Not a problem Sarah-I wanted to add also that pumping is not an easy skill to learn just like breastfeeding-Personally i never managed to pump more than a couple of ounces-i never really had to but I know of people that can pump 8oz at a time easily. I always found I had better luck by hand than with a pump too! I would try to only use the bottle last thing at night when you really need that extra rest. And a heads up I think there is a growth spurt at 4 weeks-they always seem to pop up just as you think you have the hang of things! Try to let little Bethany feed alot during a growth spurt rather than have the expressed milk if you can so that your body can adjust to her increased need.
PS she looks such a cutie in your ticker!

Hi everyone,

It's not really a breastfeeding question but I was wondering if anyone knows where to get some nice nursing bras? I have 2 from m&s but they aren't very attractive (plain black and white) and think my DP is sick of looking at them! I'm a 36ff too so need some big ones Eeker

I feel like I need a bit more support now too, would it be ok to wear underwired bras now?

Hope you are all well, especially baby usa, lauramc, jilli and sarahw (and anyone else i've forgotten Smiler) You have all given me some fab advice about breastfeeding and i'm really grateful x

hi rusty,

just to say mine are from figleaves, they are online, they deliver really fast, cheap postage and the bras have been good.
not sure how you would get on size wise as i only have boobs when i am feeding and even they are small!

This is a quick reply-I will do a full one when I get back from work (it's 5.30am here!)
Hang in there-what symptoms do you have of your milk drying up? Are you on any meds?

For now let your LO feed as often as possible-if you can do nothing else, rest, eat and drink plenty (oatmeal/porridge is great)it could just be a growth spurt-at this time do not offer anything else such as a dummy or water so you can build your supply back up.

Good luck-I'll be back later

Hi Sophie

Sorry to hear you are having problems. The Kelly Mom website is great for BF advice. Here is the link regarding low milk supply.
http://www.kellymom.com/bf/supply/low-supply.html#supply

Baby USA is great for advice too! As she says you need to rest and look after yourself (I know it's hard!). Are you drinking enough? Is your baby latching on and nursing effectively? Have you got any support in your area? Like a group you could go to for advice? Your HV might know.

Good luck and don't give up!!!

Laura Mc xx

Hi Sophie
Hopefully you have had chance to look at the link LauraMc gave you-I noticed from one of your other posts that you have had to use some formula. How long have you had to do that for? I would highly reccomend contacting a trained breastfeeding counselor if you can-or ask your HV to reccomend a group in your area La Leche league are also good if there is a group near you-I feel that actually talking the problems that you are having over with someone in person would be very helpful-it is hard for me to say why your milk has dried up as this only happens in about 2% of women i believe, however if you began supplementing early this could be a cause. Getting baby back to the breast is possible with hard work and determination. Good Luck
