Hi was just wondering if anyone has used this company with any of their babies or children?
The thing is I have emailed them some of my dd's pics and they rang me this morning saying that she is gorgeous blah blah and that the pics are going to be put to the panel to see if she is successful.
The thing what worries me is you have to pay £128 for a 3 yr contract which isn't a great deal of money but obviously I don't want to be scammed and I am always sceptical when a fee needs to be paid upfront.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Hey Vicky

There has been loads on the news recently about child modelling. Loads of women have been scammed paying up front to sign their children up. The advice was, if they want money first, walk away!!!

I wouldn't sign up if I were you...sounds like they are out for your cash!!

Have you googled them Vicky? there may be something on the internet that says whether they are genuine or not?

Hiya Vicky

I was googling about child models earlier after I seen your post on the Nov thread.

Models Direct seem like the only baby model place online I can see what looks decent! I looked a some others & they seem to expect a hell of a lot for very little money. Most of what I came across wanted money upfront, then your lil one gets paid £30 to go to an audition (which is usually in London it said on most of the sites), £50 if they get a shoot which lasts up to 3hrs & £150 if you get a shoot which takes all day! They expect you to drop everything & travel whenever they want you to & also they take a commision which is usually 20% from your childs wage - it seems a bit bloody cheeky to me! You get no travel expenses so by the time you pay for your travel to London or wherever it seems like your lil one will be working/modelling for pennies.

The models direct site was the only one what said it came under the Department of Trade and Industry so you could always double check that if you are a bit worried.

Just think, Ellie could be the next little one on the pampers adverts wiggling her little bum! haha

Hi girls, I did google them and the site looks genuine but you can never tell with these things can you? The £128 is for the admin fee and apparently they don't take a cut from what the babies earn. I will wait until the info comes through and see from there.

Hmmm if she does get a contract I think I will check with DTI (I have contacts!!! from my work!) so could check it out that way.

Thanks again for your speedy responses.

Hi Kia, this co is based in Norwich but she was telling me they only do photo castings which means that you don't have to travel somewhere and then not get the assignment. The babies get chosen from the pic.

If she is successful then I will be doing my research before I pay any money!

Just because they can't guarantee any work even though you are paying £128.

Hey vicky

wondered if anything came of models direct as my cousin persuaded me to send in photos of Bria and she was also awarded a contract. Don't know what we are going to do yet? £128 seems a lot of money but she could make that back in one job but obviously the work isn't guaranteed.

Did you ever sign Ellie up as Bria has also been accepted and I wondered if you had any experience with models direct or anyone else who might read this
