Hi All
Gosh its nice to see everyone posting and hear all your news. Sorry to hear so many people have been ill, thatg# bug sounds horrible.
Welcome Joanne. My daughter Anna was born with the help of forceps on 17 August weighing 9lbs 4oz (Tallgirl - I have just realised we ended up having our babies on the same day!). I was induced a week early due to pre-eclampsia. Anna is now 15 weeks and 15 lbs. I am still breastfeeding and do not intend to start weaning until about 5 months so I can't help you but you will probably be able to help me in a few months!
PJ Girl - we took Anna swimming for the first time after her 2nd jabs. She was so sweet - nervous at first but no tears and by the end big smiles. We only stayed in about 10 mins though. (Kate77 - Anna was sick too, quite embarrassing isn't it?). We are starting a Little Dippers underwater swimming class.
Sharon - sorry to hear about the trouble at Leland's christening. How selfish of your friend. It sounds like you are feeling a bit more upbeat now though.
Girls - are Chele and I the only ones whose babies are not sleeping through the night yet??? Anna is great at getting herself to sleep on her own in her cot at 6.45pm and not waking properly until 7am. But about 50% of nights she wakes twice for a feed (around midnight and 4am); 40% she wakes once (about 2.30am) and only 10% of the time she goes through. She seems really hungry whenever she wakes so I am loathe to refuse her the breast but I can see no pattern to her waking so cannot understand why her nights vary so much. How did you all get yours to sleep so well?
My big news is that I am getting married on May 5. I know you are all thinking WHAT??? as I have referred to by DH since I found this site but he is actually just by DP and I only realised what DH stood for after I had been referring to him as such for months. He proposed with a gorgeous big diamond just before Anna was born and now we have finally had time to start planning. We are going to have a church service and reception in the village I grew up in in Devon. I am sooo excited but also quite stressed about losing weight. I am still 10lbs over by pre-pregnancy weight and about 16lbs over my ideal weight. I cannot diet properly becuase I am breast feeding but I am trying to exercise loads and I have lost 3lbs in the last 3 weeks.
Better go as this is turning into a MAMMOTH post. Sorry!
Chloe

Awwwww Chloe - congratulations on your wonderful news! You will have to keep us posted on all the wedding plans. I wouldnt worry I lost quite a lot of weight before we got married just down to nerves and running around like a looney! On the sleeping front Daniel usually goes down at about 9pm and it usually asleep until about 6.30am. He has over the last couple of days, been up at around 5.30 but I think thats just because he is getting his appetitie back after being ill. He has never really been up more than twice through night even when he was quite young so I guess he is just a lazy baby! - prob takes after me!! Lynn - I have had a similar problem with Daniel not actually liking being on his tummy. He will last a couple of minutes at the most. Although he is a bit younger than Abbie I I hoping he will start to get more used to it because I know tummy time should be encourgaed. He much prefers being on his legs having you support him. I am not sure this is good for him at this age but I cant really stop him. He is always pushing out with his legs when you have him sitting on your knee he still manages to end up on them - little monkey! Anyhoo, best dash, my Grandad it quite ill at the mo and we are just waiting to hear from hospital about himn going in to have his blood cleaned? {?} which we are hoping will make him better. Take care everyone else PJ Girl x

Chloe, congratulations, what lovely news. Ben doesn't sleep through yet. He goes to sleep on his own at about 8.30 and wakes around 4am for a feed then gets up at about 7.30. Its not too bad though I'm only usually up with him for 20 mins or so in the night. PJ Girl, I'm sorry to hear about your granddad, hope the procedure today helps him. Lynn, I don't think you should worry about Abbie not trying to roll over, all babies are different and do things at their own pace. Ben can nearly roll over and he's fine on his tummy etc but although he can support his head he's only just able to do it in his bumbo and most of the other babies on here have been doing that since 12 weeks. And if I let Ben sit on his own he'd fall straight away so I think she's doing just great. Well Ben had butternut squash on its own last night and loved it, next week I'll make up some carrot and swede. He has 2 meals, at lunch he has pure rice, only a teaspoon of powder made up with formula, and for dinner the squash is only an ice cube's worth so hopefully I'm not giving him too much. I've bought some organix apple and raspberry rice cereal (dairy, sugar and gluten free) I'll give him once he's tried a few more vegetables. Going to brave the shops and start some xmas shopping this afternoon so better go get Ben's lunch ready. Bye x

Hi everyone, Welcome Joanne. Chloe - huge congrats! Looks like we have got 2 babies that don't sleep. My last son was exactly the same! Lynn - Charlie does not make any attempt to roll either! He did see to want to at one point but can't be bothered now. Everyone else - hello! Kate - How are you finding your quinny buzz? I am having a few probs. If I out any weight on it ie; heavy changing bag or just push down hard to get up a tricky curb, it clicks and one side starts to fold down. I am going to have to email shop I think. Also aren't they wide? Struggle getting through aisles in shops sometimes. Charlie is just starting to get the hang of solids. He was doing quite well with sitting but he hasn't made any progress for a while. I certainly could not let go of him and if I supported his back, he would probably fall forwards! Back at work on Monday so just been on the busy bee voucher helpline to register. I will save about £75 per month with these vouchers so well worth doing if your childcare provider accepts them. Speak soon Chele

Morning all!
Well, it was Abbies christening yesterday and it went well apart from her screaming (and I mean a real screaming fit!) through the WHOLE service! gutting! nothing I did would stop her crying, think she was fed up with being held, but short of lying her on the stone floor of the church there was nothing I could do! Then becuase she had screamed so much she wore herself out and slept through the party we had for her afterwards! Bless! All in all it was a good day though even if she didnt appreciate it all! I'll post some pics in a mo.
Chloe - massive CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement, thats great news. Will Anna be a bridesmaid/flower girl? She will look adorable!
PJ Girl - I hope your grandad is ok, and the procedure goes well for him.
Chele - what are the busy bee vouchers? I havent heard of them before? Hope your first day back is going ok
Kate - I have those trays but havent used them yet. The lids seem to fit on at the mo, but cant tell for def if they would once they are full, Can you take them back and exchange them, you may just have a faulty one
Sharon - Glad to hear Leland is doing so well, and I'm very jealous you are all ready for christmas, I still have a lot of pressies to buy, I best get cracking!
Hi to everyone else, hope you are all doing well.
Love Lynn & Abbie xx

Hi ladies, a little bit of exciting news from the Wakefield camp, well exciting for me and DH! When we were expecting Ben we found a support website for families affected by exomphalos which is what Ben had, and another similar condition. We took great comfort and support from this website and were now very proud to have Ben's story on there. To read Ben's story go to www.geeps.co.uk (you'll see Ben's happy face on the homepage!), then click on 'experiences' and scroll down to the bottom of the page, click on Ben's photo to read his story. Hi folks, First day back at work went ok. Shed a few tears but Charlie was fine and his face lit up when I went to pick him up. kate - I am having same problem with the lids on the trays - mine don't fit either! Thought it was just me being thick! Going to look at ben's story now. Lynn - the busy bees vouchers are a way of paying less tax on your wage - well worth it if your employers accept them. Here is the link: www.busybeesvouchers.comMy new reception class are a nightmare! The lady who covered for me obviously did not disclipline them at all, so I spent most of the day shouting! Back soon Chele

Hi Girls!! God haven't been on here for ages!! sorry..... Chloe, Massive Congratulations!!!!!! you must be so excited! Where abouts in Devon you gonna be?? i'm right next to the Devon/Dorset border! Don't go stressing about your weight, it's hard when you can't diet properly with the breast feeding. One thing i have started doing for exercise is aqua fit and it's great fun. Joanne, welcome!!! I have two boys 4 and 6yrs and my beautiful little girl, Fleur 16weeks. Kate, sounds like ben is doing great! I've read your story via the link you posted and i sat and cried reading it, you are such strong people and so pleased ben is doing so well. Chele, glad your first day back at work wasn't too bad, i'm sure it'll get easier. hi to everyone else.. hope all are doing well. Well all fine here, Fleur is great, still 100% breastfeeding and not intending on weaning untill 5-6 months old, she seems more than happy with what she gets from me at the mo. She was weighed last week and was a healthy 16lb 8ozs, so doing well. I have bought her a bumbo seat now too and she loves it! She's started to try and roll over, but doesn't really get very far! She also hates being on her tummy, so i don't bother too much. Her sleep pattern isn't too bad, waking once in the night about 4-5amish, but i just put her next to me in bed and go back to sleep and leave her to feed! The house move seems to be going now, def not gonna be moving before xmas, but probably soon after, i can't wait! Anyway will try and post a bit more often, sorry for the long post! Hi to everyone!!! bubbly and fleur x x x x
