Oh Nat, I am so sorry to hear your news. DH lost his dad in a similar way just last year and it was heartbreaking for all of us. I am so sorry for you and your family. He will never be gone though....you will see him everytime you look at Bethany....we see DHs dad in Billy everyday.

Take care and BIG hugs to you xxxxxxxxx

Well, Josh is officially on the mush now! he had food yesterday & today, and he LOVES IT! After eating 4 spoons of cauliflower last night, he then slept for 11 hours, and only woke because his big sisters were too noisy!

He is a little bit young yet, but he had started waking at night when he used to sleep through, he eats his fists all the time, he watches us eat and literally drools. He had gone from 3 oz bottles to 6 oz hungry baby bottles, PLUS breast feeding. So i gave in & started weaning. those who have had babies before, at what age did you wean? Josh is about 16 and a half weeks.

As for naps, Josh also only has small naps during the day, maybe on of about 2 hours, the rest are all smaller. But cant complain if he is going to sleep 11 hours at night!

Nat - I am so sorry hun. As you say the suffering is over for him but how awful for your family it all seems to have happened so quickly. Big hugs and whatever limited support we can offer here, we will all give I am sure ((()))

Teri - thats very kind offer! We're using the TT bottles and from your description they sound really cool actually - keeps it sterile I guess. Wyatt sounds same as Zak - he doesn't sleep much during the day and sometimes only manages 2 hours between feeds!

Jenpen - like teri DS1 was just around 4 months - so pretty much as you have done. He was just so hungry and Josh obviously felt he was ready to go onto the next stage.

rach-jade - its been pretty horrendous tbh - but hopefully now that the due date is past she may feel she can manage a bit better. Not really sure as she doesn't want to see Wyatt which is understandable. Still no sign of af - so god knows what the cramps are....

nic - cramping went for a day and now its back. Not sure what is going on there's no other type of cramp really like it is there so it must be af....just wish it would decide one way or the other!!!

Right well really hot this afternoon - and I am sooo looking forward to the end of term tomorrow - it'll be wonderful not to have to rush out of the door first thing in the morning for the next 6 weeks - thats what makes the nights such a killer! Wyatt was up 3 times in the night and DH had to go out to an RTA call out and didn't return til 2am so I didn't sleep well even when Wyatt was asleep! Oh well - hope everyone is well. nat - thinking of you hun x

evening all!

Teri - Zak will probably be looking for food soon as well i bet? Are you finding him totally different natured after having girls? I find he is more couthy and like more attention than the girls did. How are you coping with the school holidays?

Zoe - hope you get some relief from your cramps soon! I feel better about weaning Josh now, knowing other babies couldnt wait either. He enjoyed a bowl of carrot tonight lol

Its been so hot today! Josh wore only his vest for most of the day, and was in just his nappy this evening! he was so clammy, the poor wee thing. He is still sleeping 11 hours a night though, so fingers crossed he keeps this up!

RJ - x-posted you! I spent all day yesterday packing too, as im off to my mums on friday (shes near cambridge) I sent all our clothes down by courier today! you can send a massive box for about £6, they collect from your door & it will be delivered to my mums house tomorrow. Im doing it that way because i am taking all 3 kids on a 7 hour train journey by myself!!!! Yes, i must be mad! and £6 seems reasonable enough to pay to not have to drag luggage on & off trains. Hope you have a nice time in Dorset!

RJ - shes between Cambridge & Bury St Edmunds. I used to live there too, until i returned to Scotland.

The courier will take a massive box for £6, i got every thing we needed into it, including Josh's lightweight travel cot! All i need to take on the train is his stroller & changing bag.

evening girlies

rach, thanks for noticing my ticker had changed, yay to you losing another lb too!! i was a bit gutted to be honest at only losing 1lb after losing 3lb the weeks before, but it's a move in the right direction i suppose, (all that booze and fancy dinner on sat wouldn't have helped. alanna has always been a light sleeper during the day, but she sleeps 7-8 hours at night wakes for a fed and then sleeps another 4-5 hourd in the morning, i've only just started putting her to bed at 8pm and it seems to be working well so should have a proper routine going soon.

jen, if josh is eatting his mush he must be ready for it, if not he'd have spat it back at you again, excellent idea about the courier, btw.

zoe, rach has a point you should maybe try a hpt just in case.

im so jelous of rach and jens hols, im not even getting away for a weekend this summer.

how often are we meant to change babies dummies? is it every month and if so does that mean their bottle teats should be changed every month also?

well of to do the ironing and watch bb!!!

jen - yea to the mush!! my DD was born after they'd moved to the 6 month weaning guideline, but I started her at 20 weeks as I couldn't wait any longer coz she was so hungry!! my HV made me feel so guilty though - she was practically acting like I wouuld kill her if I weaned her early. Eeker As it turns out, she's very healthy and she just loves eating (most of the time!). OMG 3 on a train!!!! good luck! have a lovely time. that courier company idea sounds great - much cheaper than flying with it and much easier. I might look into that next time i go up to scotland!!

Rj have a fab holiday - we're off to dorset in September so you can let me know all the things you got up to!

things here are good. Lochlan has been having 3-4 oz of formula and breast about 10pm the last two nights and slept for about 7 hours each time. I still feel a bit bad about the formula but the sleep is brilliant and I need all the energy i can get for DD. she's at that wonderful age where 'no' means absolutely nothing whatsoever. yesterday caught her playing with the loo brush - YUK!! and this morning couldn't find the car keys as she'd gone into my handbag and taken them out. Finally found them on top of our DVD player AFTER I'd taken her and lochlan on the bus to her nursery. What a palava!!!! Still, it's such a lovely age too as she is just so much fun and laughs at everything so I shouldn't complain really!!!

Lxx

Hello girls!

Got Josh weighed today - and he is 15lbs 9 oz Eeker Apparantly, the mixed feeding is the problem, and ive to either fully BF, or cut out his daytime BF and only give bottles, then BF at bedtime & breakfast! I think we will go with the 2 BF and 3 bottles a day. I didnt dare tell her that he has had a few spoons of carrot mush too!
