hi sophie, can't offer any advice but can tell you your not alone. mt lo is 6 weeks old and i had an episiotomy, only had sex twice since but both times have felt like i was losing my virginity all over again. LOL. (TMI coming up) also get that sharp pain when i go for a number 2, really stingging sensation. i was going to bring this up at my 6 week check next week, so i'll let you know if my gp comes up with anything.

Hi to you both, I was cut with my DS who is now 8 and I tore with DD who is 5 tomorrow and I tore again with DS 2. I had pain aswell when having sex Frowner I will be honest with you both, the outside heals faster then the inside and can take a bit longer than 6 weeks. Sophie try a different position and see if this helps. Remember is all been stretched and moved about so for a while it can feel painful. Try pelvic floor exercises as this really can help.

Good Luck to you both.

Best Wishes
Lorraine. xx

thanks lorraine.

let me know what your gp says sophie, we'll just be taking things slowly at my end, but i will definatly be asking the doc about it next week. can't help thinking i've been stitched back up too tightly!!!! but it probably is just needing more time to heal on the inside!!

Hi Nicola

Just had a rply on other thread, one of the ladies went through the same thing, she was given estrogen as her hormones were playing up and that sorted it, she xplained the exact same pain that i am getting.

Went to drs they just said it will get easier but lo is 4 months so will go abck and asked to be reffered to gyne i feel they stiched me up too tight or somewhere i shouldnt have been stiched.

spoke to a friend of mine whos friend was stiched against her back wall of vagina and she was in agony when having sex and going to loo so i am getting worried but fingers crossed it something simple.

Will keep you informed also let us know what gp says next week....

Luv sophie

hi sophie,

i'm getting worried now, although i wouldn't be at all surprised if my doctor messed up my stitches. my lo was born with a badly damaged shoulder due to the way the doctor used the forceps, thankfully my baby's shoulder has healed noe and she is fine, but i still feel a bit out of sorts. wil let you know, keep my up to date with your progress to.

sophie and nicola - i didn't have any tearing or cutting as you know nic so no stitches for me - but i still had the pain you are describing a few times and wierdly it wasn't the first two times but subsequent times that it came up - one time when i had a wee after, I nearly hit the ceiling it stung so much - its not necessarily the stitches so dont panic unduly - bear in miund that you often "graze" internally during labour and the same way that when you have a graze on your knee or whatever it stings like hell if you put something on it or you catch it - its the same with internal grazing. If you are using condoms you might find the latex or the other "stuff" on and in condoms can cause irritation and if you aren't and hubbie is (ahem...!) leaving you a pressie inside their "mess" can sting quite a bit - especially if they've eaten something strong or had a drink.

Other than that I don't know what else to say - I am ok most of the time now - but have to say it scares me a bit and dh is great in that he takes it nice and steady - I really think its just part of the healing process and some people take longer than others - for my friend (who had tests galore to check her out - all fine and again she had no stitches) it took her nearly 7 months to heal. Sorry to say but some women just take longer than others and Sophie 4 months isn't that long really hun from an outside perspective.

Hope this ramble helps a little - its normal in my experience but I am not a gp (obviously!!) just talking from girlfriends and my own experience - if you are worried keep nagging thenm but I am sure its nothing to panic over xxxxxxx

Good luck!

PS I've heard that woman on top position and using the withdrawl method (ie hubbie whips it out just before showdown) can help with this sort of problem - haven't tried the first but can vouch that the second works well x

Hiya ladies sorry to hear you are experiencing such pain.

Just a quickie for Nicnak, when I had DD I was in absolute agony going for a no2 for months! I merrily went along using anusol thinking it was piles!!! Eventually I plucked up the courage to go to the docs and I actually had a anal tear! Just wondered if this could be what youve got too?? Anyway, luckily the ointment they gave me which only works 70% of the time (or something like that!) worked and I didn't have to have surgery. I so wished id got it sorted sooner, so please please mention it to your gp just incase.

Thanks so much for the rambling really put my mind at ease it is true i understand what you saying, went to gp he said it shouldnt be hurting the way it is, going to take bloods this thursday and will do another internal whooppie,

I have been too scared to even attempt it but gp sayes the more you do the less the pain will become but that does not sound too good.

Also been given some bullet shaped wax tablets to put in rear too relive the pain they are helping not very nice though

Gp has said he will refer me gyne possibly hormone related will get results in 2 weeks so will know more then.

Thanks for the positions will try them if i have the bottle.

Latex condoms are a no no said the dr as they can irritate skin and if Hubbie isnt clean shaven this also can cause irritation, so much to think about,

You were very good everhopeful sure you not a gp?

take care all

will keep you posted

P.s Nic also try loads cooling lube dr mentioned one with menthol and other cooling ones as this help with pain..

hi zoe, i am pretty convinced i have got some healing to do on the inside now, thanks for popping over and for your pointers, dh and i have still only done it twide since alanna came along, she is a bit of a passion killer herself making us tired and sleeping inour bedroom, but might have to move her into her own room for the night! Wink, just to see how things are progressing downstairs.

vicky thanks for you input although it all sounds pretty scary. surgery?!???! Eeker i'm glad i didn't come to that with you and heres hoping i am the same but i will definatly be mentioning it to my gp tomorrow. good luck with your pregnancy and thanks again for popping on.

sophie, glad you've been to the doc, and hope you get some indication of what is up from your tests tomorrow. hope your brave enough to keep trying in the hopes that ir will get better, i certainly am, it's just a case of finding the time!!!!

just an update, had the gp check my scar today and seems all has healed well, so looks like there is some healing still to be done on the inside. it's only been 7 weeks so i've to see how i get on for a couple of months and go back if no improvment.
