New PM!

Jessieandabbie - I will PM you. Hi Girls Hope you are all ok, we are fine, Millie is loving her food I have had to up the amount I am giving her but it is still only twice a day. We have spent most of the day in and out of the Garden. My first raised bed is in and I have put the Rhubarb in it and planted some strawberries. The Raspberries are shooting through aswell, so I am hoping to be able to make some lovely stuff with the fresh fruit in the summer, that is if DH or Chloe havent eaten it all!! DH and I had a massive row in the week. I was moaning at him as no matter how many times I ask he keeps smoking in our car and I dont want him to. Anyone as I was expressing my feelings he sss'd me and told me to keep quiet as he thought Chloe was awake. Well that was it I went into a full rage. (Chloe was asleep and we were in the Kitchen and shw would not of been able to hear us plus I wasnt that loud!!) Things have calmed down since, but Im still not happy. Did someone mention that I contact my HV? I have not seen my HV since Millie was 6 weeks and she said I was borderline for PND. It was exactly the same as with Chloe as soon as they have signed off on the 6 week check that is it. I am going to see how I go and if I still feel the same in a few weeks then I will go and see the Doctor. I hope you are all having a great weekend. Take Care Emma

Hi All Sab, i'll go with the majority, stay or go. I hate change (lol). So if someone sets us up on the new site and everyone goes then i will follow Emma, bless ya luv. When i saw HV after i had Ney she said i had scored quite high(on that test thing they make us do). Anyway, apart from lack of sleep (which was effecting everything else in my life) i was absolutely fine. I was struggling, but just because i was tryna be superwoman, run a home with three kids and a partner that worked full time. Well anyway, guess what im saying is, if its just your DP thats annoying you then are you sure your not maybe just a little depressed? Do you maybe need some time out to yourself? Im not an expert, but i do feel that sometimes these HV'S give us more to think about when we are doing just fine! Well thats my input Lol. Hows everyone else doing? Are we moving to the new site or staying? Char & Ney xxx

Hey Ladies, How are you all? Sab, I can't believe its raining in Cyprus , Zante is 3 weeks on Thursday, i hope its not raining. Well the controlled crying has been going really well, in fact for the past couple of nights Jake has gone straight to sleep and not really woke up until the morning , however, tonight is a different story. He went to sleep np problem but woke up screaming half an hour later a real screeching scream, thought he might have had wind or a bad dream or something, that was half an hour ago and he is still screaming Its like sometimes once he starts he cannot stop Other than that Jake is doing really well, loving his food and is back on his milk aswell. The New Site....I can barely get the time to come on here let alone facebook and now anew site , however, i'll go with the majority! Hope everyone is well Bye for now Hells xx

Hi everyone, It's so quiet on here, where is everyone? I'm doing well, had stitches out Monday and I'm healing really well. Hubby back to work now, and I'm missing him, the house is so quiet (when Jayden is asleep and now shouting!).
Regarding the new forum, I'll go with everyone else, I'm happy to stay here and happy to go also. I've not had time to go over and look yet!!!
Jayden is doing well, weighing in this week at 15lb 4oz. Still loving food. We do have one concern with him. Health visitor thinks that he's milk intolerant. We agree. Whenever he has Petits Filous or wheet a bix, Or banana porridge (I think it's made by Bavita or something like, it has milk already in for conveinence). He screams uncontrolably after 1 hour. He did this yesterday for 45 mins, I couldn't do a thing with him, poor little man. He cried himself to sleep in my arms, slept for 20 mins then woke screaming again. This went on for another 30 mins!! And again cried himself to sleep. This was repeated all day and most of the night. This morning he's fine, I've given him food that he's had before and that I know he's fine with. I'm going to do that for a week, then try something with milk in it. If the same things happen I have to take him to docs. But they will probably tell me to carry on as I have been, trying him with milk every now and then. If the same thing is still happening when he is nearer a year, then he will have to go into hospital for tests.
One question for you. Scrambled egg.... I have a recipe for cheese and onion scrambled eggs, not to be given before 6 months. My H/V said not to give any baby no matter how old scrambled egg, not unless I can be 110% that the eggs are free range. Are you of you going to give scrambled eggs? I thought that as long as the egg is completly cooked the samonella has gone?!! Am I wrong? Also I thought that all eggs, free range or not, contained samonella?
Thanks Jo & Jayden

Hi All, Hells, good on you persevering with the controlled crying. If it helps at all, i think Ney's the same as Jake (if she starts and is left to cry for any length of time) she just does not know how to stop (even when picked up and comforted). Jo, glad to hear that your recovering from your op sorry to hear your missing hubby . Poor Jayden if he is milk intolerant, god thats gonna make what foods you give him difficult isnt it? & thats interesting that is (eggs). I thought all eggs had Samonella as well, but i had heard not to give babies eggs though (not looked into it myself yet as Ney has only really just started on solids) so hadnt considered eggs yet. Let us know what you find out x Well Ney weighed in at 16lb 15 oz's yesterday (22 weeks exactly). Still didnt tell MW that she's on solids, but was a bit baffled at the small gain as thats only 10oz's in three weeks Not sure how thats so, since she's still on same amount of milk (what she should be on for her weight and age), but also getting solids? (solids that she shouldnt be on mind you, since she isnt 6 months yet). Well anyway, MW isnt worried about the small gain (suppose at least it aint a loss). Hope everyone's ok. How are all these babies getting along? (i for one, cant believe Ney is 5 months already). We are gonna be talking about there 1st Birthdays before you know it. Emma, how you doing? feeling any better about DP yet? x Char & Ney xxxx p.s forgot to say (not sure if i have before), but Ney sleeps through the night now every night from around 10.30 till 6.30 (Hoooooooooray) x

Hi all, Well still in Cyprus can't believe we have been here for over two weeks now only six more days left thankfully the weather has been better and have managed to soak up some rays! Jo, glad you are feeling ok, sorry to hear about Jake and the milk intolerance what a nightmare, I have just found out that I am allergic to goats and sheeps milk as I had a Haloumi cheese pitta bread out here and my mouth started tingling and then had bad stomach cramps and an awful belly the following day, so I can sympathise with you LO, it makes it a bit difficult for me as i'm a vegetarian thats allergic to cheese!!! Hells, glad the controlled crying is working ok, I am going to start trying that when I get home as can't cope with many more sleepless nights now! Char, I'm sure my health visitor told me that there weight gain starts to slow down around now as they can't carry on with the huge amounts otherwise they would be massive by the time they were one! Eloise only puts on that kind of gain over three weeks as well. Well we tried Eloise on some baby rice for the first time last night and she took to it really well, I was going to wait until we were home fron holiday but have had a few bad nights with her, so just went for it, she still didn't sleep through and was awake for an hour in the night but I didn't feel I had to feed her and she went back to sleep until 5am so she did actually manage nine and a half hours between milk feeds, just got to get her to sleep that long and manage to settle herself back to sleep in the night. I think I will be moving her to her own room when we get back to see if that helps as well. Well am off out for the day to see a different part of the island so best stop rambling now Take care Sab x

Hi All, Just thought id pop on and see how everyone is doing. Jo - We had a talk on weaning at my mother and baby group today and there was nothing mentioned about not giving scrambled egg or saying that they needed to be free range, thats like saying you should only give your child organic stuff. We were told by our HV team that eggs can be introduced at 6 months but the white and yolk must be solid. I would probably go for a mashed up boiled egg until you know that Jayden is ok with them. Also when my nephew was a baby my sister thought he was milk intolerant as he was ill after some of his feeds but it turned out to be the gluten instead. Its just an idea and im probably wrong but double check the packaging on what he has problems with, it may not be the milk. Ethan has been weighed again today and hes a whopping 17lbs 3ozs. Hes just dropped below the 91st centile so im hoping that his weight gain will even out for a bit. Ive been advised to put him on all hungry baby feeds now to try and prevent weaning for a bit longer. Hes now finishing his 5 x 7oz bottles a day and looking for more. The HV said he might make it to 20 weeks if I do. We shall see. Sab, we moved Ethan into his own room at around 12 weeks and found he slept much better, within a couple of days he was sleeping through. I think its because its dark and quiet so theres nothing to disturb them when they are in their light sleep. Keep the monitor turned down tho, I do and it stops me jumping at every murmour, that way I only hear him when he really cries and really needs something. I went into him the other day and he had wriggled hiself upto the other end of the cot, turned himself sideways and had his legs sticking out of the bars. He thought it was very funny and was laughing at me when i got in there. Well im off, I'd better get the dinner on or my DH will think I love the PC more than him. Vicki & Ethan.xx

Hey Everyone Jo, I had the same with Jake when he eats petit filous (sp?) he screams in agony and its a shame cos he loves them! I had taken Jake to the docs about his vomiting and mentioned it, he said to leave them out of his diet until 6 months old and then try again, apparently his tummy may be better equipped to taken it then. Its puzzleing though cos he has jars of porridge that are made with whole milk so who knows? Char, Jake is doing really well at nightime for going to bed but I still struggle during the day, in fact ttruth be told I haven't put him in his cot for a nap during the days for well over a week, I have been going out for a walk , will try again at the w'end when dh is off work I had Jake weighed on Tuesday and he is 18lb 10 oz but has only gained 2oz in two weeks? HV said it will start to tail off now because he is moving about and kicking his legs etc. Sab, glad you're enjoying your hols and the time with your mum. Yeah, like Vicki I found Jake was much better in his own room although he has been in there since Christmas! Emma, hope you're ok hun xxx Vicki, Ethan sounds like he's doing well, you certainly have a hungry baby! Hope everyone else is well, I'm excited we go and see Jake's underwater pictures on saturday and decide if we want any...i'm really hoping that they are good, but if not he has another photo shoot at the end of this course in 8 weeks time so we can always try again! Bye for now Hells & Jake xx

Morning All I hope you are all doing, its Friday yay !! Well Im doing ok, have tried to have a positive week it has not all gone to plan but I am better than last week. I have been controlling my eating, and have been using my cross trainer I managed to do 25 minutes last night which is the longest I have done. The last month I have eaten so much chocolate and c**P that I managed to put a stone on !!, which I think has fuelled my feeling low as I do not like what the mirror is showing me. Anyway there is nothing I can do about it now, just need to lost it ASAP !! As for DH, well he still is annoying me at times, but we have had a little chat and I felt a bit better. Millie is doing really well, loves her breakfast and rusks. She liked Banana now she doesnt, so will try again in a month or so. She loves carrots but makes a right mess. She woke up last night at 2am wanting some milk it has thrown me right off track today as I wanted to have a good tidy up and I have only managed half of our bedroom at the minute and it is 11.30am !!! I had a feeling she would wake as she had her food much earlier in the day yesterday, we seem to have gone back to our normal time today, will just have to wait and see what this afternoo brings. Well we are not up to much this weekend, looks like it is going to raining for most of it. There is a big boxing fight on saturday night (well 3am Sunday Morning) in the usa that we will watch ( I will go to bed and get up at 2.50am, DH will catnap on the sofa as he likes the build up !!) Jo - Glad you are doing so well after your Operation. As for scrambled egg, pass. I always thought as long as the egg was cooked properly that it would be fine and no risk of samonella. I always buy free range so there is no issue there for me. It was on my list of things to introduce to Millie ovewr the next few weeks, I know Chloe loved it when she was a baby and she still does. I think as long as the eggs are fresh and cooked well then there should not be a problem, thats my view anyway. Char - Glad you are doing ok and Ney is sleeping through. Hells - Well done on the controlled crying, its something that I use and I have to say it worked really well with Chloe and seems to be doing well with Millie at the moment. Beanz - Glad you are having a great time in Cyprus and the weather has improved. We defiently noticed a difference in Millie once she was moved into her own room, I think it has a lot to do with quiet and non movement in there once she is asleep. She noe sleeps from around 7pm - 7am so something is working right. Vicki - Glad Ethan is doing well. What I would say is and I dont mean to offend you but if you think Ethan is ready for food then maybe its time to introduce a small amount? As you can tell most of us have started introducing food to our babies before 20 weeks, as we believe that they need it. It is completely your choice, but dont feel frightened about introducing food before the HV's magic 20 weeks. I apologise if you think I am talking out of line. Right bettewr go and get on with the housework. Oh and also Millie has started blowing Raspberries and thinks it really funny. The good thing is over the past few days if you do it to her she does it back and laughs, its our new game at the moment !! Take Care and have a good weekend. Emma

Hi everyone, Emma - I dont think your out of line at all, infact thats why I like this forum so much. With the HV you get bombarded with one sided information that they have learnt like a script. But on here its real mums who have or are going through the same things at the same time. I was going to try giving him a bit of baby rice this morning but he never woke up in the night last night so I figured he wasnt that hungry. I'll see how he goes, Im all ready for weaning though, I spent a fortune in Asda yesterday, just need a highchair as he will soon be too heavy for his bouncer. Im off do get some jobs done before he wakes up from his nap. Vic.xx

Hi girls, Just a quick question about weaning, Eloise is on her fourth day of having some baby rice the first couple of days she had it in the evening but was too tired really so have given it to her for breakfast instead, but apart from the first day she doesn't seem to like it much!, was just wondering if it takes a while for them to get the idea? or whether to leave it for now and try again in a while, has been too many years for me to remember what my other two where like!!! Take care Sab x

Hi All, Vicki, bless Ethan. He reminds me of my son, he was the same, except he was on hungry baby milk from around 5 weeks . I put Ney on that milk when she was around 3 months i think. It definately helped and delayed the weaning. I say follow your instincts. Ney was def ready for solids when i started her on it. & as for spending a fortune. I did, but (on her highchair) . Got the Fisher price healthy care highchair (cost £70) liked the idea though that it has so many heights and can be used as a chair at the dinning table eventually. Hells, how did the viewing of the underwater pics go? were they good? do you have a scanner? it would be good to have a peak at them x Emma, Glad your feeling better and have had a positive week. You need to share your secrets on the controlled eating. I need help in that department. Lol. & glad your little chat with DP has made you feel better. & bless Millie going off banana's (theyre Neys favourite at the moment). Sab, Ney didnn't like baby rice, so i delayed the weaning thinking it was bcos she wasnt ready. When in fact i think it was bcos she dosnt like baby rice as since starting solids she still wont touch the b. rice. So id say maybe try something else. If you think she's def ready for solids (watching you all eat, chewing her hands, sleeping for shorter periods) you know the signs. Then dont give up, just try something new. Also find a time during the day that your both happy to give the solids, if she's tired, your stressed etc then she may not feed properley. Hope that helps x (good luck) No change here. Neys turned in to my perfect child (god i hope im not tempting fate). Seriously though, we have a really good routine. Apart from ending up in my bed around 4 every morning i have no other complaints. & i know i could stop the little visits to mummy & daddy's bed if i was a little stronger, but at 4 in the morning its just easier to put her in with us. Plus i love our little cuddles in the morning (when she's at her happiest). Well thats my novel for today. Take care all Char & Ney xxx

Evening I hope you are all ok. We are fine, pretty boring weekend but we did have sunday roast at mums which was nice. Sab - Keep perserving it does take some time and practice. Also and this is from a personal point of view, have you tasted the baby rice? Its not that nice, so maybe try Eloise on something else. Millie is on an Organic breakfast with fig & apple and she loves it, she kicks her feet and gets all excited when she see's it. I also give her the original rusks which she also likes, the only problem being that so does Chloe so when I make some up for Millie Chloe normally ends up having a biscuit !! Char - No secret on the controlled eating, I just keep telling myself that I need to shift this weight. Something has worked as I lost 4lb last week with just trying to stick to 3 meals a day and having carrots or fruit as a snack. A few days I did have a couple of choccie biscuits but managed to only have 2, keep telling myself that I did not need half a packet and that 2 should be enough. I havent changed what I am eating at meal times yet, still have some sugar on my porridge, still have cheese on toast etc etc. Just trying to take on step at a time and not "diet" but change the way I eat slowly. Anyway Im off for a bath jusrt done 25 mins on the cross trainer and feeling knackered !! Take Care Emma

Hi all, Well Ethan and I have just got back from the clinic and hes had his 3rd lot of jabs. He didnt cry as much as I expected so I was alot calmer than last time. He got weighed again and has only put on an ounce so he 17lb4ozs now. Not that I mind tho, hopefully he will slow down a bit and get some more use out of his clothes. Have been sorting out all of his things which dont fit him anymore and theres loads!!! I thought about selling some of it but im hoping to have another baby in a couple of years so dont want to get rid of too much. If I sell it all you just know I'll have a boy and have to start all over again. He's sleeping off his jabs at the mo so I really should be catching up with the ironing instead of chatting on here. Right thats it, im off before I change my mind. Take care all.xx
