Hi everyone, hope you're all ok. We're fine, I introuced a third meal for Ben so now he has cereal/porridge for breakfast, veg for lunch and fruit for supper and last night he slept almost 12 hrs solid! (8.30pm-8.10am) only the 2nd time he's done that he usually wakes once for a bottle in the night (when he's not ill), so I'm seeing if its another one-off or not.

Ben will be 5 months on Sunday, can't believe it really. We're taking him on his first holiday in June, we've booked a luxury villa with a private pool in Crete, can't wait!

Hi people,

Just a quickie,
Never have time to sit at the computer these days!
We have had a boring Xmas. Charlie teething so been a bit krankie. Lewis enjoyed it though. We had kids babysat for first time since Charlie was born this weekend. We went to a fancy dress party. OMG - rough as hell all day Sunday - won't be doing that again in a hurry!
Charlies sleeping pattern still quite eratic. He is still really lazy too - not rolling or sitting but ver solid on his feet - just wants to stand all the time.

Bye for now

Just posted this on main forum but wanted to put it here in case anyone misses it:

I'm sure some of you will know this already but for those who don't and have some Xmas or other pics they need printing -

I just got an email from Bounty and www.snapfish.co.uk are currently offering 30 free prints to new customers and another 50 for only 1p each when you enter the code PENNY at the checkout.

I just got 80 6x4 prints for £2.19 including postage. That's 0.02p each!

Offer end midnight tomorrow though so you'll have to be quick.

KATE77 - Mason is on 3 meals too, the same routine as Ben it seems. I have found it's hard to judge how much milk he will want though and I have been wasting some because of this.

Hi ladies, well Ben was weighed today and is 15lb 12oz. We both have colds but touch wood Ben is still sleeping through the night, usually about 12 hrs, its been the last 5 nights so far. We're both full of a cold though.

Carla, I always give Ben his bottle before his solids, he has 7oz at 8am with his breakfast and of that I use about 1-2oz to make up his cereal or porridge. Then 7oz at midday with his veg and again at 4pm with his fruit. He then has 8oz before bed. He usually finishes his bottles or leaves about 1oz. He only has 4 bottles a day now he's sleeping through but seems more than satisfied. I never imagined how complicated all this would be!

Hi everyone

Kate - sounds like Ben is doing really well with feeding/sleeping etc.

Katie has been having 3 meals for a while too now - although i am cutting her milk down as it has improved her reflux. She tends to have her solids first but like Ben has porridge for breakfast (although ours has to be made up with water rather than milk) and then a couple of big cubes of veg and a fromage frais for lunch and then a couple of cubes of fruit either on it's own or mixed with homemade semolina/rice pud for tea! She definately prefers her sweet stuff - just like her mum! She has also been having her water/diluted apple juice out of a trainer cup which is going down well as she didn't seem to want it from a bottle lately!

Chele - hope you are feeling ok now!!!! How's the head!

Katie is rolling back to front and front to back again now. You barely put her down before she flips over! She is almost sitting up on her own- just flips herself back if you're not watching!!! And she loves sitting in her activity centre. She has a real look of concentration when she is playing with stuff!

I hope everyone else is doing ok.

Karen

Hi all,

Well my lazy boy has decided he can sit up after all. Quite bizaare really. He wasnt anywhere near yesterday and then all of a sudden, he sat on the bed for about 2 - 3 minutes unsupported. Thinking it was a fluke, I sat him on the floor and again he sat unaided for ages. He even rocked forwards and backwards and kept his balance!
I am still bfeeding morning, evening and during night. He is still waking at least once for a feed and then doesn't want to go back to sleep! Knackered.

Karen - Thanx head much better. Won't be doing that in a hurry again!

My day off 2morrow. Yeah! Added a couple more pics on photo thread.

Hi all!!!

God it's really hard to get on here these days!!

Fleur has been poorly alot recently, bless her.
She seems to have a constant cough and cold and has had a couple of ear infections and is just getting over a bad chest infection.

So sleep is all over the place as when she had her ear infections she couldn't lie down cause it hurt her, so i ended sitting up in bed asleep with her alot and it's thrown her sleep pattern out the window, but i'm not going to worry till she's 100% better.

Well still 100% breast feeding and considering solids too, but haven't got any further with it.

She was weighed today at a very good 17lbs 9ozs!!

Right will come on here tomorrow when i'm more awake and catch up on all your posts! and have a natter!! lol

Take care all,
bubbly and fleur x x

Wow, it's quiet on here, I only got a minute though so can't catch up properly, just wantes to post this:

Has anyone heard of a Baby Safe Feeder before? My friend gave me one yesterday so I can feed Mason with lumps of fruit or meat and he can't choke but it encourages chewing. I gave him some apple today and he loved it.

Just wondered if anyone had seen them before or used them as I'd never heard of them until she gave me it.

Also, does anyone use Rusks? Apparantely they have as much sugar as a doughnut!!! How can they be allowed to sell them? All my Mum and MIL go on about is giving Mason rusks and I think they think I am being silly not letting him have them but there's no way I can give him something that has that much sugar!

Hi all
Sorry I havent posted for such a long time, my home pc has decided not to work anymore so we are still trying to get it fixed. I'm back at work now so I should have more time to post hehe! I started back at work on tues, just working tues, thurs and fri. I hated Tuesday I couldnt stop thinking about Abbie all day. She is in a day nursery on tues and fri at the moment until she settles and gets used to it then we are hoping to just use it once a week to save some money. All tuesday morning she cried and cried and wouldnt eat her dinner. I felt awful and so cruel, I'm really hoping she is more settled today.
Abbie has started to sit up on her own now and will sit happily playing with her toys (or should I say eating them!) for a while now, of course I surround her with cushions as when she gets fed up she just falls backwards! She is still not interested in rolling though, cant see her ever crawling, she will probably be a 'bum-shuffler' like I was!!

Apart from working we are getting on fine. Abbie was 18lb 6oz the last time I had her weighed. she loves her food and is having 2 meals a day. I'm wondering if I should start reducing her milk a little so she takes more food or is it still too early to do that she currently has roughly 6oz at 7am, 4oz and veg at 11am, 6oz at 2pm, 4oz at 5pm and 9oz at 8pm.

Bubbly - sorry to hear Fleur has been ill, hope she is feeling better really soon

Carla - my mil bought Abbie a box of rusks and a bag of chocolate buttons for christmas!!!!! I couldnt believe it! I have given her half a rusk while they were round one day because they were going on and on about it! Abbie loved it but I'm not suprised I knew they had sugar in them but cant believe how much! I told them she is def not having the chocolate for a good few months yet! I think my parents and mil think I'm being too strict because I will only give abbie fresh fruit and veg I have cooked or the pure veg jars that she takes to nursery. she loves it all so why should I give her anything other than that! they also keep telling me to give her some baby juice but she will drink cooled bolied water when she is thirsty so i dont she why I should!

Anyway rant over, Hi to everyone else

take care
love Lynn & Abbie

Hi girls,

Lynn - lovely to hear from u. Also glad that Charlie is not only one not rolling. He is sitting really well and loves to stand up but is showing no signs of rolling. Have to admit, he has also had half an organic rusk but it was desperation and he was not 2 keen anyway,
Louise - for some reason keep wanting to call u Maizie - cos of your huge signature strip! Charlie was not over keen on veg but HV advised me to mix it with fruit so I mixed apple into all his veg food and it went down a treat!
Bubbly - Lovely to hear from u 2. Do u mind if I ask u a personal question - did u feel that you family was not complete until u had a girl? Don't want to put u on spot but I am really yearnng after a girl. Is this normal? I really love my 2 boys and would not swap them 4 the world but am I being greedy wanting a girl 2? Doesn't really matter anyway cos my dh has said no more!

Hope everyone else is well. Miss the old preg days - I keep popping on 2 the pg forum and it just makes me nostalgic - and sad I suppose. We used to post on there all the time and just look at us now! Busy Mums!
