Hi Ladies

This is going to be a quick post as Bethany is stirring.

I have breifly read through posts and totally agree with zoe about the formula milk, they wouldnt sell it if its no good. To be honest i have friends that bf and im so glad i dont. We have such a good routine with Bethany she feeds every 4 hours and has slept through the night since 6 weeks. I know all babies are different but i think formulas great.

Jenpen - i have found tommee tippee bottles crap to i use avent now and they are much better

Lea - hope you feel better soon xxx

Bethany had her jabs yesterday she was such a good girl, im so lucky she is such a good girl its an absolute blessing with all the crap thats going on in my life at the moment - its almost like she knows. I hope she wont be effected by it all i try my hardest not to cry around her and she still seems smiley and happy.

Sorry for missing loads of you out.

Nat xx

goood afternoon!!!

blimey a few days of tumble weed then a truck load of everyone posts lol

firtly i just wanna ditto wat everyone lese has said on the bf'ing front. if its nt working for you dont beat yourselves up about it. Formula is the next best thing and as everyone else has said it really wouldnt be on sale if it was bad. wityh my experience dd was formula fed from day one adn she is a perfectly healthy 3 yr old who (touchwood ) has never had anything more wrong with her than any other 3 yr old who attends playschool formula or bf'd. with rileyy i wanted to give it ago but it ddnt work out i beat myself up but now i have n turning back he is thriving obv. and we have a good little routine snd the biggest plus side daddy can get involved and feed him aswel.

nat - im really glad bethany is being such a star in all that your going through. kids have a way of making you feel great even when everyhing seems to be going wrong. thanks for popping on and updateing us sending you lots of hugs.

zoe- your such a busy women mind you though there doesnt seem to be enough hours for me in the day at the mo. glad wyatt has found a great little routine and your back to the land of normailty, were gettig there slowly but its def getting better.

nik- the only prob ive had with tommee tippee teats is that the no1's are to small for riley he sucked and sucked on them so we put him on size 2 and hes a lot more happier. apart from that i love them. Riley is in that inbetween stage to he has outgrown most of his newborn trousers but some tope still fit him but some of his 0-3 are stilla bit big especially the asda ones it annoys me why cant they all be the same size lol

lea- i cnt really say anymore than everyone else has but wanted to send you loads of hugs and the reasurance that i will get better and dont beat yourself up over the bottle thing hun!! xx

the mdwife went fine yesterday riley is 10lb 8oz so he as wacked it on and has jumped up two percentiles (?) i told her exacgtley what he eats and she even saw me give him a bottle and watched him polish it off she said hes just a hungary boy ive got to get him weighed every weeks for the next month and see where he is then hopefully he would have settled down a bit. apart from that all is good i said hes not quite smiling yet but gies you like a little half smile she said he will in the next couple of weeks. got my actual 6 weeks check with the gp on friday.

riley has now decided that hes too posh to poo in a slightly wet nappy i am literally changing him every hour he hates it and as soon as i change him hes fine funny little minkey.

i better go riley is asleep and dd is engrossed in lazytown so gonna take this oportunity to get some ironing done

xxx

Oh and bloody af is still hear and so heavy its killing me.

Hello girls!

Has anyone ever heard of a baby going backwards, from being bottle fed back to breast feeding? cos thats what Josh has done! He refuses bottles now, will only take on 3oz bottle at bedtime, when he is really hungry. All other feeds are BF, when about 3 weeks ago he was about 90% bottle fed. Its so strange! But he is still sleeping through the night, and going for 4 hour naps during the day, so im letting him do his own thing just now. I dont know how to get him back interested in the bottle - any ideas?

Hi Jen..... dont have any experience with that sorry hon, but glad Josh doing so well and sleping through the night, Zak sleeps till 6 so nearly there...

Hello to everyone else and thanks for kind wishes, d feel better, think I was trying to be super mum and super wife and sister for a while, but realise I cant do everything, gosh that was hard to admit Smiler

Have my niece wedding next friday so grandma watching Zak adnd girls all day and all night... so nervouse, know she will spoil him rotten but feels weird leaving him.... got a little travel cot for him so been putting him in for day time naps to make sure he likes it..

Must apologise for spelling errors, DH bought me one of those mini laptops and strange getting used to the smaller keyboard Smiler very thoughtful of him though.

Well Zak gets 2nd injections next week, he really didnt like the first lot an was a bit grumpy the same day and then again 2-3 weeks later was a bit grumpier.. Gave him calpol so that seemed to help... He still on 4oz bottles but does take 7 so pretty sure he getting enough and he into 3-6 months clothes from everywhere as he so long Smiler dont know where that from I only 5ft 2.

Anyway better go and make some tea, thirsty. take care all xx

Teri, good to see you again! Was it a shock to you too, having 3 kids? There were some days i just wanted to run away from it all, 3 demanding kids, trying to keep the house in a fit state and everythign else piled on top! Its getting easier now, but i was overwhelmed for awhile. Josh has been ok with his jabs, he has the 3rd lot soon.

Hope everyone else is good today! Ive just got a Wii Fit & board, so im off to do some yoga!

Phew glad noone seemed offended by my post!

Jenpen - wierd that but hey if he's happy and contented why worry?!! Get you with your Wii Fit! I could not be doing with that must admit - I am the LAZIEST when it comes to exercise!!!

nat - good to hear bethany is being such a little precious for you - I can't imagine how stressed you must be feeling right now with all thats going on.

Teri - I bet you were doing an amazing job it just didn't feel like it....I think we're a bit similar in that I too want everything to be as clean and tidy and normal as it was pre - labour day - but I need reminding that it isn't the same and I can't keep the house as spotless as it was when I was pregnant and bored! DH is very patiant but I think he'd rather I had a bit of time for him rather than constantly cleaning ironing and moaning Red Face

rach-jade - I'm struggling hun if I'm honest Frowner can't believe af still there - silly moo hope she goes soon!

well we've finally made the decision we are moving - we've been umming and ahhing about it since about february and now we're definately doing it - I'm worried about DS1 as really he would need to change school as the journey back here would be a bit expensive now that diesal is so high but I hope that at 5 it won't affect him too much...he's really having trouble at school as it is apparently - he's just so naughty - I can't understand it as 9 times out of 10 he's a little darling at home - it probably hasn't helped he's had 3 different teachers this term due to sickness and supply problems so he is already quite unsettled. Anyway - watch this space - I hope I don't regret this decision! x

hi girls blimey riley we;ve had a bit of action on here!!

firstly lea, I agree with all that's been said about not feeling guilty about giving a bottle - at the end of the day your baby needs to eat and if you do mixed feeding you'll both be happier I'm sure Smiler On the sleeping through the night thing - my DD slept through the night from 7 weeks and she was exclusive BF so not sure that formula is always the magic answer to that one - I think it depends entirely on the baby and reckon it's pot luck whether you get a sleeper or not!!!! Once Lochlan's a little bit bigger I'm going to start him on a bottle of formula once a day in the evening - I just want to make sure that he doesn't have colic before I start him on formula. Have you thought about whether Cora might have colic?? Just a thought? Also, Lochlan feeds constantly every evening too from about 7pm til about 11pm and my nipples get sooooo sore - I've started giving him a dummy for a bit too just to give my poor boobs a break so don't feel guilty about that either. Lochlan spits his dummy out after about 2 minutes but it generally settles him for a bit before he starts again! And I know what you mean about feeling really guilty about not spending time with your DS, but this phase won't last forever and DS will have forgotten all about it in a couple of weeks I'm sure. Take care hun and remember we are here if you need us.

As for things here, DH has gone away for a long weekend to Austria so my mum is down to help out for a week. I'm missing him already though and he's only been gone for a few hours - I'm so soppy!!!! Roll Eyes

Jsut out of interest anybody got a Phil & Ted? We've decided to buy one - we got given a side by side three-wheeler double buggy and I hate it as it's so cumbersome and HUGE!!! Everyone I know that has a P&T loves it - just wondering what people's expereince on here is???

Hope everyone else is well

love loocy x

Hiya - first of all apologies for the silly post the other night. I was just feeling down and needed somewhere to vent. I knew you girls would understand. Thanks so much for your support.

So just a quick update. My cold is on the way out now as is Cora's. She was back in the doctors yesterday as her soft spot was sunken and the doctor said she was dehydrated....how i have no idea as she is constantly feeding but she was. She was weighed too and is now just at her birth weight. She only gained 1 oz this week but at least she did not lose any. We saw the midwifw today as she also had a tongue tie (which can't have helped!) which she swiftly snipped off. I am so hoping we see an improvement in the bfing now. So last night i gave her just 1.5oz of formula before she went to bed and do you know what....she slept from 11:15 until 5:30am! I was sooooo pleased Big Grin This morning I feel like a different person. Sleep...biy have i missed that. I just hope things continue to improve.

Loocy - I actually think Cora might have colic although I am not sure if her stressing was due to wind caused by her tongue tie. Only time will tell i guess. She is very windy and brings her knees up and screams so i did suspect it already. It sounds like we have similar problems hey? I hope Lochlan gets into a better routine for you. I am sure we will both be praising them up in a matter of weeks. I forget she is so little i suppose. I am not sure abouth the P&T. I did think of getting one myself but DS does not need a pram now so I did not bother. They are so popular though so I am sure you will love it!

Zoe - thanks so much for your post. It was just what I needed to hear I guess. No need to be feeling guilty over something that can be sorted Big Grin Goodluck with the move. I am sure it will be fine :-)

Jenni - let me know what you think of the Wii fit as I am thinking about getting one too :-) Have fun! I hope Josh takes back to the bottle again. That would be tough. What a little minx hehehe

Teri - lovely to hear from you. It sounds like Josh is thriving! 3-6 months??? wow! I don't even have 3-6 month clothes yet lol. Cora is long too and in the 91st percentile. I have no idea where she gets it from either. Neither DH or I are tall :/ Enjoy the wedding :-)

RJ - well done on Riley's weight gain. That is fab! Goodluck at your 6 weeks check. So glad you are getting some half smiles..I can't wait for that :-)

Nat - I am so happy Bethany is a good girl for you. How are you doing? I hope you are ok. Still sending lots of positive thoughts your way x

I can't go back any further and Cora is stirring so better cut it short there. I hope everyone is ok.

Thanks again for your words of support...it helped :-)

Lea - 19 days old, cant remember Zak being that small now Smiler Zak had problems with colic as well - I would swear by Infacol, really helps him bring up wind, burps like a man now. Smiler

Zoe, I know you right, and sure DH thinks the same, sure I am on right path now, decided I need some me time also Smiler Selfish cow eh x

So whats everyone view to night time routines and what time is everyone putting little toots down at. Zak goes down around 9 and sleeps till between 4 and 6. goes back down after another bottle and sleeps will around 8.30 so that makes things easier.

Jen, let us know how wii fit works out

Hi ladies, wrote a big post earlier and lost it grrr!!! Sooo annoyed, think it went something like this…

Nat, keep your chin up babe, so pleased Bethany is being a good girl and your managing to pop on, don’t forget we’re here for you.

Rach-jade, don’t stress about riley’s weight. He’s doing brilliantly, alanna has just started with full smiles after a few days of teasing us with half smiles so any day now!!! Hope your check up goes well tomorrow. Hope af buggers off soon, what a bitch!!

Jenpen, don’t see alanna going back on the boob, she doesn’t even go on once a day, just every now and then, I would suggest if you want to get him back to bottle, just keep offering the bottle and only offer the boob if he gets upset, also have you tried a dummy, it might get him used to a teat. I have also read a few times that dummies can prevent cot death which is why I didn’t think twice about giving alanna one, it’s recommended that even breastfed babies have a dummy to sleep with after they are 1 month old. Hows the wii fit going, we are trading the xbox 360 for a wii, (have no idea how I managed to talk dh into that one) and I’m getting the wii fit and board for it. I also got the my health coach for the DS the other day, and I’ve been working on it like mad. Lost 1lb last week so heres hoping I keep making good progress.

Had my last physic appt today as my tummy muscles have joined back together, yippee! So I can start getting serious about exercising again.

Teri, pleased to hear your giving yourself a break, zak sounds like he’s doing great growing and sleeping well. Alanna goes to sleep about 9pm, she usually wakes for a fed about 5am, but the last 2 nights shes slept until 8am. So she had 2 nights in a row of 10 hours. she such a lazy bones but it’s really good of her to let mummy and daddy sleep.

Zoe, yay to moving, sounds like ds has quite a lot of change recently so it’s probably best to get it al over and done with.

Loocy I think the p and t look great and would probably get one if I had 2 babies!

Lea, don’t apologise for being upset the other night, it’s what we’re here for, I’m so glad your feeling better and a lot of your problems could well have been down to the tounge
Tie so I hope you see some improvement now.

Had my 6 week check today too, got a clean bill of health, wooohooo!

Teri - Josh gets put to bed at 8pm after a bottle, the same time i put the girls. He sleeps til between 4.30-6 am, breast feed then sleeps til about 7.30. Works great for us, as me & OH get some time together in the evenings now.

lea- glad you are feeling alot better. riley has a quite severe tongue tie and im having to fight my docs to get thm to snip it. how did your mw do it my dd also had a bad one and she was put under a general to have it snipped.

loocy- my cousin has the phil and teb one where they sorter sit in top of each other the baby at the bottom and she hates it herdd (the baby) screams the whole time she [ut in that bottom bit. she uses it as a single buggie and takes her in a carrier. but everyone likes dfferent things id go down to your nearset store and have a play Smiler

hi all

twice in one day - wowsers!

jenpen - glad josh has had a bottle - perhaps he was just teasing you?!! LOL to the tree position! Its quite tricky that one hey?! Sadly not bigger no but certainly better area as we're going across to Dorset which is more expensive than Somerset and we're going more rural - at the moment we're in a market town and we're looking to move to a village

rach-jade - sadly we are still the most popular place in britain...as lots of londoners like to "escape to the country" down here its keeps house prices really high. They haven't dropped yet but for the first time in years they have actually remained stagnent so with some luck they won't keep rising so ridiculously. Average 3 bed semi down here is just shy of £200k - I suppose thats still cheap by some standards.....not by mine tho Frowner

nicnak - I know he's had hellish change lately hasn't he bless him - it worries me so much but this move should make life more stable for him I hope - I agree with you - probably best to hit him with it all in one go so I can then focus on getting him back to normal asap.

teri - definately not selfish mrs!! Happy mummy makes for happy children - make that your mantra!!! x

lea - anytime hun - glad it helped x

loocy - left you a post on your other thread chick - hope you are happy with whichever double buggy you end up buying - big decision as they aren't that cheap at all!!!

right well I'm getting organised with this feeding malarky - much easier now I can see Wyatt's getting plenty to eat and god I think I forgot to tell you (sorry if I'm repeating myself) but he's now 9lb5!!!!!!!!! I'm gobsmacked - he was only 8lb2.5 last week!! Perhaps he'll be catching Riley up soon hey rach?! I'm waiting for my steriliser to be ready so I can try nats method of lining up the water in bottles reasdy for the formula - Wyatt tends to need 2 feeds in the night - abotu 2amish and about 5amish - although sometimes he will go from 9.30 right through til 4am - but not very often sadly!

See you all tomorrow hopefully! x
