So my son is 9 and he still sleeps in our bed, does anyone have any advise. Do you think he will go when he is ready or should I make an effort to force him in his own bed

I don't think he will ever go on his own accord, maybe not untill his teens any way.
I think you should state clearly to him that he is a big boy and its time for him to sleep in his own bed. If he has a birthday coming up, you can use that as a pin point wwhen to start, if not make one up.
It will take quite a few nights/week or so of upset for you and your son, but be persistant and he will soon realise that you will not go back on your decision. if you do go back on it and keep stopping and starting, you will never get the upper hand and he will rule your bed until he doesn't want to.
