hi there, well my honest opinion is that i think they are taking this a bit far telling you not to send her to nursery! she will either get it or she wont, she may have already got it, the longest it has been known to come out is 25days! - so this means you could be on holiday and she comes out in it. so i would continue to send her - its a bit unfair to make her missout on her socialising without mum just in case. you will find chicken pox comes about every year all round this time so you can't not send her to nursery/school every year just incase. if she does get it before you go bath her several times a day with bi-carbinate of soda(it helps dry the spots really quick) and use calamine cream or oil rather than lotion as it doesn't dry the skin so much. have a great holiday!

me too, chicken pox went around my sons nursery a few weeks back he goes 3 half days and he didnt get them but some kids that only go 1 half day did,its just a 50/50 chance, and if she did get it this week you are still gonna be able to fly as within a week to 10days they'll have scabbed over.[ ]

Thank you both, that's what I thought too. She loves nursery and it's been really good for her. The place we're going to is my parent's so if we need to we can always go out a little bit later if she does get it. All I need to do now is convince her Dad!! Sarah
