Oh Jo sweetie,

It's not you at all, obviously something isn't agreeing with him. Like you said, you know him, and you know something isn't right.
Don't let the dr fob you off, trust your instinct. Is there another dr in the practise you could see?
I know the dr's make you feel like a neurotic, paranoid mother, but you're the only person who can stand up for your baby. If you and his daddy don't then who will.
I have a friend who was made to feel stupid by her dr cos she was so worried about her little boy. She knew there was something wrong from the moment he was born, but no one would take her seriously. Turns out he has severe acid reflux, as the little flap of skin that should have grown didn't ( I think I have that right!) Anyway, he's now 3, and it's still not resolved!

Would it be worth trying another brand of milk? She was prescribed Gaviscon which helped. She also took him for Cranio therapy (or something like that!) Anyway she said that helped him too, it's when they massage the babies head or something! (you can tell I don't know alot about it!!)
I guess above all, just keep talking to dh, (and us) don't bottle up your feelings. You know really it's not you, and at the end of the day it may just be a horrible faze he's going through, and will eventually wear off.

Keep smiling hun, it will get better.

Hey Everyone,

Gosh where is everyone? Busy with their little angels I presume Big Grin

I've just handed Jake to his daddy and escaped upstairs for some 'me' time. Jake has become really hard work this last week, he cries at the drop of a hat...any advice/ideas as to why would be appreciated. I though he was teething and have been putting gel in his mouth all day long but doesn't seem to stop the screaming! Dreding water babies tomorrow cos i know he'll scream all the way through it Frowner

Jo, hope your doing ok, i asked my friend about the milk she was prescribed, she can't remember what it was called but it really helped her little boy. Hope your getting some help off the gp.

Hope everyone else is ok, bye for now

Hells & Jake xxx

Hi Girls

Just thought I would pop on and give you an update.
PND seems to have hit me last week. I stopped bleeding and now I just can not stop crying. Health Visitor says she thinks it is borderline, but came out today and will be comming out to see me at the end of the week.

This is just not like me as I am such a positive person, feels like I have been knocked sideways.

Millie is doing ok, have good nights and bad but she always seems to be as good as gold during the day.

Anyway Im off for a bath for some quite time and probably another cry (I wish I had shares in Kleenex!!)

Take Care and I hope you are all doing well.

Emma

Hi All,

Hells, Jake could still be teething, the gel never worked for either of my two, i swear by the powder (Ashtons and Parsons) or something like that it was called, but was really really gd (i think it was herbal) and had a calming effect, which i suppose would be good for Jake even if he wernt teething. Have got no idea why he would just turn in to a crying baby all of a sudden though.
Unless, do you think he's been in your arms more lately? or have you had more visitors than usuall (& he's been in there arms)? not sure what else it could be. Sorry xx

Emma, I have days when i feel just like you. After my two oldest childrens father died suddenly, i swore i would look at life a whole lot diffrently and not take anything for granted, laugh more and the list goes on and on. However i did change though, and im not usually a person thats down for more than a day.
This pregnancy and birth seems to have pushed buttons in me that leave me unable to control my own emotions at the moment and thats a bit scarey.
I did think i had a bit of PND, but after my check the other day and being asked if i "love my baby" im thinking that maybe i have baby blues. I love Ney to bits, even if sometimes i really do feel like im not coping, and i dont ever wish her any harm, just sometimes feel like ive cried all my tears out. Am i wrong in saying that cos i dont wish Ney any harm i dont have PND?
Well just wanted you to know Emma, that your not alone. Todays a good day for me (even though it dont take much to turn good days in to bad at the moment) xx

Ney had her first jab today and was absolutely devastated and has been in someones arms almost ever since (shes not allowing you to put her down at the mo). She's also off her feeds and has had a temperature which i seem to have brought down with the Calpol (god i love the person who invented Calpol).
How you doing Sab? I know Eloise had her jab today too didnt she.

Also wanted to know how everyone's bleeding has gone. Sorry to be so nosey and personal. Just that i bled up untill three weeks after i had Ney, then stopped and havnt bled again since (she's 9 weeks old tomo) just wondered (not that im missing it) when i should expect to have a period? i hate not knowing Frowner

Also another whinge, but is anyone else having any problems with there coxics? i done some damage to mine having Ney and if anything the pains getting worse not better. The Dr's advice last week was take painkillers the pain will stop one day.
However im not one to pump the drugs and dont want to have to keep taking painkillers, and although i had the same pain when i had my son, it had almost disappeared by this point, not got worse!

Right, Ney's up again so im off
Take care all

Hi all,

Char, Eloise had her jabs yesterday I took my mum with me as it was also my 8 week check and she held her but stupidly I stayed in the room and boy did she cry and so did I! I wasn't like that with the other two and have even taken other peoples children to have there jabs so felt really silly, but thankfully she calmed down quickly and has been fine ever since I did give her some calpol but she has been ok so far.

Also burst into tears when I had a chat on my own with the doctor, did anyone else have to fill in a form about there mood before their check? I did and they said my score was quite high, I told the doctor I think it is all to do with my mum leaving she is leaving mine today then flying tomorrow Frowner, the health visitor is going to do a home visit next week so can chat to her about things then.

The doctor is also now going to refer Eloise to see a consultant about her talipes and will try to get an appointment through quickly as we have had to wait for ages, he did say she might have to wear a brace Frowner, will just be glad when someone has looked at it.

Anyway sorry for the me post best be off my mum has just got back and want to spend some time with her before she goes.

Hope everyone doing ok

Take care

Char, thanks for the advice I saw those powders in boots the other day so i'll give them a whirl! Really dont know what to do about the crying, it seems to be worse when he's overly tired or as you said Char when there's alot of people around, i took him into work yesterday and he was fine for about 20 mins then started to scream and wouldn't stop until i left Red Face, the bad thing is though that it only seems to be me that can settle him...last night dh fed him and tried to put him to bed and yet again he screamed, until i went in and he stopped, i reckon its separation anxiety only 5 months early Big Grin

Sab, big hugs to you, can't imagine how you must be feeling with your mum going away, hopefully you have the love and support of your hubby and kids to look after you Wink

Emma, I too have days were i could cry and sometimes do, i try to get out for a walk with the pram to give me something to do (plus it usually stops Jake crying!) Hopefully the health visitor can give you the advice and support that you need.x

Char, i bled for about 3 to 4 weeks I think then had a period two weeks after that, working off a 28 day (which i never had anyway) I should have another one next monday, but we'll see. Think its just a case of waiting to see when it arrives? I haven't missed them though Big Grin

Hope everyone else is ok

Hi All,

Sab, hope you had a great day with your mum xxx
& safe journey wishes for her for tomo x

I didnt fill in a form when i saw the Dr. Wish i had maybe. Dont know wether im coming or going at the mo.

Fingers crossed that you get Eloise's hospital app through soon. & we are all allowed a me post every now and then xx

Hells, think i'll be getting the powder my self soon. Had got Ney in to a sort of routine (before her jab) she was on 5oz's every 5 hours. Thats all gone out the window since her jab and now she's feeding and taking less, which means she's back to feeding more often!

Maybe Jake is in more of a routine than you thought he was, so doing things that he dosnt do everyday like visiting your work place might make him anxious.
& the fact that dad's out at work during the day and Jake's seeing only you for most of it means when he needs comforting he's gonna want you more. That will change though, Jake's just getting use to things.
I do remember that with my older two, but they were a bit older than Jake.

Ive had an up and down day today and have felt all day like i was due on, still no sign though & thanks for letting me know how ur AF went Hells.

Right well im off, my hands tired as im sitting here typing with Little miss madam on my lap!

Take care all

Hiya Everyone

Hope you're all well, i got jake some of those ashton and parsons powders and wil be trying them later so fingers crossed!

Char, could Ney be having a growth spurt that has knoecked her feeding routine out? I know jake went from sleeping most of the night and waking at 4am to waking every hour or so during what we think was his growth spurt...he's gone back to 'normal' now Roll Eyes

Well, i was having a very bad day this morning, couldn't stop crying then on top of it all MIL showed up Mad had a go at dh for not putting her central heating on when she was on holiday(?), whats that all about she's on holiday??? then i gave her a picture of jake in a frame cos they not got any in their livivng room and she made no comment whatsoever, not even a 'isn't he gorgeous' or anything. She threw a cardigan at DH that she'd bought for jake, its a 0-3 mths which is too small, he has been in 3-6 for about a fortnight now, if she bothered to show an interest she'd know Madi didn't know whether to scream in anger or cry Eeker Luckily i've been out on my own this afternoon to asda (huggies nappies are on offer) and boots so feel tonnes better Smiler

Hope everyone is ok, sab how you doing since your mum left? Hope your ok, we're here if you need to 'talk'

Bye for now

Hi all,

Well not doing to well at the moment Frowner, Hells, thanks for asking after me sorry you aren't feeling too good blinking families are a nightmare. A bit of retail therapy always works I have been shopping with a friend today and spent too much!!

Well I didn't end up spending the last couple of hours with my mum as I was so upset I hid upstairs as I didn't want her to feel bad then when I did go downstairs I told her I was going out and to lock the door when she left!!, so that was my goodbye to her!! I just couldn't face it so went round to see my friend and my mum left while I was there. I then spent the whole of that day in tears she sent me a lovely text to say she was going to miss me loads which started me off again.

Am feeling slightly better today (well no tears anyway!).

Am also really tired Eloise was having a gap of 6-7 hours at night but has gone back to 3-4 hourly so am feeling terrible Frowner, will I ever get a good nights sleep again???? Confused

Hi to everyone else

Take care

Sabrina, sorry that you're feeling down since your mum left, can't imagine how you mst be feeling, do you think that maybe Eloise is picking up on your upset and that has made her unsettled? Or maybe she is having a growth spurt? Yes, retail therepy definatley helps! I've got my eye on a new handbag (the ten + i've got just aren't enough Big Grin) so may just purchase it on monday Wink

Has anyone tried them ashton and parsons powders? They do stop Jake from crying and definatly calm him down (or so it seems) but it seems to take me twice as long to get him to go to sleep after he has had them, has anyone else found this?

Jo, how are you?

Bye for now

Hi all

I'm ok. I've finally got an appointment to get my mri results, 29th Jan. That's when I find out what is wrong with my liver. I've not heard anything about my biopsies yet, they did say it would be 2 to 4 weeks for those, so I'm not panicing yet!!

I think we have finally got somewhere with Jayden. I spotted in Lloysd pharmacy some cow and gate comfort milk. Went home and looked on cow and gate's website, found the stuff and read about it. It's for comfortable digestion. It said it's easier for baby to digest. If they have trouble with wind, crying, clenching fists, they may have a sensitive tummy. So I bought some on Tuesday eve, and since then he has been a different baby. But we are not sure if it's the milk or the fact that he is now 13 weeks old and colic had gone, but we daren't stop the colief just incase!!!! But we are still having problems with him having bigger bottles. He will very happily take a full 3oz bottle, completly drain it. But if we give him a 4oz bottle he won't even take 3 oz out of it!!!! So we are offering him two 3oz bottles. He is hungrier on his last day feed (10pmish)and on his first day feed (7-10am ish). Can any one shed any light? The health visitor's aren't worried as he is still putting weight on, and will only worry when he stops putting weight on or if he starts to lose weight, which i suppose is fair enough.

He is doing well with his boots and bar. Took him a week to really settle.

Sab... If you are a member on facebook, have a look at clubfoot and the ponetti method on the groups. I have joined both groups. I have also put some piccies on there. It's great how well the treatment has worked on Jayden's feet. At birth, his feet were turned in and the soles of his feet were facing each other (it looked like he was praying with his feet) and now they are normal. When he is wearing his boots and bar, if you stand him up, he will sometimes lock his knees and you can nearly let go of him and he will stand!!! He's goning to have really strong legs, i think that's from having both legs in plaster (they weighed about 1Lb 4oz). He is currently wearing the boots and bar 23 hours a day and that is for another 10 weeks, then he has to wear them for 14 hours a day until he is 4/5 years old.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Hey Girls,

How is everyone, I just can't seem to find te time these days to post, although I do pop on and check how you all are! Smiler

We're doing really well here, had a bit of a melt down a couple of weeks ago, Katie had totaly got her days and nights muddled, and after a week of very little sleep, it was me waking dh up, by crying, once I started I couldn't stop! She was feeding almost constantly, or just using me as a comfort, and I was geting so sore and so tired, but since that night, (fingers crossed) we seem to have turned a bit of a corner, and she's sleeping reasonably well.
H/v came this morning and she has gone up from 8lb 7oz to 9lb 12oz in a couple of weeks!! I am so proud and pleased!!! Big Grin Smiler Big Grin Smiler Big Grin

Anyway,
Em, I hope you're ok now, and you're getting the support you need. Well done with the weight loss, It's so hard to get motivated when it's dull and cold xx

Sab, Hugs hun, how are you feeling now? Better I hope. Have you had an appointment about Eloise's talipes yet? Hope her sleeping has got better too, I'm sure you'll feel better when you have a good nights sleep.xx

Frenchie, How are you and Reuben doing? How the feeding coming along? Do you still have your fantastic night time routine going? I wish Katie would be a bit more consistant at night, but the h/v did say that breast fed babies tend to take a bit longer to find a routine. xx

Vicki, how are you and Ethan doing?

Char, I am still bleeding a little, (enough to have to wear something!! Roll Eyes) Spoke to the h/v this morning and she said it's normal to go this long if you're breast feeding. Might be normal, but it's blimin' annoying!!!

Hells, What is it with mil's???!!! Mine bought Katie a dress which is thick fleece and long sleeved age 6-9 months!!! When was she born? December.....6-9 months will be June, July August time!!!! She will never wear it then! Sometime's they just don't think. Hope Jake is settling better for you now.

Jo, Thats fantastic about Jayden, I'm so pleased something has worked, although it's not very good that you have had to work it out without the help of a dr!!
No idea about his bottle thing!! sorry, but I guess the h/v is right. As long as he's putting on weight thats the main thing. Maybe keep topping up the first bottle so it gradually has more in it without him realising? I'm glad he adapted so well to his boots and bar too. Time will soon fly.

Rach, how are you and Chloe? Hope you're ok.

Cludgie, how are you and Sonny?

I'm sorry if I've missed anyone, Katie has just woken, so I guess it's time for another feed!! Love to you all and babies xx

xx Nicki xx

Hi everyone,

sorry for not being on much - I don't seem to get much time!! can't think why...

Emma, how are you feeling? Try not to be too hard on yourself and let others help you - hope offers of help are forthcoming if you need/want them!

Sab, how are you doing now that your mum has moved? I can totally sympathise - my parents have always lived about an hour away, but my mum has had a bit of a breakdown so isn't coping very well with life at the moment, won't drive etc, so I don't really feel like she's my real mum at the moment.

Nicki, glad Katie is starting to sort herself into a routine -

Don't speak to soon about Reuben being in a routine! Last night he fed at 9.30 and 3 (no complaints from me... a full 4 hours sleep between 11and3!) but today woke up at 6am and has been tired and grizzly all day - usually has a 2 hour nap at lunch, but it didn't happen, much to our detriment!!

could Katie's difficult stretch a couple of weeks ago have been her 3 week growth spurt? we had a similar thing for a couple of days - the little man wanted to feed constantly in the evenings. DH pointed out that although he was only 2 weeks old, it was his 3rd week, so could have been growth spurt.

I'm meeting up with some of my NCT class tomorrow - out of seven of us there were 3 c-sections and a couple of rather scary birth stories, so it will be good to see them all and babies!

Jo - great news about Jayden, really hope this is a breakthrough and he feeds and settles much better.

Hells - I'm with you on the mil's! mine is generally ok, but want to see R all the time and they're descending for the day on Saturday - again! GILs (grandparents in law!) are even more frustrating from my point of view - we too have fleece outfits for 6months... for the summer!

Love to you all,

Frenchie x

Hi all,

Hells, so did you give in and buy that new handbag??! Wink

Jo, Glad things are getting better with Jayden, and thanks for the advice about the talipes I had a look at Jaydens pics on facebook what a cutie, Eloise is now his friend on there!!

Nicki, yay to Katies weight gain, Eloise was weighed just over a week ago at my eight week check but she did it in kilos and forgot to change it to pounds and oz so have no idea what she weighs! I guess around 11 1/2lb ish. No still not heard anything about Eloises talipes appointment Mad but I suppose he only did the referal just over a week ago so will give it a few more days before I start losing my rag! Also I didn't stop bleeding until six weeks boo to that!.

Frenchie, i'm feeling a bit better thanks am trying to keep busy and not think about it too much we are flying out there three weeks tomorrow so am just trying to focus on that.

Well Dh and I went out for the first time last night since Eloise was born we went to the theatre to watch Mamma Mia it is the third time we have seen it twice in London but its on at Bristol so we went there and it was brill to feel like im starting to get a little bit of me back! as we didn't go out when I was pregnant either due to the bleeding or feeling soooo tired. Dh was more worried about leaving baby than me she was fine anyway, it was my 11 year old Ds that was a pain and threw a paddy when we were out Roll Eyes

Anyway best go as baby is calling(again!)

Take care all

Sab x
