment think that his teeth are coming through but can't be sure - are any of you babies teething. He is still fighting sleep and only really sleeps for 30 minutes at a time and may only sleep for about an hour all day. He is really grumpy because he's so tired and I'm going the same way!!!!! When he occasionally does have a couple of hours he is lovely. We are tying to leave him to cry at times to try and get hin to drop off and wear himself out which I hate, but he won't be rocked etc and I really don't have the time. Any other suggestions would be very welcome. On the plus side he sleeps really well at night!!!! Anyway better go after my rant - sorry!!!!! Hope you are all having fun Love Jack

Hi Jack, Jake sounds like he's really coming along, i think Tyla may be teething, she is so dribbly and its strange but she seems to get miserable with her teeth at about the same time every day between 4-5 and as soon as i put teethin gel on shes happy again. With the sleep issue, i got told that after 2 -3 hours of being up a baby is tired so tyla sleeps after being up this long after every sleep, and at the beginning it took her a while to go to sleep but now as soon as i put her down she is asleep within 2 mins, unless i am late puttin her down then she finds it difficult to get to sleep, she sleeps for different amounts of time each sleep but generally has 3 sleeps that make up to between 3/4 hours, this morning she was up at 8.30 and at 10 she went bak to sleep till 12.30, but thats not usual, shes got a cold so i think that was y she slept so long, but then she only slept for half an hour later on which made up her 3 hours. Hope this is of some use. Hi Jay an Karly, hope your little ones r ok? Tyla's cold was so bad last night at 12am i turned the power shower on full blast and sat in the bath room with her for 15 mins inhaling the steam, she then slept really well, before that she kept catchin her breath in her sleep! She seems to be sleepin better tonight and i havent heard her since she went to bed, i gave her some nurofen and she's got karvol on a tissue tucked in her vest, and i also put it on the blanket. Anyway enough rambling take care everyone x x

hello jack sorry to hear you're having trouble with jakes daytime sleeping. Oliver sleeps about the same as Tyla, usually has 3-4 hours a day over 3 naps which includes a lunchtime nap of about 2 hours. I suppose it's easier for us as we only have one baby to look after and have more time. Does Jake have a dummy? this is a real help to get oliver to sleep. If you cant get him to sleep, try to just get him to lay somewhere quite for a while every few hours or so at least he won't be overstimulated and will be more likely to relax and go to sleep. As a last resort, will he go to sleep if you take him out in the pram? if you have the time that is.. sorry if my advice is rubbish. I suppose the teething doesn't help either but i hope things get better for you soon. Laura i'm sorry to hear that little tyla is still suffering with her cold, bless her. I've used the karvol stuff with oliver too, and it really helped. Apparently you can get these 'snot sucker' things to suck the snot out of babies noses (as obviously they can't blow them!) dont know what they call them but apparently they're really good and tescos sell them i think. sorry im full of vague crap advice today aren't i! oliver is doing great, he's been extra smily/happy and bouncy today (i think it's rubbed off on me i'm feeling a bit dippy!) has really started to take to his food now, and happily gobbles lunch and tea with fruit as dessert. He's also FINALLY started drinking the soya milk which is great as I'm trying to gradually wean him from breast to bottle for when i go back to work in january. Sounds daft but I'm really going to miss breastfeeding, but I'm looking forward to my boobs going back to normal! it's his 4 month injection tomorrow i'll be happy to get it over with. jayjay i hope lucas' is getting better and putting on weight again? and that the test results will help determine the cause. anyone else out there? it would be great to hear from you again. bye for now

Hi Laura and Karly Thanks for the advice - its really useful to know how much sleep Oliver and Tyla are having as I think that his lack of sleep is causing his grumpiness. Tried going for walks but it takes ages for him to go off and then wakes almost as soon as we get home, by which time Luke (DS3) and I are ready for a sleep!!! We've started to do controlled crying which seems to be workingbut is awful to listen to - but just managed to get him off now - hope he stays there for a while!! you'd think after 4 I'd be good at this but they are all so different. Sorry to hear about their colds - I've found that calpol has helped in the past. Oliver sounds lovely Karly, can you recognise any of his babbling, can't remember when they say mama and dada but must be soon. Anyway must go DS3 wants me to play and with Jake we may not have long!! Hi to everyone else who is still outthere. Jack

Hi Lucy, its so nice to have you back and to hear that you and Ruby are doing well! We thought we had lost you along with lots of others, there only seems to be 5 of us left now, its a shame because wen we were pregnant we were all around so much more, our little bundles must be keepin us all busy! Tyla has found her tongue in the past few days and keeps licking her chin, her tongue is long and pointed and it looks so cute wen she does it! Getting Tyla weighed tomorrow and she'll be 5 months, doesn't time fly! Hi JayJay, Karly Jack how you all doing?

Hi Welcome back Lucy, Glad you and ruby are doing well, glad to hear that you are managing your PND I am slowly getting there. Lucas was weighed today he is 15lb 5oz YEAH. I have been giving him some baby cereal to boost his calories, the nurse that I saw at the clinic suggested that I try and mix some butter in with his meals as she thinks that I may be on the right track and that he was just not getting enough calories. I will have to go to sainburys in the morning as they do a dairy free one. Roll on 6 months so he can have weetabix and meat. I am really happy as I was starting to worry. Lucas had his 3rd set of jabs as well he had to have 3 needles poor little thing, he has been really good though. Gave him some nurofen when we got home from school and he has only had a little niggle. Hi to all. Jayjay

Hi all Lucy welcome back lovely to hear from you glad to hear that you are feeling better. I think that you have the right idea doing things for yourself - I think that I need that too. JayJay glad that Lucas is starting to put on weight. I had Jake weighed yesterday for the first time in months he is 18lbs 9oz!!!! he is just going along the 75th percentile. Jake can finally roll back again, but I think he needs to practice. |It does mean that the others will have to not leave little toys on the floor incase he tried to eat them. Its frightening as it won't belong before they start to crawl. Anyway better go lots to do as Jake is asleep!!!!! LOve Jack

Hi Everyone Lucy- Of cousre we arent upset with u its jus lovely to hear from you. Keep in touch x Jay- Tyla is 5 months and i've started offering her chicken as i found that the veggies were boring her and she is absolutley fine with it, I am so glad your little man has put weight on this week it must be a huge relief to know that he is putting on weight again. Jack- Jake is doin really well rollin over, Tyla rolled over from front to back at 14 weeks, done it for about 3 weeks and hasn't done it since although i put her on her belly to play every day! I think she is gonna b a lazy baby, that said she is nearly sitting up jus needs a bit more balance. jake is doing really well with his weight too, is he eating meats yet or still on jus veggies? Karly- How are you an Ollie? hows his weaning coming along and how much does he weigh now? Tyla was weighed yesterday and is now 15lb 8oz right onthe 50th percentile, she also had to have her last injection the second dose of the new one, she was a bit grumpy yesterday afternoon but is absolutley fine now. I am so pleased that there are no more until the mmr. Take care all
