Hi All, Silky- hun i am having to breast and bottle feed though i think a full switch is coming i had an indepth conversation with Midwife & Health visitor and they both said the same that you usually find babies with small birth weights are hungry babies a bit like playing catch up and that many women do struggle to produce the amount there baby needs as no two babies are the same. she also said to eat plent including light snack meals in between your mains that are high in protein and to express in between a couple of feeds as this is telling your body to make more, she said if this fails and your milk supply is not increasing enough then you may choose to top up with formular or introduce some bottle feeding though inevetably eventually baby will end up on formula hope this helps hun. P.s Ref ticker thingy try using the url code and not the http hun that should fix it Karen- Has Katie been investigated for reflux hun, my 2nd & 3rd babies both had reflux and were given asubstance called thixo D to add to formular which makes it thicker helping to stay down, just asugestion but maybe worth discussing it with doctor as you mayfind that as her amounts increase the more sick she will be and her weigth will not be as good. Chele- Charlie sounds to be coming on a treat hun and well done you with the feeding, go girl. Leland is doing well though he has now started having more formular then breast as he is so mutch more settle i generally give him a feed at 21.30pm/10pm and he goes till 04.30/05.00 am which i can live with when breast feeding through day he is very crazy feeding 10mins here 20min s there which drives me nuts but if i give him a formular feed he will goe 3hrs and takes around 3/4oz so i def think he prefers bottle but i will plod on alittle longer doing both i think as i enjoy the bonding sessions. anyhoos must nash and crack on with ironing will catch up later sorry for long winded post love to you all

Hi there, Your comments are so welcome! I was starting to feel like I was failing Joe, but I'd rather see him satisfied and not hungry! Sharon, I know what you mean about the breast thing, on for 10/20 mins sometimes over an hour! He is not quite big enough yet for a sling, but look forward to being able to use both hands again! Sounds like everyone is doing okay..it took us a couple of weeks to settle down.... think I have got the ticker to work now..yipeee
love silky xxxxxxxxxx

Hi everyone. Emma, i have just read yr post again. how did you cope with baby no4 when you alredy had 3 little ones? wow, i can't imagine it? Today we got Amelia's birth certificate! went shopping got some new jeans, gone up only 1 size from before I was preg so quite good. My pram is the bugaboo in sand colour, I was convinced we were having a boy and I was gonna get the blue hood & apron, now we have a girl I bought the pink set. DH has upset me by saying it don't go with the beige and it looks silly, i can't change the base for the black now as I have used it, but I really wanted the pink as I am so proud of my little girl. It's amzaing how quick they grow?? Amelia has out grown most of her newborn clothes and now fits in 0 to 3 size. she was 52cm when born which is longer than average. i am still breastfeeding, i have told work i will take baby girl to see them tomorrow, we they invited me to go out for lunch, but i feel a bit shy to breast feed there, so i might try to express some milk first or maybe I wont stop there for long.

Hi girls, Don't seem to have much time to post these days. Charlie is great and I love him 2 bits! he is still waking every 1 and a half to 2hrs in the night which is very tiring! He is good as gold during the day though and is even smiling. I am still managing to breastfeed but as Charlie will only be 18wks when I go back to work, I am going to have to think about putting him on formula at some point. I am now 10lbs heavier than when I got pregnant but I am happy with that for now cos I can't even think about dieting at the moment. How is everyone else doing? I have got a really flabby tummy! Bye for now Oh by the way lovely to hear from everyone - glad you all found the thread. Chele

hi everyone weds went out shopping and Amelia was sleeping in the pram all day, then that night she was awake all night feeding, yesterday I took her to see my friends at work, she was awake all day, and she slept good that night. It's amazing how much better you feel when you get some sleep! even though i was only at work for about 2 hrs I had to feed her and change her twice! Carla, i would have given up breastfeeding if I had bleeding nipples, I hope you feel happier now, after all it is better for him to have a happy mummy. and most people i know do bottle feeding. Chele I am about 10lbs more than when I got preg too, but I was quite skinny when I got preg and I think I look ok now, DH reckons I look better now than before. In fact he keeps making jokes about how much he fancys me. Even though the stiches have healed I feel a bit worried about doing it in case I get pregnant agian. I am still a tiny bit bleeding anyway. it seems funny to not be reading all the pregnancy stories. i feel like it was ages ago that i was preg! love to all babies. cristina & amelia

Hi!! Thought i'd venture over to the parenting boards, weird after talking about our bumps for so long and now they are here! Things are going great here, fleur is doing great. I'm still feeding, feel very sore! but she has been eating so much, my milk is coming in now so hoping i'll be filling her up more! Midwife is coming round this afternoon to do the heel prick test and also to weigh her for the first time since born, i'll be interested to see how much she weighs!? For those of you that didn't know she was born 10lbs very eye watering!! lol right must sort some lunch before next feed, but will be back later. bubbly and fleur x
