Oh Rach, Hugs hun (((()))) What a crap day you're having. Is there any chance you can get out for a walk? It may help wear out ds a bit, and calm Chloe and help her sleep? Then maybe you can grab 5 minutes. Or just go for a drive in the car, daft I know, but a change of scenery may break the cycle a bit. Or putting him in the bath? Trouble is, when your're tired it's hard to get the energy up to do anything. When is dh home? can he have them for a bit so you could have a bath and some peace? I don't know what else to suggest, just remember the day has to end at some point!!! Hope it gets better hun, gotta go, Katie's crying for yet another feed!!!! All I seem to do these days! xx Nicki xx Ps hi everyone else xx

Hi all, Rach, hope things are a bit better now. I agree with Nicki, If you ever feel like that again then is there any way you can get out for a change of scenery? If DH is home go out for an hour, pop to a friends for a cup of tea. Im saying that as thats exactly what i did last night. Drove to a friends and we both sat in my car chatting for a bit (not much of a gettaway) but was definately the little break that i needed. If not, have you got a gd friend who can come and sit in with the kids for half an hour or so? So you can maybe go for a walk, its a break from it all. Hell's, think your Cousin's gonna have a rude awakening when there new arrival makes his or her appearance. lol. Well as for us, had Ney weighed yesterday and she weighs..................12lb 10 and a half oz's. Can you believe it (she was 7 wks and 6 days then). My little Chubby! She's feeding every four to five hours and taking 5 oz's each time. The Colic hit its peek last night, and Ney cried from around 6.30 last night to middnight. I had to get out. Could not console her and my head was banging! soon as DP came in that was it, i was off. Still came back in to a screaming child, but was more chilled and able to deal with her a little better then after my little break. Had my six week check today and told the Dr of the problems i have with Ney and the Colic, just to be asked, are you bonding with Baby? do you love her? Well i tell you, im lucky i am here tonight, i could have smacked her one (& end up getting nicked). Surely im not the only parent suffering with a child with Colic. Well needless to say i left there steaming, and i guess i'll have to continue with the Infacol (even though i think Ney is getting use to having it) and its not having such a great effect anymore. Anyone got any advice on the Colic? and also whats your babies weights, and how often are they feeding. Im getting a bit worried about how much Ney feeds (only that the weight gain seems to be so much). I know babies only eat as much as they can but i dont want to be over feeding her. Well all advice welcome Char xxxx

hi everyone... a day of firsts for me today... first time into town shopping, first time brestfeeding in public in a cafe and now first time on the lap top while feeding! house a tip but feeling good with today's achievements! Emma, please don't beat yourself up about flabby tummy - you only gave birth a month ago and i'm already impressed that you weigh less than before getting pg! I only weigh a couple of kilos more, but was a bit heavier than i should have been ! I'm with you on the horrile flabby tum though...give it time hun x Rach, hope your day got better and DS cheered up. How was DD this eve? Jo, hope Jayden is continuing to get better, sounds really nasty. nicki, i'm with you on the forever feeding lark! OK, question for the day, are you teying to get your little ones into routines or just letting them find a routine. DS seems to feed 3 hourly fairly consistently and we try to keep him up a bit in the eve so he sleeps longer at night. He tends to feed 10pm ish, 2am ish and then 6.30-7a, ish, although i hear 3 weeks is a growth spurt so that mightt go out of the window soon! would be interested to hear what you're all doing... just read bits of gina ford, anyone doing her routine? Happy Tuesday to you all frenchie x

Thanks for your kind words and suggestions. I'm much better today. The problem yesterday was that we had gotten all ready to go for a walk (a 20 minute ordeal with 2 kids!) and as soon as I opened the door, it was raining. That's not normally a problem except that I had lent my rain cover and rain coat to a friend the day before because she had come over and forgetten hers. Sooo.. then DS threw a fit that we couldn't take a walk and it went way down hill from there! I think he wet himself 7 times in total, most out of anger. Luckily, Chloe was good yesterday. She didn't go to bed until 1am, but at least she wasn't screaming. Anyway, today has been so pleasant. Went for a nice long walk and everybody is happy! Frenchie, I'v just left both my kids to find their own schedule. Noah did within a few weeks I think, and Chloe's just starting to find hers. (I think Christmas kind of messed hers up with all the visitors!) You've got an amazing night feed thing going on for a 2 week old!! That's not bad at all! I hope he keeps that up for you. Char, wow, sounds like Nev is qte a healthy little baby! By the way, do you have a big exercize ball? The ones they also use for labour? I find that when Chloe gets really fussy she seems to settle when I hold her and bounce on the ball. Well, chloe needs a feed.. hopefully will post morre later. xx

I even well up when I look at Ethan or someone tells me how beautiful he is. I hope it passes soon. Im escaping in a little while, going down to mothercare to get a few things and leaving him at home with daddy. I figure i'll be alot quicker and it will give me some time on my own to clear my head. Hi everyone. Well Jayden is still screaming, having done lots of research on internet, we strongly feel that Jayden's problem is that he is Lactose intolerant. Now we just have to convince docs that is what it is. Poor little man screams half way through a bottle, it's like we put poison in the bottle. Hubby is taking him to docs tomorrow. He's really good at standing up to people and getting his point across without swearing at them!
Jayden had his boots and bar fitted on Monday, he's settled really well with them. I haven't!!!!!!! He had his first bath in the big bath last night. He loved it. (He has always enjoyed his baths, it may be because up until monday he could only have one a week and that's when we had to take his plasters off). Anyway.. Hubby is out at the minute with him, buying him a new pram and a new car seat. Because his legs are set apart, he no longer fits in his car seat or pram!!!!!!! So we now have a complete set up to sell.
Me: I had my MRI scan last Thurs, and am now waiting for the results, just hoping that there is nothing too serious wrong with my liver. I'm in hospital tomorrow having my yearly colonoscopy done. (TMI coming up... That's where you have a camera put up your bum and it goes all arond the intestines) I also have to have a endoscopy done tomorrow, That's the camera down your throat, looking at the top end of intestines. Oh what fun my life is at the minute!! I know it could be a lot lot worse, but it's bad enough.
Jayden weighs 10lb 12.5oz. And is feeding every 3 to 4 hours during the day, and he tends to go 5 to 6 hours in the night. He's still only on 100ml/3oz. But he's putting weight on, so it must be ok, and the health visitors haven't comented on it. We have changed bottles from avent to Dr Browns, to see if they helped with his screaming, they have a little but not a great difference.
Any way, hope you are feeling better now Rachel. And you to Vicki. Lucky for my hubby, he missed most of the tears as I was still in hospital when I had my baby blues. I managed to save the tears till he had left. Then the nurses had it all!!!!! Any way must go now, next lot of bowel prep needs to be taken!!!!! I'll be glad when tomorrow has been and gone
Jo & Jayden

Hi all, Rachel, sorry you had a bad day yesterday glad its better today must have been something in the water as all I seemed to do is row with Dh yesterday and blaming him for everything when he hadn't really done anything wrong poor bloke!! Vicki, hope you are feeling better to those first couple of weeks your hormones are all over the place. Char, wow to Nev's weight gain thats one thing we aren't matched on Eloise is prob now about 11lb but I think that bottle fed babies put on weight more quickly, Eloise feeds anything between 2-4 hourly during the day and for a few nights last week she slept for 6-7 hours between one of her night feeds but now is back to 4-5 hours then anything between 1-3hours after that . Frenchie, I have been just letting Eloise get into her own routine but we do try to give her a bath most evenings and then a feed in the slim hope that she will learn that it is time for bed!. I have been feeling really tired and irritable for the last couple of days and as I said above getting fed up with Dh I think it is because with the other two he could help with night feeds but because I am Bf he just sleeps through and snores to boot!! would just love some decent sleep. Am still waiting to hear from the physio about Eloise's foot no one seems to want to take responsibility and we are getting mucked about they say that unless it is a fixed talipe then they just leave it but how do they know it will just sort itself out if no one has seen it?? the health visitor is trying to find out what is going on but so far not getting anywhere, I hope that someone has seen her before she trys to walk! On a positive note Eloise is smiling loads and even if she has been awake quite a few times it melts your heart when she smiles at you. Hope everyone else ok Take care Sab x

Hubby phoned docs this morning, he phoned us back, but didn't want to see Jayden!! Said that it wouldn't be Lactose intolerance!! But hubby did manage to get him to prescribe colief.
I had my colonoscopy and endoscopy done this morning. They found that my stomache is full of polyps, they took some for biopsy. They also found one in the upper rectum, which they took for biopsy. They could be anything, from nothing up to cancer. I now have a four week wait for results. I'm so scared. The gene that i have, resulted in both my Mum dying (when I was 2 years old)and also my Sister (she was 7 years older than me, and was only 19 years old). The stomache cancer that my Mum had, there is no cure for. God I'm bricking it, but I have to stay strong for Jayden.

Jo, I am so sorry hun, I had no idea that your tests were for something so scary and serious. ((((()))) I am so sorry to hear about your mum and sister, 19 is so young, and to lose your mum at such a young age too must have been awful. I am sure though everything will be fine for you, and they are obviously keeping an eye on you, so if there are ever any changes, then they will get them quickly. You have to keep positive, and I know it's so much easier said than done, but you must try not to think about it for the next few weeks, I know how hard that will be, but you will drive yourself crazy if you don't, just concentrate on your lovely little man. ((((hugs))) Take care of yourself xxx Char, Wow what fantastic weight gain!! Ney, not you!!!! Frenchie, Katie has kind of found her own pattern too. She feeds loads in the evenings, and usually settles at about 11.30. She then sleeps till about 3.30, then goes down again about an hour later, until about 7.30. So she's not too bad, although last night was a complete disaster, and I got about 3 hours sleep! But I'm not expecting too much at the minute, and she is totally worth the lack of sleep!!! (mind you I wouldn't say that at 2 this morning!!) Beanz, I can't wait till Katie starts to smile, it makes it all so worth while. Oh and to hold her head up!! I hate it when they are so wobbly to start with. It makes me really nervous. Vicki, I hope your feeling better today, and your 5 minutes of freedom helped! I had a down day on Christmas day, but it will soon pass. Just remember to tell dh how you're feeling, don't bottle things up. (((()))) xx Rach, hope you're ok now too. Glad yesterday was a bit better. Amazing how a bit of fresh air can make you feel better. Emma, Hope you're ok too hun. xx Right, gotta go make the most of Katie being asleep...briefly. Got dh's parents round for tea tomorrow, it's his dad's birthday. Something to look forward too!!!!! Is anyone else getting their little one's christened? We have decided to have a real celebration, as it's taken us sooooo long to have her, we really want to make a fuss!! So far the guest list is at 62 people....not sure it's finished yet either!!!! Hi to everyone I've missed, sorry if I have. Blame the tiredness!!! xx Nicki xx

Ps, Jo forgot to say.....Could you try some lactose free milk? I'm sure SMA do one. How the hell would your dr know without either testing Jayden, or advising you change the milk, and monitor it. I think if you find the different milk works, you can get it on perscription. May need to try a different dr though!!! Keep smiling hun xxx

Hiya Everyone Jo, oh my goodness, I've got everything crossed that your test results come back ok, we're all here if you need us xxxx Re - Jayden, could you try soya milk? A friend of mine, her little boy had reflux and projectile vomited after every feed, he went onto soya milk that was prescribed by gp and was tonnes better? I'll find out the name of it for you. Vicki, the blues will pass, but you'll still want to cry when you look at Ethan, I do when Jake smailes or chuckles Rachel, (((HUGS)))for your bad day, at least the next day was better Char, good on Ney's weight, at least its not just my Jake that is a chunk! I got him weighed on Tuesday, he was 8 wks 6 days and weighed in at 13lb 8oz He has his bottle every four hours and takes 5 or 6 oz hungry baby. Frenchie, well done on your day of firsts! That first shopping trip is traumatic isn't it? Getting everything in the car and then out of the car again! With regards to a routine, Jake has his feeds, plays for half an hour or so then sleeps for about an hour and half to two hours usually when i go out for a walk, then at evening he has his bottle at about 5 - 6, naps for an hour or so, has a bath gets into his sleeping bag and has a bottle in his room at about 9 - 10, he goes to sleep and lasts (usually) til about 5am. He has kind of got into this himself really, some days are better than others, sometimes he refuses to nap and just screams for hours because he is tired! Sab, even though your b/f could dh not do the nappy change? Jake went to water babies on tuesday, he wasn't that impressed and cried quite alot! Think he was tired though cos the clas was at 10;30 and jake had been up since 8am and hadn't had a nap at all! See what happens next week. Hope everyone else is ok Bye for now (war and peace post over!) Hells & Jake xx
