The signs were all false sadly. Af arrived at the weekend. I know its only cycle 1 but I hate the suspense of TTC. I want a baby and I want one NOW Smiler.

Hi all!

Can't beleive how quick our little ones are growing up!

Fleur is adorable, but can be a real little madam now! she's learning very quickly how to stick up for herself aginst her big brothers and i seem to get similar treatment when i tell her off!

We've all been suffering with this horrid chesty cough and cold thing thats flying around at the mo and it's not nice!

Tallgirl, i keep stalking you on the ttc thread, any more symtoms yet??

To the girls that are expecting, can you post bump and/or scan pics on our msn site and some updated pics of the little ones would be great to see!! Big Grin

I don't know if you remember my sil who has been ttc for about 7yrs now and has had failed IVF etc.. she has now also been diagnosed with endo to add to the huge list of probs....anyway....me and dh have been talking and are considering offering to be a host surrogate for them!
What are peoples views??

Anyway big hugs and belly rubs!

Wow Bubbly, being a surrogate for someone is probably about the most selfless thing a woman can do. Would the baby have any biological link to you or would you use your SiL's eggs and her partner's sperm?

To be honest I don't think I could do it. I just couldn't be sure that I could bring myself to give the baby away after I had carried it for 9 months. And even if I could give it away I would worry about the impact it would have on me and my family. I would also worry about the effect it might have on the child that was given away. Knowing that you were a "wonderful gift" may be a glorious thing growing up, or a terrible burden. Its just all so hard to predict. To add to that the conception process would be pretty fraught with the stress of egg stimulation, IVF etc. Even that level of stress would impact on DH and DD too much for me.

Sorry that all sounds really negative. I don't mean to be. I do think it would be incredibly generous. I am just not selfless enough to go there. If you do then I wish you all the luck in the world Smiler

xx

PS Tallgirl - thanks for the invite to the TTC thread. I probably will join you soon although for now I am trying not to obsess and stress too much (yeah right).

Hi girls,

Well its been yonks since I've popped on here, and there are several congratulations! Pink bumps for PJ and Kate...how lovely for you! Will have to have a proper read to see how far along you both are..
PJ, sorry to hear about your low lying placenta, I had that with Aidan, and it had shifted by 34 weeks, it was still low, but not covering the os. They say that 90% do shift up. I expect you'll be monitored very regularly.
Well thats it for additions to the family for us! I think that we have our fair quota of children! It has been knackering having 2 so close together, but now the little one is sleeping really well, I can finally feel some brain power coming back!

Gonna have a proper catch up read, and will hopefully pop on again soon...

silky xxxx

Hi girls

Silky - great to hear that you are doing well. I can't imagine how tiring it is with two little ones! How does Joesph get on with Aidan? They will grow up really close, it will be lovely.

Bubbly - Wow a surrogate! me and dh were talking about this a while ago (following the storyline on Hollyoaks!!). It is the most generous thing you can do and I can't imagine how upsetting it is for your sil. I would like to think that if my sister/sil were in that position I would help them as I know from having Abbie how wonderful and life changing having kids can be. I think I would be more reluctant if the baby would be my actual baby (rather than their egg & sperm) as I think that would be very hard watching my actual flesh and blood being brought up by others. Also, I don't think it would be something i would consider until I had def finished having my own children. Hope that doesnt sound selfish but think it would be even harder to hand over the baby if a big part of me still craved my own children. Sorry I think I sound negative too, but I think if you and dh are both 100% in agreement and are armed with all the facts then it is the MOST wonderful thing you could possibly do. All the very best of luck if you do decide to go for it, we will be here to support you as much as we could xx

Can anyone post a link to our msn group and I'll post some up to date pics of my little madam, would love to see all your babies, bumps and toddlers too!

Hope everyone else is well

Lynn x

Hi girls

Wow! thanks for your loevly comments about the surrogacy, it means alot to me to get other peoples outlook on the whole thing.

I would be a 'Host Surrogate' so that means it would be his sperm and her egg, therefore not part of me.
I most def couldn't do it knowing the baby was a part of me, now the only thing is that obviously it would be my blood running through the baby's veins, but i don't see that as a problem.

How could i not give a baby to it's rightful parents at the end, knowing i'm not the mother? i think there is no doubt about it that it would be hard after carrying for 9 months, but if there is alot of comtact between us all i think it would work??

I so desperatly want to do this and have talked about it before we had Fleur, but we knew we wanted more children then and had we done it before we has completed our own family, i think if it had been a girl i wouldn't of coped very well as i wanted my little girl then.

So have done lots of research, but it could be a long process as it's basically IVF but with 3 people!

I'll let you all know my decision.

I'll try and find the link for our msn group too.

big hugs, bubbly x x

Hi ladies, its nice to hear from some of you.

Silky, its nice to hear from you. glad your boys are doing well and you're starting to feel a bit more human now they are both sleeping well. It must be very hard work. Will be geat when there a bit older as they'll have so much in common being close in age.

Tallgirl, glad to see you ov'd, fingers crossed for you.

Chloe, sorry you got af. Finger crossed for this cycle and I hope Anna is helping to take your mind off ttc.

Lynn, how are you doing? would love to see new pic's of Abbie. I'll get around to posting some pic's too.

Bubbly, I think surrogacy is a wonderful gift. I'm not sure I could do it so hats off to you. You know we'll all support you in whatever you do. My sister considered it but decided it would be too hard to hand baby over unkess if was for me, but she did 2 rounds of egg donation insead.

Well I am well, feeling a little movement. Had the full results from the amnio yesterday and got the all clear for all he rare stuff too so we're very happy. Ben is very ill with a nasty stomach bug, he's currently not allowed any food on dr's orders and cooled boiled water and diluted milk by the teaspoon. Its breaking my heart but he does seem to be a bit better - although starving!!!

Better go as he wants something from under the sofa!
