Happy Due Date Karly The c-s did make things harder to start with but a silver lining was having to have another pair of hands around meant i had help with looking after the boys for the first 6 weeks. Tom mostly ignores henry tbh, or else insists on giving him his blanket/teddy/socks/etc. the 'giving' mostly involves shoving it on his head, lol. He also 'volunteers' henry for nappy changes first too He naps really well atm, after a wobble when he refused for a bit. about 2hrs after lunch most days thank goodness, and sometimes henry even sleeps at the same time so i get a break! the buggy i got is fine but heavy so i confess i gave in and bought a p&t off ebay! it only arrived on sat so i still haven't figured out things - like how to close it! - but dh loves it too as it's so easy to push. his favourite set of wheels so far so i don't feel guilty about the added expense. wishing you lots of happy fast painfree labour dust! will watch out for arrival on the pg thread....kt

hi mummies so sorry not been on in a while - just been so busy with work. congrats katy on Henry!! apologies again for the delay in the congrats - it sounds liek you're handling it really well with the 2 boys! well done. I'm hoping for a home birth too and my babe was breech a few weeks ago but was the right way round at my last check up. got my next check up next week - and we can discuss everthing to do with the homebirth. i think my midwife is just coming round so she can have a cup of tea, sandwich and a natter. doing my bp will be an interruption! so hopefully the babe is still head down and bp will be ok. oh karly - how exciting!! i didn't realise how near to term u were - hope u are feeling okay. Had any twinges? Any guesses as to what u think u might be having. I'm thinking for me another girl - which would be really nice coz they'll be close in age, but a lot more people think i'm having a boy this time. i love the guessing all part of the fun. Tonnes of painfree labour dust on its way to you ''''------xxxxx-------'''''' Loocy - bless ur little princess trying to guess where the baby is! i bet in the next month she will realise. Evangeline says baba as soon as she sees my belly now and gives it kisses too. the dolly she got for xmas is being cuddled to bits as opposed to being sat on and chukced on the floor (which is what happened when she first had her!). so hopefully it is starting to make sense. when we go to a mums and tots session - if she sees a baby she stands and stares at the baby and points at them. can be quite embarrassing if the mum is breastfeeding at the time!! i still expect her to regress a little once the new babe is here. we all need tlc so i hope i get enough time to spend with her before the new baby arrives. we have nearly finished Evangeline's new room. we are putting her in the second bedroom (at some point), we were given a gorgeous toddler bed and have bought some other furniture to match. coz Evie likes swimming ad the fish in the aqauarium we have painted an underwater sea colour on her walls and bought some under the sea stickers to go up there too. It looks great in there now. She stands on the bed to kiss the fish - oh i could eat her when she does that - so cute. I wanted to get the room finished before new baby arrived so it wasn't a shock to her. plus i don't know that we'll have a spare minute to do anything once the new babe is here too. i've been away with work this week which is prob why i'm warbling on about how wonderful Evangeline is. Once she starts playing me up tomorrow - I'll be back to normal! I finish up work next week and can't wait now. 5 more days to go and then i can put my very swollen fat ankles up! Right i'll shut up now - so nice to see how you are all coping. Karly - keep us posted hun we are counting on u ;-) Love lozzie x

Thanks for the bump up katy - I cant' believe Henry is almost 5 months old!!! Where did that time go?? And how are you finding it all? Easier than you thought????! I must admit that I've not been posting on here much as myself and everyone else seemed too busy!!! Lozzie has definitely had her baby, but I don't know what, how or where as I don't think she posts on these boards any more - her lot all decamped to their own MSN site when we had all the problems here recently. As for me, due Saturday and am just soooo fed up now with this whole pregnancy malarky. never again!!!! Munchkin has so much energy and I've really struggled to keep up recently but it's just been so lovely to be at home since stopping working and spend some time with her - I just try to knacker her out every day so she has a nap during the day and sleeps well at night!! Hope every thing else is going well for all the other mummies with young uns! Loocy [

Loocy (and other girls!) Just been reading through this thread with great interest! As you know full well hun we've only just had Wyatt but the MW and HV keep going on about family planing and DP and I are really dubious about going back on contraception - we had similar nightmare to some of the others on here in that Wyatt took 16 months after two losses to conceive and so we are reluctant to have to wait that long for no 3....also as I had hyperemesis so badly with Wyatt and had couple of hospital stays I have to consider that this will be the case again with no 3. In this instance we are thinking maybe we should consider a small age gap like you guys on here so that if I am really sick at least I don't have to panic about playschool runs on top of school runs etc. I know I will cope once the baby arrives as when I was childminding I nearly always had 2 or 3 babies very close together in age and so logistically and practically we are pretty well geared up for it - even have an ace double buggy! Plus two travel cots, slings, bottles etc its just the being pregnant bit I am terrified about. What I am wondering I guess is if we did decide not to go onto contraception and leave it to "fate" will I cope with a young baby and hyperemesis? Anyone one here really sick in their first trimester? how did you cope? Can you breastfeed if you are in the early trimester - will it affect the development of the embryo? We're using the good old Catholic method of "natural" family planning at the moment which is pretty effective in most cases so in theory we don't need to worry about getting pregnant too soon but sooner or later it will happen I hope and I suppose I want to be prepared for if and when it does. I'm just terrified of having hyperemisis with a 2 or 3 year old running around as well as DS1 who is currently 5 and would be 7 or 8 by then.... Thanks for letting me "crash in" and ask stupid questions! Looking forward to hearing the responses! And loocy - with luck hun you'll be telling me from first hand experience in a couple of days what its like after birth!!!

ever - happy to answer any questions!!! Firstly, as for bf and being pregnant, I got pregnant as soon as I stopped bf (oops!!!) as it can be a pretty effective contraceptive so you might find that while you're bf especially in the first few months you won't get pregnant anyway. I've just replied to you on our thread about mixing breast and bottle so if you do that, then it might be that you start ovulating again earlier than if you were bf exclusively. My friend got pg while she was still bf and she said it messed with her supply for a bit and it took quite a lot out of her, early pregnancy and bf, but that's not surprising given the toll both take on your body!!! I didn't have any sickness at all with this pregnancy but i was completley exhausted all the time - the first 12 weeks were horrendous compared to first time round. But, I had also just gone back to work and my boss was a cow so the stress of all that wasn't helping. Looking back, though, like you say, you cope with everything that life throws at you, so if you have them close together and you're really ill, you'll still cope and I'm sure your DH (as he will be by then!!!) will cope too!!! To be honest, I'm just impressed that you're back on the horse, so to speak, already!!!! Loocy xxx [

well not quite on the horse yet - although the lochia stopped within days I have still told DP that we ought to wait til the 6 week deadline that the MW/HV give you anyway as I wouldn't want to risk getting an infection or anything with my fertility record! he is champing at the bit tho so I know that the minute Wyatt is 6 weeks to the minute DP will be nagging the hell out of me! Thanks for the advice chick - I am so glad i had this morning to get back on here - it makes all the difference doesn't it having someone to bounce ideas off and as my closest friend is still desperately trying to get pregnant after over a year of trying i dont want to discuss too much with her in case it pisses her off I'm already trying for no 3 and she's still trying to get BFP with no 2. Can't wait for you to come on with your labour story - it'll be so exciting to see how you get on! xxx

I probably should explain what I meant by the good old Catholic method - ie do everything except the final "penetration" so to speak! Once we do get down to it DP will have to whip it out at the crucial moment - and that aint easy for them poor guys so it can be hit and miss!!! Just being realistic - after not getting much toward the end of pregnancy and now having to wait 6 weeks - he aint going to find that bit easy at all!!!!! Sorry for that fabulous mental image there!!!
