Hi, me again. Callum slept right through the night last night, can hardly believe it! When the clocks went forward for us it was a positive move as instead of getting up at 6am we are now getting up at 7am, a better start to the day. Now Callum loves his bed with his teddies he rolls about in it so much that whenever I check up on him he is in a different position from when he went to sleep, last night he was asleep on his tummy, was reluctant to move him in case I wakened him up but he did that himself not long after. Happy days!!!

lol. well thats good news about him sleeping through. Big Grin

i ended up having a long day out with my best mate yesterday. alicia fell to sleep on the bus back home about 5, i had to carefully move her from pram to cot without waking her and she slept right through until 6am this morning!!
turns out she in't well though, just been to sainsburys' to get sum medicine and decided to go round to the canal and feed the ducks and she puked up 'little britain' style and soaked her coat, blanket and jumper through Eeker bless her.

i just dosed her up with caplol and nurofen and shes gone back to sleep.

probably spoken to soon now though now im gonna follow in her footsteps and crash in bed Roll Eyes lol

Hi All,

Perhaps i am just a mean mummy but lovely as they are our children cant rule the roost forever, and night time is the only time i consider 'adult time' so i am afraid i know every trick in the book for bedtimes!

My main tried, tested and work tips would have to be....

Make their rooms and beds and pyjamas special for them, let them choose and let it only be theirs.(this also helps teach respect for their things and recognise other peoples things too, my kids always knock on my bedroom door b4 coming in because i always knock on theirs)
This makes bedtime easier if they want to get into their bob the builder pj's and get under their thomas the tank duvet!

Keep a potty in the room for children training, it keeps the fuss down to a min, and takes away the excuse to come out of the bedroom for a wee.

If a child is still waking and demanding a feed during the night and they are fully weaned then try replacing the usual night feed with water, there should be no need to be hungry at night if they eat during the day, possibly try some cereal and warm drink b4 bed if you are unsure if they are waking for hunger or not.
Try the water thing for a week, in my experience the waking stops as its not worth them waking for water so they dont, although be prepared for a fight, try to get a week of sticking to your guns and it should work.

Kids are smart little cookies, from a very young age, there has to be various tricks of the trade, all work differently for different children but generally there are ways to not get totally overruled!!

Hope it helps,

Pinky xx
