Well we tried it last night, but after the first attemp, me & hubby discussed it, and both decided to stop.
I left him to cry (this was at 8.30pm), I went downstairs, turned the monitor all the way down and ignored him for 10 mins. I went up and found him in a heap at the bottom of the cot width ways, with one boot all the way between the cot bar, and his head wedged up against the cot side! He was dripping wet with sweat and bright red. He's poo'd so I got him out to change his bum, but he was crying so much that he was really sick, not what we need when he's putting so little weight on anyway.

We both said that altough it may work for other babies, we really didn't think it is right for Jayden with his boots and bar. I just don't feel happy at leaving him to get himself in that state, plus I don't want to run the risk of him hurting/damaging his feet/legs in the process! If he did damage leg/feet that would mean that he couldn't wear his boots ect until the damage was repaired!

Since last post, we've been doing the pick up/put down that Tracy Hogg, the baby whisperer did.
So far it's going ok, it's hard work, especialy on me, but we are getting there. This morning Jayden went to sleep in his cot the minute I put him in, not having to pick up once!!!

Hope everyone is ok, busy with kids off on school holidays.

Hells,
The days are better, but the nights are still terrible, he's not crying now, just wide awake. He settles really well to start with then, and not always the same times, wakes up to 3 times on a bad night, but is wide awake anything from 30mins up to hour and half each time. He doesn't cry, so can't do the pick up put down. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to sit with him, I have to stay, as second i turn my back to leave he cries, stopping as soon as i turn back again!!

Naps during the day, he now sleeps in his cot, and has 2 sleeps one in morn and one in arvo, and each time sleeps anything between 30 mins and hour and half, do you think he's got day and night mixed up? In the baby whisperer book, his naps time of day and length are about right for his age, so he's not having too many or too much.

I just need help now, I'm getting so tired and frustrated with him during the night, I'm beggining to hate myself and feel like a failure.
I'm always tired, the house is a mess as when Jayden is sleeping in day, I sleep too, so nothing else is getting done!! Hubby is starting to get pissed off with me, my moods and the house!!!

No one around here seems to care about me, I've got no one. MIL, is in hosp after having masectomy on mon, doing well,Friends are all too busy and don't have a clue what i can do about the problem. My family are all in Norfolk (what's left of them), on;y got my Dad, who never even put a coat on me when I was a baby, and my Nan, who is too old to remember what a baby is like!!!! Could really do with my Mum, but I don't think anyone has invented a phone that works up in heaven!!!

Sorry about the moan, and down post, will feel better soon, i hope.
Best go now Jayden is getting grumpy, wants to play climb all over Mummy!!

Hi all,

Sorry I have been AWOL its just we have been away on holiday and it's always a bit mad during the summer holidays. We took the kids to Butlins for a week which they loved, Eloise liked just taking it all in.

Things are a bit up and down my end, my husband still doesn't know what is happening to his job and is at a meeting today to discuss it so we should know more later is all very worrying because we would really struggle without his wage coming in.

I am due back to work in a couple of weeks I can't believe that I will have been off for 11 months it has soon come round, I have applied to reduce my hours and have to go for a meeting this morning to discuss it I don't think anything will be decided today but at least things are moving in the right direction.

As for Eloise she is good she is into everything, moving round the furniture and pulling everything off the table! she has six teeth and is a real little character. I really don't want to leave her when I go back to work Frowner

It is so quiet on hear I hope everyone is ok

Jo, sorry you finding things a struggle it is so hard when you don't get any sleep I found it really tough with Eloise not sleeping through until she was six months.

Char, how you doing? how are you finding the summer holidays??!!

Hi to everyone else

Take care

Hi All,
It feels like an age since Ive ben on here.
i just thought Id pop on and say a quick hello to everyone and leave a quick update.

Ethan now has two teeth, weighs just over 21lbs and is 75.5cm long. Ive just had to buy all new clothes again as his trousers look like they have fell out with his shoes again. Hes managing to move around the room now doing a very funny comando crawl which he's very good at and can cover loads of space in a matter of seconds. All women should be born with eyes in the back of their heads, it would be so much easier.
Ive just brought him a baby walker from Asda so I can take him in the kitchen with me when im cooking or washing up. Hopefully now he can get a bit more excersise in it he wont gain weight as fast.
Im back to work tomorrow, booooo!!! Ive handed in my notice at the Travel Agency I worked at and have got a new job with Marks and Spencers. The Teaching Assistant is going to have to wait for a while due to funds. Its something I will look into again when Ethan is comming up to nursery or school age. I cant believe he's almost 8 months old and that its time to go back to work. If I think about leaving him too much I get all upset. I know he will be ok tho as my mum and MIL are sharing the childcare for us, we are so lucky.
Right Id better be off and get some jobs done otherwise I'll be a stress head later when I dont have time to get them done.

Take care.xx

Hi All,

Well its really really quiet on here. Everyone still around then?

Jo hope things are a little better with Jayden. Its so difficult as whats good for one baby may not be for the next. Don't ever feel like a failure though hun. Being a parent is the hardest job in the world. Cant get any book that tells you how to do it, it just comes with time and experience.

Three kids down the line and im sill learning hun. You'll be fine, just try not to stress about it. As for hubby, maybe he's just frustrated that he cant help you?

Either way (i know easier said than done) try not to worry. A few months from now, you'll wonder what you were ever worried about.

Sab, thanks for asking after me. We are all fine thanks. We have just moved house (hence the lack of pc time) Not very far, but to a bigger house. We are in the process of having a partition put in to seperate the girls rooms (looks great already and its only a shell).

Right now, Ney!!!! Little miss madam. Oh i know shes my third but she is tooooooo funny. Shes crawling now and getting around really fast. In to absolutely everything and has a great memory and seems to be learning more everyday.

NO TEETH yet (is she the only one?) Lol....dosnt stop her from experimenting with her foods. Shes actually a really good baby, sleeps through the night, eats and feeds really well and in general is really good (& im not bragging ladies). I have been where some of you are at the moment (with my older two).

Anyway, best be off.

Take care all till the next time.

Char,
Thanks for that. I'm feeling bit better now.
Jayden now has a stinking cold, so over the weekend has been really unsettled day and night, but at least hubby been here to help out. Now we're both tired!!!

Jayden still has no teeth, so you're not the only one, I was beggining to think the same. Jayden's the oldest out of all babies and seemed to be the last to do everything!!!!!

Sunday and Monday night, Jayden slept all night on his front, although he cried a few times in the night for his dummy, he never actually opened his eyes. Each time I popped dummy back in and he stopped crying and settled down again, so hoping that now he can sleep on front he will sleep better once his cold has gone. Other thing is, Sunday night we jacked top end of cot up to help with his cold, so it might be that he's happy to sleep on his front when cot is like that!!! Suppose we'll find out when we put cot back to normal!!

We now crawl, well commando style!! lies flat on floor, bends one leg, pushes with that and pulls with arms!! Also started over weekend to pull himself up, but only using me or Daddy, not furniture.

Jayden has also started to manage food with lumps in now, His fav is Potato, beans and bacon. He can't get enough of it!!

MIL was in hospital for 1 week (came home last Monday). She's doing really well. We went and spent day with her on Thursday and you wouldn't think she'd had op a week earlier!!

Hope everyone is well.
Bye for now
Jo & Jayden

Hi guys,

Sorry this is going to be a me post,

well here goes I think by typing this it is going to seem more real but I have just found out that I am expecting again! Eeker, not ideal seeing as hubby has just lost his job and we were told we couldnt have anymore children and all of the heartache we went through to get Eloise, I can't believe it what on earth am I going to do?? I don't want to go through all the stress and heartache we went through when carrying Eloise again Frowner its all too much to take in at the moment poor Eloise she is never going to know her dad due to us using a donor and now this! what a mess.

Anyway am gonna go now that I have dropped that bombshell am in total shock Confused

Take care

Sh!t Sab,
Huge Congratulations, and huge hugs hun(((()))). You must be in such a weird place at the minute.
It's wonderful you're expecting again, but Eloise is still only a baby, and obviously with the other factors too, you must be all over the place.
How far gone are you?
I guess you need to take one day at a time. Easier said than done I know.

It really is wonderful, and this baby is a miricle, which was obviously ment to be, just like Katie was for us. Babies just come when they are ready, not when we want them too.
As for Eloise and her biological daddy, dh will alway be her daddy, it doesn't matter who donated!! I know you know that, please don't think I'm being patronising.

I hope your feeling ok hun, I know our thread is really quiet, but I do check in now and again. I'm sure once the kids go back to school we will have more time on our hands to post.
Just don't bottle things up, and I'm sure dh will find another job soon.

Much love hun take care xxx Nicki

Hi

Nicki thanks for the reply, yeah my head is a bit shot to be honest am pleased about it in a way and now that is has happened I hope things go ok I keep rushing to the loo to make sure I haven't come on! but on a serious note am terrified of what happened with Eloise happening again it was all so stressful.

I am only very early on five weeks tomorrow but my cycle is normally quite regular and I just had a feeling. I feel soooo tired today maybe just all the stress of yesterday catching up could sleep for a week!

Take care all

Hiya Sab,
I'm so pleased you're pleased!! (If you know what I mean) You sound more positive today than in your other post.

I was so terrified with Katie something was going to go wrong, but I read somewhere, (it could have been here!!) to just enjoy every moment of being pregnant, because you can't change whats going to happen, and if you spend the whole time worrying and stressing then you will only regret it!
That said, I spent probably 7 months out of 9 worrying, and I know you did too, but we both have our little girls, and they are lovely, and now I wish I had enjoyed it more.
Evrything will be fine, with the pregnancy, baby and dh and job!!!

Lots of love, positive vibes and happy thoughts!!!

xx Nicki xx Big Grin

Hi Nicki,

Yeah I know what you mean about trying to enjoy it but it is soo hard still hasn't sunk in yet, and I have had some very very light spotting so it just reminds me of what we went through when carrying Eloise and it brings back all those feelings, I must just be one of these women that bleed during pregnancy Confused, but yes am coming round to the idea and certainly wouldn't want anything to happen so I guess that must say something. I don't think I relaxed even a little bit until I was around 28 weeks with Eloise once I knew that she would stand a chance, gosh that is such a long time away.

I am back to work next week after my maternity leave finishes so they are going to love me when I tell them my news!!!

Well enough from me think I'm off to bed soon am shattered!

Take care

Hey Everyone,

Wow, Sab congrats hun, you must be in a whirlwind! This little one was obviously meant to be Big Grin

Jo, aww hun, hope you're feeling better, It is really difficult to know what to do isn't it?, Jake went through a phase a few months ago of waking up at 4am for an hour or so. It probably lasted a couple of weeks or so, but I must admit we left him and did controlled crying if he started because I knew he wasn't hungry and didn't need a nappy change, he was just being a monkey! Eeker It could b that he is more settled now he can sleep on his front, I know Jake sleeps on his front most nights now (although he has just started sleeping on his side???) Hopefully things will fall into place!

Well, Jake is doing well, he has been poorly over the weekend, typical man, his top two teeth are sprouting and he felt v sorry for himself. He spent most of friday on my knee which isn;t like him. He never ate for three days (or pooed for that matter!) He's better now though Big Grin. He just started getting up onto his feet on his own, smiles like he's dead proud of himself then falls over Eeker. it is amusing!

Hope everyone else is well, we've gone very quiet on here lately. Roll Eyes, school holidays!

Bye for now

Hells & Jake xx
