Laurie, you seem to be have a tough time of it and you must be exhausted if he is feeding that much. It won't be too long until you can really enjoy him..I know thats not much consolation at the moment. I do use cotton wool and water at home when I am not rushing about, otherwise when trying to do two things use wet wipes.

Emily, glad you are getting some sleep, its amazing how you function on the bare minimum! Where are you piccies????

Emma I think we should rename you wonder woman, I don't know how you manage all the day trips with 3 children, a trip shopping with 2 is bad enough! And dog walking is even worse, the pram, the dog and Emily all seem to wonder in different directions!!

Little, Katy is gorgeous! They are lovely pictures, and you both look so proud!

Well Daniel is certainly putting on weight, I am going to get him weighed on Friday but he is growing out of some of his clothes.

Anyway off to enjoy the rest of the sunshine
xx

Hi

Looked at all of the babies photos on MSN. They all look so cute. I'll try uploading Daniel's pics when i get the internet at my mum's (currently at my bro's house).

Little, thanks for sharing your birth story. I really should write mine but I'm too exhausted at the mo.

Helen, I hope that you are right and i haven't got long till i start enjoying Daniel. It's really hard work and i'm often crying with tiredness. I just hope that i don't develop post natal depression because i'm really struggling. This is one of the reasons that i'm still staying at my parents- i need all the help that i can get. Can't get much sleep as he's feeding so often but i do get help with nappy changes, clothes washing etc.

Hi to everyone else.

hey guys, checked out the pics on msn. they are all really cute! little, katy is adorable! i'm sattered at the moment, but madam is very active in the day. she's good at night, but she knows how to play up. she also seems to know that i find it hard to put her down and just let her cry... even when i'm gettin frustrated. laurie, sorry to hear ur finding things hard, just make the most of the help. and if ur worried bout the depression thing, talk to the health visitor. i did, and she referred me to a counsellor to help me talk through the issues. i still feel down most days, but i'm feeling better for discussing it with people outside the family.

had our first afternoon off yesterday, and went to the cinema while madam stayed with craig's auntie. it was strange without erin. but it gave us a break, which was great. hope ur all ok!

Well Daniel has kinda got himself into a routine, but then sometimes he goes a bit mad with the feeding, so I am assuming it is a growth spurt. He is ok at night, but the last 2 nights he has had trouble settling himself back to sleep after a feed.

Laurie, I wish there was something I could do to make it better for you....Try and speak to someone like Tigger suggested, better to try and nip it in the bud as they say. But probably what you need is some decent rest, are you able to express and get someone else to feed him and lock yourself away?

Tigger sorry to hear that you are feeling down too. But remember you have a fabbie holiday to look forward to!!! I left Daniel with my mum yesterday...the first time. I had to take Emily to her friends which is a hour drive away, as she was having a sleepover there. Taking Daniel would have meant stopping en-route and too much hassle. On the way back I was child free and it was quite strange...I even put the music on REALLY loud! But I miss them both , whe they are not there.

Hi to everyone else, I hope everyone is getting plenty of rest.

Hi girls thought i would add a chart for ages and can add other bits if you want to sugest anythingSmiler

laurie sorry you are having a hard time lately with the reflux my friends baby had this and it dose get better but will take time could you not try to introduce a formular feed or express so you can get some rest.

tigger you were right to ask for help if you need to talk to someone as it helps to talk to people who are not around you sometimes i didnot ask for help with daniel and i got PND.

hi little kays is a sweetie and bet seh was worth the wait.

helen jake is doing the mad feeding now and then and it usually means a growth spurt and as for the not settling at night after a feed it could be the heat.

hi to everyone else hope you are copeing well

well so far today has gone well have been to the library with the kids and done some shopping but it is like an expadition to get out at the miniute and has to be fitted in between feeds but jake is sleeping the other two are watching lazy town and have got a chicken in the oven.

also just thought i would put if anyone wants to talk i pop on atleast twice a day so feel free if you just want an adult 'conversation' (all be it typed)

back later bye

Hi All

Just a quick post from me as not got much time.
Like Laurie i am finding things hard, the c section means ai am dependeant on others for a lot of stuff and i cant really get on with things. Aidan needed to be woken up every 4 hours for feeds at first and i thought 'great' but the last couple of days hes only been going 1-2 hours which is hard at night. he has a tongue tie which makes it harder for him to BF. Seeing midwife tomorrow and hope to get him referred to have it clipped. I also have infection due to c section so feeling rough.

Hang in there with me Laurie! Am so jealous of you others with babies that sleep! Am worried about when DH goes back to work but i suspect we will cope. Not sure how much i will be able to log on to this site in the next few weeks.

Anyway got to go DH informs me that Aidan is 'rooting' - he only got fed an hour ago!!!

The joys......

Anna x

Hey Ladies

Isn't this Mummy lark hard work!
I am loving having Tom, but like a lot of you, I am struggling a bit with the old 'feeling down moments' as well! I have suffered with depression in the past so I am fully aware what can happen. I am very on the ball with myself, and know what I am like, so I have booked myself in to see my cognitive behavioral therapist on Friday! I pay privately - hence the quick appointment! As Helen has said, its better to nip these things in the bud before they get too bad!

Anna - sorry to hear about the c section. It must be very traumatic, I do feel for you.
My DH went back to work yesterday, and it was hard, however at the same time it was quite nice being just Tommy and myself- we were able to have our own little routine Smiler

Tom also has a slight tongue tie, however the GP saw him today and was not at all worried about it!

Hope everyone else is ok?

Take care and I will log on again soon
Love Emily x x x x

Hi All

Well Aidan been asleep for 4 and a half hours and now i am worrying that he has slept too long and should wake hime for a feed. You cant win! Midwife been today and he has put on 3oz which is good.
Emily - midwife says Aidan's tongue tie is only slight and as he is latching on fine when we lie down and is putting onweight etc she thinks that the latching on in other positions is due to the'architecture of my breasts' - in other words they are big and full! She said to keep feeding lying down and that he would learn to latch on with more confidence and then be able to latch on in other positions later. She did remind me we are only 11 days in but it feels like a life time already doesnt it.

Hope all goes well with you CBT - very wise to keep the communication going. The fact that we are all finding things a bit tough indicates that we are all NORMAL!!!!!!!!

Midwife says my scar is healing - so penicillin working Smiler However still a long way off from being completely better.

Right am off to stare at my baby and see if he is going to wake up!

Anna x

I am glad that we are all the same! As you say Anna - the fact that we are all thinking/feeling the same, does indicate that we are normal! Smiler

Hi all

Anna, sorry you had to have a c-section, they are so restricting afterwards. I hope you are recovering well and have plenty of people to help you.

Emily I know what you mean about DH going back to work, you miss them but its nice to try and get a routine. My DH has 3 weeks off soon, so he will be back under my feet. Good luck with the CBT...I think we all have our days. I felt awful last week and sat and cried in the park...whilst trying to eat an ice-cream...not attractive. I was tired, had mastitis, 4 workmen continually making a noise and a mess,my house wasn't my own and I was confined to the lounge all day, a daughter who was being a pain and a DH who was going away for 3 days. Anyway it all seems so much better now, although roll on next week my loft conversion should be finished and the house will be mine again!!!! Unfortunately it all needs a damn good clean, and I am trying to ocnvince DH to let me have someone in to do it. Anyway back to you!! Obviously the |GP is not worried about Tom, is he feeding ok??

Emma, I really don't know how you do it! I am managing to get us all up and showered and Emily to nursery by 7.45am! And yesterday cooked a roast and made blackberry and apple crumble (My fav), but I am exhausted by the end of the day!

Hi Tigger hope you are keeping ok.

Well off to put my feet up my little man is in bed...probably until 10pm, so I shall enjoy a cuppa and a little square of chocolate.
