Evening All

Well its Chloes 4th B/day today and we have had a very busy day. Chloe has only just gone to bed which is waaaaay past her bedtime.

Got the results of my smear, then came back all clear. I will have to have it repeated in a year just to be safe.

Anyway Im off for a hot soak and then bed.

I hope you are all ok.

Hi all,

Emma, glad your smear came back ok, am waiting for the results of my last one must be due anyday now.

Not much new from me just same old same old!!, had Eloise weighed yesterday and she is 14lb 2 1/2 oz so over the stone mark now but still quite small compared to some of yours! health visitor said she is doing ok though so am happy with that.

Have many of you started weaning yet?, I keep thinking about it but then putting it off as Eloise seems settled after a feed and does have one block of sleep at night of six and a half hours, don't really want to start her before I go on holiday next week so might wait until i'm over there.

Only five more sleeps until I go to Cyprus to see my mum again can't wait! Smiler

Hope everyone is ok

Take care

Hey Everyone,

Emma, yay to the clear smear...and also happy belated birthday to Chloe Big Grin

Sab, well done to eloise for rolling, jake hasn't mastered it yet, dont think he can bothered actually! He doesn't really like being lay down and would rather be in his bouncer or his jumperoo, everytime i lay him on the floor he kicks of! Re - weaning..jake is really starting to like his food, wont really entertain any breakfast cereal but loves fromage frais and has carrot / potato / sweetcorn for his tea with a pot of fruit puree. Bet your really excited for your hols, how does eloise do on the plane? I'm starting to panic about jake now and wonder what i can give him to make him sleep Wink

Jo, yay, not long to wait for your op, hopefully it will be sooner rather than later Eeker

Vicki, i wouldn't worry about ethans weight, he may just have had a growth spurt and it will slow down, jake hit a peak about a month ago when he put on a couple of pounds in a few weeks, he has now slowed down even though he is eating the same amount of milk plus food. He has 4 or 5 7oz bottles per day and has been on the amount for a good 2 months. The only problem is he is going through clothes like no ones business! He is now in 6-9 months!

Hope everyone else is ok, speak soon

Hells & jake xx

Hi all,

Hells, Eloise was fine on the plane last time and slept the whole way there and back only waking briefly for something to eat!, not sure it will be the same this time as she is a bit bigger but am hoping so.

Both of the kids schools have said no to them having the time off Mad so don't know whether to try to get some earlier flights back so that they don't miss as many days? Confused ho hum!!

Take care

Weaning... I know Jayden is bit older than eloise. Jayden has hardly any milk now. He has about 1 to 2oz for breakfast, about 2 to 3oz for dinner and hardly any milk at tea. He has 4oz about 8.30 to 10pm and one more 4oz bottle somewhere between 2 and 6 am. He has lots of food, 3 main meals along with 2 puddings. He's putting on roughly 5oz a week now. He weighs in at 14lb 8oz now. Health visitor came yest and said he was really pleased with him. So am I!!!! He never seemed hungry still after milk. I waited till he was nearly 20 weeks and just started him off on food. He mastered the art straight away.

Speak soon
Jo & Jayden

Hope you have a great time with your Mum. Good luck with the weaning.

Hi All,
Well Ethan had his 12wk jabs today and he seems to be ok. not much moaning and hes not too groggy either. He weighs 15lb 12oz but has stopped jumping centile lines now and seems sat happily on the 91st centile one. He's grown 3cm in 4 weeks, hes now 62.5cm long. I aked the health visitor if it was ok that he was so heavy and she said hes fine, just thriving. I was so much more relaxed after that. I have also discovered my new aim in life. I am currently a travel agent and after speaking to my sister im enrolling into an open uni course to study for a teaching degree!!!!! My dh aunty is a head teacher in a town quite close and she is letting me do some voulntry teaching assistant work while im on mat leave then alongside that there is an 18 week course I can do that will mean in Sept when im due back at work I will be a qualified teaching assistant and she will give me a job. There is a nursry on site that I can get Ethan into aswell. Once ive done all the teaching assistant grades I can do the years study and get the degree in teaching. At last I have found what I really want to do. Big Grin

Hope your all ok, have a good holiday sab.

YAH!!!!!!!!!!
From today, Jayden only has to wear his boots and bar for 12 -14 hours a day (night time). That's until his 4th birthday!

They are dead impressed with his feet and progress at hospital, so am I!!! Now we only have to go back every 3 months, much better than every other week.

Now I can see and touch his little feet everyday, for as long as I want!! All they said is that once he is wearing shoes they must be well fitted shoes and no hand me downs! That I can cope with!

Must go, I'm missing out on valubale feet time!!!! I've a lot to catch up on!!!!! Jayden will wish he still has his boots on!!!

back soon
Jayden and a very pleased Mummy!

Hey girls,

Sorry to be awol so long. Even though I'm awake now more than ever there don't seem to be enough hours in the day!! lol.

Anyway, all going ok here, had a nightmare few weeks, Katie got a cold and we went from only needing a feed at 1 and 5, to waking every 2 hours in the night, so as you can imagine, I was knackered!!! But we seem to have turned a corner, and the last 2 nights she has only woken once for a feed, and last nigt she only woke at 4!! So I feel much more human again.

Otherwise, everything is great, Katie is just sooo cute and getting funnier everyday. She is a real chatter box too, god help us when she's older, we won't get a word in!!
We have her Christening in May which I am soo looking forward too, we're having a real celebration as it took so long to have her. We thought we would really go to town.

Emma, hope Chloe's birthday went well, and glad your smear came back ok too. I had an abnormal one just before I fell pg with Ben, it was such a scary time as they couldn't do anything cos I was pg. Thankfully it all came back ok, when they did further tests, but I still have to have one more often at the mo. Roll Eyes Frowner Joy!!!

Jo, fantastic news about your op date, good luck for tomorrow. At least you don't have to long to worry about it. Fab news about Jayden and his boots too, enjoy those toes!!! x Big Grin

Sab, I know you won't see this till you're home, but I hope you have a lovely time with your mum, can you bring some sun back please!! Cool Snow this weekend apparently....Wonderful!!!!! Roll Eyes

Vicki, I can't believe how much Ethan weighs, Katie is only 13lb 5oz. She's so diddy, no idea where she gets it from!!! But she's on the 50th percentile, and H/V seems happy so I'm not worried. Mind you, she is in 3-6m trousers, but only 0-3m tops!! She can't wear any of her pretty little sets!! Roll Eyes
Excellent news about your career change. The teaching hours will be fantastic to fit in with Ethan when he's older. Good luck with the course.

Hells, Hope you and Jake are ok, I can't believe he's nearly 5 months...where has the time gone?? So scary. Eeker Hows the moving going? xx

So, has anyone heard from Cludgie, Rach, Char, or Frenchie?

Right, I better get dressed while Katie is still asleep. Oh forgot to say, took her swimming with Ben yesterday, didn't have enough hands, but she loved it. Reall little water baby.....hmmmmm maybe that was why she slept so well last night!!!

Lots of love to you all, and babies.

Hi All,

Sorry been away. Have kept a close eye on you all though. Just not had time to post really.
Thanks for asking after me Nikki x

Well things from my side are good. Ney sleeps from between 10.30/11.30pm till 7.00/8.00AM. Im still putting half a rusk in her bottle in her last feed (dropped to half a rusk after we all had the horrible bug going around). Anyway, she dosnt sleep much during the day (cat naps lasting no more than an hour).

Ney really does make us laugh, i swear she's been here before bless her.

A friend of mine's baby boy who's 4 weeks older than Ney, has started crawling!! can you believe it (he's only 5 and a half months). He really does crawl!!

Glad to see everyone seems to be getting on ok.
Jo, i bet Jayden cant keep his little feet still now bless him (& i bet you havnt left them alone yet) lol.
Viki good on you with the change of proffession. Hope it all goes well for you.
Hells, how much does Jake weigh now? Ney's on the same amount of bottles as Jake, but ive only just started her on solids.
Ney weighs 16lb 5oz (well she did last week) so she's gaining weight nicely.

As for me, after thinkikng long and hard ive decided to return to study in September. Went on to college after school, and then took a year out. Only in my year out i got pregnant then had my eldest (Kyra). Well after 11 years i have decided to go on to Uni and get my degree.

Cant actually believe im doing it to be honest. I know it'll be hard but im determined and sick of the kind of jobs that i can get without the extra part to my qualification.

So im trying to enjoy the little bit of freedom that ive got at the moment.

Hope everyone is ok, & i'll try not to leave it so long

Take care all

Just a quick question... When you say you put half a rusk in her bottle, do you actually put it inside the bottle with the milk? Silly I know, but doesnt it bung up the hole in the teat? I have no idea when it comes to rusks, I picked up a box in Asda the other day and put them back cos I just didnt get it.

Im registered on a baby beginnings work shop at my health centre, they cover first aid, baby massage, weaning, bounce and rhyme and play and development. Its a 5 week course so should be interesting.

Hope everyones ok, sorry for the lack of personals.

Take care.

Vicki.xx

Hey Everyone

Hope you're all well, so many of you changing careers and going back to studying, you go for it I say!

Jo, you are probably in hopsital right now, but i hope your op goes well and your back with us soon. Yay to Jayden being out of his boots during the day, i forsee many toe kisses comeing his way!

Sab, enjoy your hols, you're probably already there by now!

Char, Jake weighs in at 18lb 8oz as of tuesday just gone, he has dropped down to three 7oz bottles a day - morning, noonish and then before bed at about 6;30 but i have introduced a 11pm one to see him though. He usually has a brekkie, then a banana or fruit pot at lunch then 1/2 jar meal and 1/2 jar pud at tea time. He is doing so much better with his food since i got him his high chair and he finds it really amusing if i eat my cereal with him in the morning Big Grin, bless... He is no near crawling though, if i put him on his tummy he tries to pull himslef up onto his knees but think he is just to heavy! He can sit up for a couple of seconds but isn't stable or anything yet.

Vicki, Ethan sounds like he is doing really well!

Nicki, Katie sounds like a little dot! We wont be getting Jake christened, dh doesn't want to, am a bit miffed about it really but then i think if the organising!

Jake has manflu again at the mo though and is very snuffly but have got him some calcold medicine, it knocks him out! as he has his underwater photo shoot on sunday i need him to be better!

Hope everyone else is ok,

Bye for now

Hells x

Hi All

Vicki, I pour 6 oz's hot water in to a bottle,
crumble (between my fingers so its crumbs) the half a rusk in to the bottle, beat it about with a folk for a bit (to melt the rusk) Then add the right amount of scoops of formula (in our case 6 scoops).

This is not actually the way your suppose to do rusks, and the health visitors advise against it (like they do, weaning before 6 months). It just makes the milk a little thicker, and so heavier, hence filling the baby up (and since its heavier than milk) it makes them sleep for longer. Ive done it with my older two and it never did them any harm, so ive done it with Ney too!

Hells, how cute, under water baby snaps. Have you organised that through your swimming sessions with Jake that you were having? (you'll have to see if you can put them on the website thingy) for us to have a look at.
Wow to Jake's weight. Even though, im a bit worried abut Ney!! (lol). She was 20 weeks (Tuesday just gone). She weighs 16lb 5oz's (well two weeks ago).

Thats before i had even started her solids (& thats only been the last couple days) she only has 4 bottles a day!

How's everyone else's weights going (babies that is) Big Grin & who else has started weaning yet? if so how's it going and what are you giving? (thanks for the info Hells)

Take care all
Char & Ney
