Hi Girlies,

I have always been a bit of a handbag fiend and the thought of carrying a rubbish looking changing bag around instead of my Versace is a little unsettling to say the least. Red Face

Can anyone recommend where you might get a stylish looking changing bag so that I don't have to lose my identity completely!!!!

Thanks.

Hi there I have had so many changing bags I have lost count. You can buy all kinds of nice changing bags, some dont look like one at all. Or just buy a reasonable size bag, a changing mat that you can fold up and keep in the bag and fill it with the bits and bobs you need. no need to loose your identity babe. xx

Hi 20Jan

I am also a handbag addict!!! When I had ds I bought a Louis Vuitton diaper bag. It was around the £900 mark when I got it, but it was amazing. The only draw back is baby poo doesn't care if it's Primark or Gucci....much to my shock when I had to scrub it Eeker It has bottle holders and it's own LV changing mat.

After the poo incident I started using a Samsonite bag and it was fantastic. It was not glamoress, but it was perfect. I got it for about £35 from Mothercare. and it was 100x better than the LV bag as far as a functioning changing bag went Smiler

hey ali might be too late but we recently bought a 'baba bing' bag from John Lewis which is really smart looking and only £50 -

has lots of compartments and bottle holders and a really good change mat.

Top tip: make sure that the change mat you get with the bag is substantial and EASY TO CLEAN!!!!

is the website.

Before that we had a rubbishly old Mamas and Papas one that fell apart quite quickly and the change mat was rubbish. Before you go splashing out tons of cash, do bear in mind that it will get skanky really quickly once your milk bottle leaks, the nappy sack with the dirty nappy in it bursts, etc etc !!!

Kate I'm sorry but £900 on a change bag????????? Eeker you are mad (in a nice way of course) Wink

Hi Loocy,

Yes I was slightly deranged Smiler Before having ds I had a very well paid job and used to buy bags, etc every month. In a way it was a substitute for having a baby (I would never have a dog you see).

When I fell pregnant with ds we were so happy and went mad buying everything we thought was the best for our baby. It's only with hindsight that you realise what is and isn't worth spending on!!

I assumed that a £900 changing bag would be better than a £30 bag. Unfortunately, as I said in my post above the Samsonite bag was far superior. Same with lots of other things. We bought ds a pack of Dior vests, but I preferred Ethel Austins vests. They washed better, had a better shape and I didn't cry whenever they got covered in sick or poo Smiler

Each to their own though I say Wink
