Im the messy on in our house, while DF is the neat one lol. I dont think not being 100% showhome spotless is going to make anyone think you are not coping - you have 2 kids now, one who is just a small baby! My HV told me once that they worry more about the mums who have spotless homes than those who are a little messy, as they are usually the ones not coping lol!
The Dr has said we have to take away 5 weeks from Josh actual age, and to assess his development by the adjusted age, so basically he is classed as being 10 weeks development wise, not 15. So i guess he is doing alright!

hi lisa, great to hear from you, i hope the hv gave you soon advise re feeding katy, have you tried expressing, (if you get a chance) and feeding her a bottle of milk to give yourself a wee break, that assume your breastfeeding of course.
jenpen wow at josh being in his bumbo, that great especially if you've to think of him as 10 week old, obviously theres no holding him back. alanna dosne't much like being on her tummy on her play gym but loves it if she on mine on dh's chest and often falls asleep laying on us, she also pulls her head up and has a good nose about whenever she is on my chest or shoulder. how do you go about baby led weaning?
zoe, guve yourself a break sweetie, great advise from jenpen, i second that. i'm just about managing the basics throughout the week and then on the weekends get dh to be in charge of alanna for a few hours so i can get a good clean done, (even then it's still not great). but i don't have a 5 year old to look after too. your kiddies are far more imortant than the housework or what people think as you well know so relax, enjoy the mess! i hope the head teacher wasn't to bad and ds1 isn't being too naughty bless him. our weather is funny to, it's lovely and sunny today but the wind is rediculous.
nat sorry your not happy with your silvercross 3d, i really like mine the only complaint i have is that alanna seems to feel every bump in the road and very rarely has a good sleep in it, having said that shes still sleeping in her pram since we finished our walk 30 mins ago. i never bought the carseat as it did't have a base and i didn't want to be faffing about with seatbelts everytime we got in the car so bought a seperate one.
just wan to check that everyone has a backup plan for feeding bottle fed babies in the event of a powercut!! scottish power have switch my electricity of twice this week and thankfully alanna has taken a breastfed both times, (we've had some kind of fault in the supply!!!) but when i phjoned up to complain they said it was up the me to have a backup plan for feeding my baby!!!! which i had never even considered until it was too late.
zoe re the emotional stuff... i burst into tears when i came of the phone to scottish power just because i hadn't thought of a backup plan, i quickly realised it wasn't a problem but still felt shitty!!!!
just weighed myself and i've lost 3lb this week woohoo!!! lots of walking and sensible eating is paying off.
hi to everyone not mentioned.

hi Nic! - Josh takes his bottles room temp, so we are fine if there is a power cut, as i always have cartons of pre-made milk in the cupboard and in his changing bag. Plus he is quite happy to be breast fed anyway lol!
Baby led weaning is where you totally miss out the puree stage, and go straight to finger foods. You have to wait til 6 months though, but ive been reading up on it, and i am hoping Josh can wait til 6 months so i can try it! A lot of mums rave about it.
woohoo to the weight loss! According to my Wii Fit, ive lost 3lbs too, so im chuffed
hi jen baby led weaning sounds great, i don't know if i'll be able to wait that long, i'd like to follow the advice and give alanna nothing but breastmilk for 6 months but can't help thiking i'll end up giving her some baby rice or someyhing at 4 months. we'll just have to wait and see.
woohoo to you losing 3 lb too, i've jazzed up my profile with a weight loss ticker and piccie of alanna. my dh STILL hasn't cleared the hard drive of the xbox 360, so i can't take it to trade for my wii. i'm sure he's stalling i've been at him to do it for weeks!!!

hi all chatties! My mum's been here so not really had time to log on as we've been doing lots of stuff. It's lovely to have my mum visiting and I get on really well with her but, boy, after a while your parents do your head in don't they???
Lea so pleased to hear Cora's tongue tie was so easily sorted. let's hope the feeding goes well from now on in. If it helps, I used Aptamil for DD and still do for her bedtime cup of milk - I know she can take cow's milk now but it doesn't fill her up enough at bedtime!!! LOL she's a greedy monkey!
jenpen/teri - eek weaning?! I can't believe that your babies are that old you're thinking of it. Seems strange!!! AAAAGGH all that pureeing all over again!!!
zoe like everyone says don't worry too much about the house. It's a nightmare staying on top of it all with 2 of them isn't it? There really aren't enough hours in the day to fit in housework too. I did the hoovering the other day for the first time in about two weeks = the place is still a midden!!!!!
Well little Lochlan seems to be settling into a routine and we are getting there - he does 11 til about 3 and then 4 til about 6.30 which fits in well with DD as she gets up about 7, so I have half an hour to feed him before she wakes. Mind you, for some reason she was up at 5 the other day - jeez I was knackered by about 9am!!!! And his evenings seem to be settling down - he still gets cranky but nothing like he was before. He's got a really bad cold though and is coughing like an old man smoking 60 a day. took him to the docs today who said it was bronchilitis and it would go in a couple of weeks. Poor lamb!!!
Great to hear from you Lisa - hope that things settle down for you soon. Would be great to hear from old timers like Ali and cherie too.
lisa- great to hear from you chick!! sorry to hear about the feeding problems hope the hv was able to give you some good advice.
jen= wahoo on loosing 3lbs. i did baby led weaning with my dd at 24weeks but did start her on baby rice at 16weeks c uz she was so hungary hopefully i will be able to do the same with riley.
nat- im with you on the silvercross looks gorgeos but i hated it after tw weeks we have now got a fisherprice safe voyage which is great.
nik- look on the net how to wipe dh harddrive and do it for him lolwell done on the 4lbs lost ive got a weight loss ticker aswell now love the pic of alanna gorgeous eyes. we actually had a power cut the other day i fraked cuz i never had a clue what i was gonna do but dh ponted out why dont you just boil the water on the hob in a saucepan i was like d'uh i felt so stupid lol
zoe- hun dont beat yourself up so much your most important job is looking after your boys i know im just like you and its killing me that my house looks like a tip i have time for a quick flit round then when they are both asleep at night i do my floors and that but thats only id riley plays ball and actually sleeps lol.
loocy- glad lochlan seems to be settling down and yoru getting onto a good routine.
well i lost 4lbs also on weightwatchers this week. im so pleased with myself but still got a long way to go went to get riley weighed today as i was told to do so and he has put on 1 lb so he is now 11lb.8oz which shows he may well be slowing down a little now even though the piggy does have 7 oz every 3 hours im not sure where he puts it. talking of naughty sibling my dd has become a rte madam of late she really played up over the weeked and when dh went to tell her off she put her hands on her hips and went "shame shame" what a madam i just dont know what to do with her at the moment.
anyhoo i better go got to fight dd to get int he bath now lol oh the joys of parenting
wow what hungrier little babies on this site.... Zak on 5oz every 3 hours but would take it more often if we let him but not more than 5oz he funny.... Jen as for neck muscles, Zak the same sits in bumbo and holds neck but tummy muscles not quite there yet, lies on tummy quite happy for a few minutes then freaks x well done on weight loss..
Zoe everyone right, I was doing exactly the same, trying to be supermum and superwife, trust me hon doesnt work... must admit did find it hard going from 1 to 2 kiddies, 3 just everything comes floodig back.
Well Zak teething..... I know nightmare, I can see the first two little buds at the front pushing through poor toot.... did sleep 11 hours last night though then had 5 oz and slept another 2. Must be the heat, like a holiday resort here today, light wind that is roasting
Rachel well done on weight loss tooo I have wedding on friday and was tryi9ng for that but only lost 5lbs
Loocy Zak was the same every evening around 6ish till 8 he was a grumpy little toot, sorted itself out now.

teri its great to have you posting agsin hun hope some of the other mummis come back and update us soon.
as for the tummy thing riley actually prefers it on his tummy to his front. he hold his head really well and lifts it up when on the floor he looks like a little turtle lol complete opposite to my dd she hated it on her front.
whas these bumbo things everyyone is going on about?
loocy sorry to hear about lochlans bronchitis i hope he gets better soon.
rach yaeh to losing 4lb in a week thats great, i just stocked up loads of weightwatchers food, heres hoping we all keep shedding those pounds, i'll give dh until the end of the week then i might well atempt to scrub the xbox myself. i have an electric cooker so cant even use the hob in my house! reily is a hungry wee boy, alanna only takes 6oz every 3-4 hours and i thought that was alot.
teri, poor we zak with his teeth, oh the joys we all have awaiting us. i have my best friends wedding in 2 weeks and was hoping to have lost more weight too,i'm going shopping in glasgow tomoorow for something to wear and i'm dreading it as nothing looks good on me just now, can't wait to buy loads for alanna though, but don't be disheartened, 5lb is great.
well alanna and i just got home from our antenatal class reunion is was fab to see everyone with their babies and compare birth stories, we had loads of girls too, 12 girls and 3 boys!

hi everyone, saw hv on monday, basically katy just very hungry. she now taking 3-4 0z every 2hrs which is a bit better. i still havent got ro7und to changing my ticker, must do it soon.my housework has gone out the window too, i never thought id be so chilled about it because normally i have to be so organised but just dont have time or energy at the moment. really struggling with the tiredness thing, only getting cat naps here and there because she only sleeps 15-20 mins at a time. shes definitely very different to ds, who was such a chilled baby. my weight loss isnt too bad need to lose 10lb to get back to normal weight , must have all been fluid. but have any of you ladies tried spanx? theyre fab control pants that go up to your chest and what a difference, i can easily fit back into size 12 when i have them on and at 25 quid quite reasonably priced. anyway soz for waffling, sorry havent done any personels but i have katy in left arm and it is now going numb(shes 10lb 4oz)so will say bye for now and hopefully catch up at a quieter time. love lisaxxxxxxxxx

well not much else been going on where are you all last night i decided i would try a bit of a routin with riley he had his last botle at 9 ish then i put him up in his bed shut the door and left him turned the monito on he was wriggling about and complaining a bit but within 15 mins he was fast asleep. dh came home from work @10 and we had a nice cup of tea b4 going to bed riley didnt wake untill 4.30 i couldnt bleave it gonna try it again tonight hope fully it wasnt a 1 off.
Well monday evening was horrendous and tuesday not much better - I had a real downer to be honest first it was a crap parents meeting at school then it was to discover that Maternity Allowence have cocked up my payments and I haven't had tyhe last two weeks worth - wondered why we were a bit skint - and then had to go to the HV today and do this bloody Edinburgh scale questionaire - any of you others had to do this? Basically if you get over 12 then you need watching for postnatal depression and I got 13. Typical. The questions were only focussed on the past week so given that my world is falling apart this week it's hardly surprsing is it?!! Luckily the HV was really sweet about it and said that given the week I'd had so far she was really impressed I hadn't got anything higher. She isn't worried about me but she did ask me to weigh Wyatt every week at clinic for a few weeks just so she can say she's checked in with me. She wanted to come round the house and I was like - no way I would be panicking about hoovering and crap like that and it'd just be more stress!
Anyhoo -Wyatt now weighs 10lb3.5!!!!! He's basically managing about a lb a week - porker! She also said she would prefer we left the hungry baby milk for his last feeds of the day and use the normal one the rest of the time but up the amount to 7oz - currently he takes 5-6oz every 2-3 hours sometimes 1.5 hours. She was so helpful it actually made me feel really good today - thank god! Yesterday was a right downer.
OK enough about me - sorry its a bit of a me me me post....
Nic - can't believe you are doing the weight loss thing on top of everything else - you are incredible woman - I barely get through the day let alone thinking about weight loss and weddings and god knows what else!!!! Good point about the power cut tho - we've just switched to Scottish Power so hope they don't start messing us about too!!
Lisa lovely to hear from you - Wyatt has had similar feeding issues so I totally understand howyou feel. have you switched to formula or still BFing? I managed 6 weeks and thats as good as he got sadly. Hope it settles for you soon.
Teri - poor Zak! Can't believe he's teething already! Stock the fridge with bonjela and hope it passes quickly! You sound much happier these days - I'm glad x
rach-jade - you're doing great on the weight loss front! And when the hell did you find time to make muffins???!!! What am I doing wrong?
Loocy - great to get some support from mum - but yes know what you mean - family do get tiring after a while!! Poor lochlan! Hope he gets better soon
jenpen - I'm loving the sound of your Wii - might have to talk DH into getting one!!!
Right well think thats everyone. I am never going to lose weight - I am SOOOO hungry all the time - we had spaghetti and meatballs for tea (big portion too!!) and I've just sat and ate 2 bags of crisps while typing if there was chocolate in the house I'd devour that too!!! God knows whats wrong with me - I just want to eat constantly. Might have a bath tonight if I get enough ironing done....DS1 needs clean uniform.....
God how embarrassing is this...stopped at the garage to get more diesal and couldn't unscrew the petrol cap....... had to get back in the car and drive home -DH of course managed it straight away when he went back later and tried it.....I am officially losing the plot!!!!!!
