Just a quickie!! Locksley is now 9lb 14oz's and almost 3 weeks old!!
I felt really complete after having him, that my family is finished! I also wouldn't want to have another as now I have one of each it seems kind of perfect! I am also looking forward to getting my life and figure back and doing more with the kids as they get older...rather than doing baby things! 2 seems like a perfect number as me and Joll can either have one each, or one us can handle 2 for a bit whilst the other has time off!! I also had a rough delivery this time which made me say never again!!! HOWEVER!!! WHY DO I HAVE A LITTLE VOICE INSIDE MY HEAD SAYING....HAVE ANOTHER, HAVE ANOTHER!! Am I insane?? Is it just hormones?? Help me anyone...I need to come to my senses!!!
Chelley, I hope little Mia is thriving! How much does she weigh now?
Take care all, Love Sarah xxx

r u breast feeding or bottle feeding? my little pookie (mia's nickname) is feeding every 2 hours through the night and what seems like all day through the day - i cant get anythig done at all.
Im thinking of giving her a bottle feed at night time to try to settle her for longer. all the midwife said was that due to her large 10lb 2 oz birth weight that she will want more than other babies. not that helpful really!
but apart from feeding - she is wonderful, im definatly not having anymore - i think 3 of my own and a step daughter who visits every weekend is enough!!lol[] however wen i look at her - i think if only i could win the lottery then i would have more and more babies!! cos then i would be able to afford a huge house and a huge car!! lol[] but i think if i did have another this time i would defo have an epidural as giving birth to a 1olb baby with a head circumference of 38cm and only using gas and air was just crazy! lol[]
hows your other child taking to lox? my 2 are 10 and 8 so havent had that jealousy thing that younger siblings can have, thankfully.
i think sue will have her baby by now - i wonder what she has had. cant wait for all the others to give birth to.

Hi, I am Carly. Have 2 kids, 1 who is 4 and one who is 3 months. Thought i would join in on a new chat page as i like to meet new who have advice on babies and stuff. Be back soon. Carly xxxx
Sarah, Mia weighs 11lb now - she has been over feedign due to having colic! i was under the impression that breast fed babies didnt get colic so when she cried i assumed she was hungry - turns out the poor mite was in pain and was feeding to settle her belly!! how bad do i feel! Health visitor said that i wouldnt have known it was colic and not to feel bad - but i still do! So now i know its colic i can feed her properly and now know what is a feed cry and a pain cry!
Hows lox?

Chelley...Gosh little Mia is sure putting it on! Lox was 9lb 14oz's nearly a week ago and had grown 2cm's!! Don't know what's in my milk but he is doing really well on it! I don't think he wastes a calorie though....he still sleeps for England....but can also now lift his own head when he's having tummy time....looks like a tortoise! Hermione was like Mia....breast-fed every hour for the first 3/4 weeks! I was knackered! I used to do it by the book too....got out of bed and sat in my especially purchased nursing chair and fed her until she'd had enough! Often I'd fall to sleep mid-way! If only I'd done like I do with Lox....On the odd time he wakes through the night I just feed him in my bed....that way I don't even have to hold him and it doesn't matter if I dose off! When he's had enough I just wind him and then put him back in his cot!
I can't believe how easy it seems this time around....last time me and Julian were like zombies for the first 4 weeks at least! I also can't believe how quickly the time is passing by...Lox is now 3 weeks +1 day already! I want to cherish this stage and not wish it away....but I also can't wait for him to give Hermione more feed-back! He grabbed her the other day, purely by accident, but she thought it was hilarious. I love having them both but I do feel a little bit guilty that I can't just sit and smell him for hours like I did with Hermione. He still has his blood clot on his head but it has got smaller!
Did you read my insane ramblings last time about having another baby? Well it's getting worse!!! Chelley do you feel broody or am I just loony??
Well take care...hope you manage to get some more sleep and Mia's colic settles down. Though I must admit I've never heard of a BF baby having it....but I'm sure your HV knows what she's talking about. (My HV is very young...only just qualified....my old HV is on maternity leave!! It's not the age thing, it's more an experience thing....it's so obvious she's a bit green, bless her! When she came the other day Hermione is so nosey and wants to touch everything in their bags! Anyway the experienced ones are used to toddlers and give her something to play with....she just kept moving everything constantly and said things like...no please don't have that etc...I wanted to laugh, but also felt a bit sorry for her!)
Oh well best go...take care chuck, love Sarah xxx

Hi. Im not sure who has what and how old they are but your new babies sound great, like they are really thriving. My baby girl is now 3 and a half months, she weighs just over 6kilos, not sure what that is in lbs and oz. I did bf for 6 weeks but it was not enough for Eli and she went on the bottle, she does not eat huge amounts, still on a 150ml bottle, she wont take any more and i need her to really as she is not going through the night like she was before, i have been told she should be 210ml bottles 5 times a day but its impossible. Just put her to bed and all she had was 2oz as she was to tired to care. This seems to happen most nights. She is a really good baby, always laughing and smiling, but does not sleep much in the day, just cat naps for 20 or 30 mins, which is fine untill 7 or 8 o clock when i bath her and settle her down for bed. To tired to eat so there for i am back up at 3 again, i dont mind, its just that she was sleeping through when 5oz was enough but shes getting older but not increasing the amount she eats. Been on 5oz for about 6 weeks. ANY ADVICE. Sorry if i have gone on. Will call in again soon. Carly xxx
well suzy will be joining in on our thread now with birth of little fay!
For all the new ladies - i have 3 kiddies in all - my little Mia was born on 6th july - she weighed a whopping 10lb 2oz and was induced 2 weeks early as i had diabetes - which has now gone. she was born naturally - i used gas and air for pain relief. i did have a drip to speed up labour too.
My other 2 children are brandon who is 8 and shaunagh who is 10. SO 2 girls and one boy!
I am breast feeding Mia - and she has developed Colic - although i think its done to the amount of milk i drink - i think it has upset her tummy given her colic symptoms. I have now stopped drinking 3 pints of milk a day!
sarah did you say lox has a lump on his head? Mia has a lump on the back of her head - i have been told it is from labour and that it will go on its own - its about the size of a pea. one day it seems smaller the next it can seem bigger again.

Lox's lump is about the size of half of his head! It is a massive lump and because it is a blood clot it made him jaundice on about day 5! It is starting to shrink...but could take up to 6 weeks to go completely! It is harmless, thank God...unless we nick it with a ring etc, so I have to be careful when I bath him...the reason is with it being made of blood it would bleed lots, and he could lose a high percentage of his total blood amount very quickly! How are you doing? My breasts have settled down again now, thank goodness! They are still really big and hard on a morning...but that is down to him sleeping all night! I am going to express some this weekend so I can have a glass or 10 of wine!! Am not going to use a pump, I'll do it manually because those wicked contraptions are awful! I bought one last time and I threw it away! I couldn't cope with the pain it caused! Is Mia more alert now? Lox is...he's really nosey and lifts his head up to look at everything! He sleeps really well, even through the vacuum cleaner noise!! Hope the colic gets better, poor little lamb!
As for me I am mother to Hermione my daughter, born 3rd January 2004, who is 18 months old and my son Locksley who is nearly 4 weeks, born 3rd July 2005!! I had a 3 and a half hour delivery with him, used only gas and air and although he was 9 days late I didn't need to be induced! I had no stitches or tears even though he weighed an eye-watering 8lb 12oz's...as opposed to my daughter who was a mere 6lb 13.5 oz's!
Well I best go and change both nappies!! I need to start thinking about potty training Hermione but I don't fancy chasing her around with a potty whilst Lox is so young! At least you only have one lot of nappies Chelley!
Carly as for the problem you mentioned...All I can suggest is trying to get her hungry without her getting too tired to then eat! Take her out when you can for fresh air. My DD was always falling to sleep on my boob so wouldn't take enough and would then wake later. What I had to do was watch for her getting too comfortable and starting to nod off...and tickle her feet or change her position! Anything to keep her awake so she'd take more. Hope that helps?
Take care all, Love Sarah xxx

well i have finally graduated to the parenting forum and it feels really weird!
Yesterday i had an awful it was so weird. Fay would just not settle although she had been up until then. She was constantly feeding from me through out the night and day and my baby blues kicked in and i just couldnt stop srying at everything. I spoke to my family and friends and we decided that we would supplement her with a bottle which we gave her last night and then she had a bath and we went to bed at 10.30pm. She slept til 1am and i then fed her, then she woke again at 5am and i fed her again and then i had to wake her this morning at 9am. What a much better night that was. My proper milk has at long last kicked in, took some time but i think that is due to my anaemia though. So hence today, i feel like a differnt person. I know that there will be many more days like yesterday still to come but at least i know what i can do to try and relieve things. We are just off for a walk around our estate as i need some air what with not being able to do much at the mo but scar is healing well and i am having stitch out tomorrow... YIPPEE!!
take care sue xx

sue and Sarah - your babies are so good - my little mia feeds every 2 hours all through the night! i am breast feeding although i am going to give her a bottle in the afternoon and then again before her bed time just so she will sleep a little longer so i can do stuff - like get dressed!!
My chest is sooo heavy - cos mia feeds alot i am producing a lot of milk - i feel like pamela anderson!! Sarah - do you boobs hurt when they fill up with milk? I get a stingy sensation when mine do! feedign relieves it though!
I have had mia in bed with me since she was born - her cot is next to my bed - although i fall asleep with her in my arms - i dont move an inch as i subconciously know she is there! its odd as when i do put her in her cot - i sleep so heavy and wake up even more tired than what i was before!
I havent had a huge appetitite since having mia - have you suffered with this at all? I feel sick if i eat whilst mia is feeding to - its really odd!
I really wish little mia would get into a feeding routine! i could plan my days better then! my other 2 kiddies were much better with their feeding than she is!
hows everyones weight loss going? I have managed to now loose 2 stone - obviously nearly a stone of that was baby - with mia being 10lb 2oz - placenta being 2lb etc etc. but now it seems to have stopped at 13 stone 13! damn it! I am a stone heavier than when i started trying! mind you saying that my boobs must weigh nearly a stone!!! lol![]
Anyway better go and get dressed - yes get dressed! its 3.40pm and im in my pj's still! was my sons birhtday yesterday (8 years old now) and we are taking him to toys r us to spend his cash he received, tonight - if i ever get dressed that is!
bye for now,
chelley and Mia xx

well we have had two good nights now and i am feeling much better. fay seems to be happy with supplementing a bottle just before her bed time and i then feed her twice through the night. She tends to wake around 8ish which is fine with me. Scott i think is finding things harder than i am. He seems to get very stressed when she has a hearty cry and cant bear to see her get all flustered. I tried to explain to him last night that if he gets upset and stressed, fay will sense that and she will get herself even more worked up. I can fore see, that when he goes back to work on tuesday, that he will end up in the spare room so that he can get some sleep. That will make for a great relationship with me but if thats what he feels he needs, so be it!
well thats all for now. will send some piccies of fay to your email addresses
luv sue xx

its 3.30pm and guess what - i am still not dressed!! mia is though and the house is nice tidy!! i had to put her in the sling to be able to get some bits done!!
sue - fay feeds like mia - i give her a bottle feed at 9-10pm ish then she sleeps till 1am - and wakes again at 5am. she seems to have settled into this routine for past couple of days. Health visitor said her every 2 hour feeds could be when she is having a groth spurt!! I find that mia doesnt wake my hubby, pete, but then i do have her in bed with me and so a soon as she moves i wake up and feed her - she doesnt cry at night at all. although her colic pain time tends to start at 5am till 7am whereby she feeds for 2 mins and falls back asleep constantly from 5-7am.
with breast feding - do u find your boobs hurt when they fill up? my kinda sting - its nasty!!
pete can get a little stressed too when mia crys but he loves her being with him when shes happy! its nice now for him as he gives her , her night time bottle.
sarah did lox get any milia spots - poor mia has them on her face - you cant really see them just feel them like a fine rash.
i cant believe mia is 3 weeks old on wednesday - these weeks have flown by!!
hold on - door bell going - oh how very sweet - my hubby has just had delivered to me a huge bouquet of flowers - he is so sweet!
anyway gotta go and feed my greedy daughter!!!
ciao for now

Just a quickie....Yes my boobs do sting when they fill with milk...bit like pins and needles! Yes Lox does have spots...lots of little white ones! He did have a red rash 2 weeks ago and MW said it was a sweat/heat rash....he's a very sweaty baby!
Wish I had some flowers....all mine have now died that people got for me after Locksley was born. You lucky thing Chelley!
Had a down day today! Everything my kids have done I have found irritating...poor things! I just feel a bit trapped and isolated all of a sudden! Think the monotonous routine is getting to me...I am also feeling really awful about my weight and guilty that I can't spend as much time with my DD!! I find I count down the hours until the weekend when Joll will be home....then I want to get out of the house, he doesn't as he's been at work all week!! So most times it's easier to stay at home and I suffer more and more with cabin fever!
I know I'll feel better soon, I love my kids and Julian SO much....probably hormones! I haven't been down since he was born...In fact I sometimes worry how little emotion I have shown since he was born! Hope I don't get post natal depression again! I don't think I am....just the selling of this place, sorting out the creditors and looking for a new home is probably not helping! On top of running a house, having an 18 month old and a newborn!!
Oh well...sorry to be a bit down....will be better by next time!
Photo's of Mia et all are lovely....I especially like the cheeky one of her on your knee resting on her hands!! Awww bless!!!
Take care all and give those babies a kiss from me, Love Sarah xxx
