I hope you and little Maisy are well and all the other May Mums.
Little Grace was weighed this morning and has lost 10oz so have been told to express some milk to top her up a bit after her feed.
She is waking every 2 hours now to be fed in the night which is a bit much as I am sooo tired and having all these visitors I don't seem to have time to rest anymore. I'm sure it will get better in time.
Love to you all

We registered Rhys' birth today, so he is a real person now. I saw someone with a baby who looked younger than Rhys, I can't believe it he's 2 weeks already and seems to have lost some of his newborn'ness.

Maisy has seen the health visitor today and is now 7ibs 1oz so is doing really well, she keeps holding her breath though on a few occassions and we have to give her a little poke so she starts breathing again so Im a little worried. Health visitor says it is normal and its probably mucus on her chest but I have an appointment at the Doctors tomorrow just so he can check her out. Been out to Bingo whilst DB had Maisy and its been a lovely break, Ive missed her like mad but enjoyed having a little ME time. Won 20 so gonna treat myself to some new pampering stuff. Oh sorry if this is TMI but I think I have piles too....Went to the loo on Tuesday and it was soooo painful (Alot like childbirth[]) and thought that would be it but now Im ready to go again and darent as its sooo sore there and its making me feel really poorly....sorry for whinging but I seem to get over one hurdle and end up with something else, Im sat here as I type tensing up as I darent go!!!! Anyone else had any post natal problems or is it just me who seems to have had the full blooming list of them? Anyway on a lighter note, I forgot my password to MSN but think Ive remembered it so I will try and get a photo of Maisy on tonight.
Love To All

claire - hope maisy is just playing with you re the breathing thing, let us know what the doc says. well done on the bingo!! sorry about the poss piles, apart from the uti i had last week, i have been lucky re postnatal problems. apart from the sore nipples too i suppose, tho they are calming down and nearly better. good pics claire

had thomas weighed at the baby clinic he is now 7lb 10oz and looks huge to me but still only the size of a newborn baby and he is now 5weeks old
he is doing really well and just this week we have started to get him into a bedtime routine bath bottle and bed by 6 oclock at the latest an have the baby monitors on downstairs before this we just had him downstairs with us but he wasnt settling he seems more settled now and sometimes goes 4 hours for feeds and takes 4-5 ozs
i am feeling a lot better now still a bit tired but things are getting better and i feel like i am coping more
i definetly reccomend tesco nappies only 1.60 for a pack of 24 and fit a lot better than pampers or huggies and nearly half the price
also baby swings arev great thomas loves his and his vibrating chair

We took Rhys out for his first picnic today, it was lovely, well we thought so. Rhys spent most of the time asleep, then we decided to go for a pram push and must have walked a mile, after which Rhys decided to wake up and scream to be fed. We had to make it all the way back to the car with a screaming baby in the pram so I could feed him. Poor thing!
Glad you are getting on with the Tesco nappies Kells, they are better aren't they!!!
Claire I keep suffering with the mood swings. Poor DB keeps getting the brunt of my tears. I feel so tired and emotional at times, each day is getting better. I had piles before pregnancy so I can really sympathise. Luckily mine seems ok at the moment. It's just my stitches that feel tender.
Katy, I do feel for you on the 2 hour feeds.

Hope your all well, its been a glorious weekend here in Barnsley, the sunshine has made me feel so much more cheerful.
Rachel - The picnic sounded lovely, and the walking is definately exercise for you and fresh air for little Rhys.
Katy - Im doing 2 hour feeds in the day but Maisy is going 4 hours at night, Its so stressful sometimes as you just get ready to do something and its feeding time again....are you feeling the same?
Went into town on my own yesterday, it was lovely but walking back seemt to take so much longer as its all uphill and the pram definately made a difference....my calves were aching all evening! LOL. Oh well it will help shift the pregnancy piles! Got on the scales in Boots and the week before I gave birth I was 17st 2 and now Im 15st 10 so its going in the right direction....still feel like a frumpy moose though and my tummy doesnt seem to have gone down much! Having a lovely day to ourselves today, DB working and fibbed to family saying I have plans so I get a day in peace. Im getting a little fed up of visitors...I know its natural and lovely that they want to spend time with us but I been getting really down about not having any space and not getting chance to relax. Am gonna have a lovely afternoon chilling and getting some rest and sorry girls for the moan!
Love Claire and Maisy xxx

Hope you are all OK, it's nice to still have somewhere to say 'hello' to you all!
Claire, just looked at your piccies on MSN, how sweet! Maisy looks so dinky! We have the same changing mat as you, but the towel thingy is hardly ever on there cos Verity likes nothing better than a good wee (and sometimes poo too) just when you think it's safe to take her nappy off!!! Sorry to hear about your piles, you poor love, I'm not feeling 100% normal myself yet, and going to the loo is still a bit unpredictable - my digestive system seems to have gone haywire - I feel really bloated after meals and my tummy sticks right out. Anyone else have this too, or any suggestions for what to do about it?
Rachel, I've been feeling teary here and there too, particularly when Verity just wants to feed, feed, feed and DH gets down cos he feels he can't do anything to help, but he's keeping the house up together and making me drinks left right & centre, bless him.
Kels, glad things are going better, it sounds like Thomas is doing really well.
Hi Katy and Jen too, hope Tom and Grace are behaving beautifully for their mummies!
Verity is still piling on the ounces, last week she put on 12oz, she was 7lbs 14oz, so this week she should top the 8lbs mark! I can't believe she has grown so much, but KT as you say it's weird to think that lots of newborns are heavier than her! After my last post her sleep pattern went backwards (typical, I spoke too soon!) & she was only sleeping for 2 hr stints again at night, last night she stretched it to 3ish so hopefully we're on the right track again. We have absolutely no routine in the day though, and sometimes it really gets me down, I guess I just have to follow her lead & adapt to not being in control, but I do find it frustrating. Do you guys think it is a result of being breastfed? I often think she's finished a feed only for her to wake up again and want to carry on a few minutes later. Aaagghh! Anyway, I'll stop moaning now, this post is far too long already!
Take care all Speak soon Love Nic x

Hello all!!!! I have returned to the land of the living!!!!!
This is actually the first day I have felt up to going on the PC, sorry for the complete disappearing act but its all been a bit difficult. Havent had the chance to look over what I missed on the pregnancy thread but just had a quick look over all your messages on here, sounds like everyone is doing well.
Well here is my news then.....
Matthew Paul Ford was born on 26/05/06 at 02:30am weighing in at a whopping 9lbs 6.5 ozs. I can really understand why I was so uncomfortable that last week now!
The labour itself was ok, I had an epidural as soon as I could but then had to have my waters broken and then have the drip as I wasnt progressing fast enough.
Matthew was facing the wrong way so wasnt coming down the birth canal properly...the doctor had to turn him twice before she could get the forcepps on him to pull him out that way. Shoulder dystosia (sp?) added to the fun and then to top it all off I lost a litre of blood from the episiotomy so am now severely anemic!
Anyway, he is soooo goregous he makes it all worth it. He sleeps all day and wakes pretty much every 2-3 hours on a good night so Jen I know how you feel. Last night I think I managed about 40 mins in my longest strtch of sleep - blaaaah!!! Midwife is still coming to see me every day and has said will be a long time yet until she can discharge me as my stitches have got infected and I will probably need to go back into hospital to be re-stitched. Its all my fault really as I refused a blood transfusion after the birth, but nobody told me exactly what a difference having one would make, but hey ho, I was just so desperate to get home with my little bundle!!
Well, I think that I have probably waffled on long enough now, I will put some pictures on MSN as soon as I can
Jen, just saw your little Grace, she is so goregous, well done you!
Will try to sign on a bit more regularly to keep in contact with everyone, just been so ill that I have hardly been out of bed so far!
Speak soon
Love LIsa and Matthew xxxx

I'm with you Nic on being able to come here and say hello []
I started using a nice towel on Rhys' change mat too, but soon learnt that is was a costly mistake. We use kitchen roll under his bum to take the chill off and it can be chucked when he decides to wee or poo. Glad it's not just me.
Nic, I'm finding Rhys can go 3-4 hours between feeds but I have a theory about the bigger the baby, the bigger the stomach, therefore they will be able to hold more food = go longer between feeds. I feed Rhys and often offer him my other breast, I also try and keep him awake while he's feeding. Wobbling his leg or arm if he falls asleep on the job. Hang in there chuck, I'm sure it'll start getting better soon.
Clare, well done on your walk. I went for one this afternoon too, but only managed 20 minutes. I'm going to try and make it last longer tomorrow. I live in a really small village and it's quite limiting on where I can walk with the pram. Shame we can't all meet up daily for a virtual walk!!! I did loose a lot of weight after having Rhys, but my weight has stuck for the last 2 weeks. Everyone says I'm looking slimmer, but I don't feel it. I'm trying to eat all good things and no naughty things, and I'm sure walking and breast feeding help too, but I wish the weight would start coming off. Good for you having a day to yourself. I'm going to try and do the same tomorrow.
The health viitor came today, Rhys now weighs 9lb 5oz, and he's really piling on the weight now. The health visitor said not to change my diet or cut out any meals as it's really important that Rhys' feeding is maintained. I had naughty thoughts earlier of trying to cut down my food intake. Oh well, the guilt wont let me now. His umbilical cord has not fallen off yet. It's nearly 3 weeks now! She said it looked like a thick cord and will probably be on him for another week.
Hope everyone is well and happy
Rachel & Rhys

Forgot to mention that the other side effect of my anemia was that my milk never came in, sob sob and I was sooo determined to breast feed. Matthew is doing fine on the formula but also gutted that I dont get to burn up all those extra calories. I'll never know the concrete boob syndrome!!!!!
