OMG katie how exciting that it could be any day now.. and fab that you get the homebirth you were hankering for.. hope all goes to plan for you. ***pain free labour dust coming your way** i'm interested to hear how tom will react to the new baby, does he have any idea what's happening and that soon he'll have a little brother or sister? ollie doesn't really seem to get it that much. now the nurserys painted and the moses basket is up i keep taking him in there and he realises it's for baby, hid daddy keeps telling him there's one in my tummy but he doesn't really understand. on the whole he's really gentle with babies (he has a neice thats 4 months) but i dont know how he'll react once he realises his sibling is here to stay! loocy - tis poo being sober over christmas isn't it. i was sober 2005 and this xmas too, in 2006 i was trollied, making up for the year before. this year all i seemed to do was drive people everywhere! did have a cheeky glass of baileys at NY tho. ru going to find out the sex of your baby at your next scan> still haven't bought anything for the new baby but i have sorted through ds's old newborn clothes to wash so at least that's a start - must get organised! happy new year all, hope all toddlers/bumps are progressing well. love Karly x x

no, no news yet! yes - tom does seem to know about the baby now. we have looked at lots of books and pictures of pg women and new babies in the family. he def knows i have a baby in my tummy & that the pool is for mummy when the baby comes out! think he thinks it will come out my belly button tho he keeps poking it and looking in as if he could see it in there! we are all ready here, have some friends round for dinner tonight, and lunch tomorrow, but after that baby can come... anyway, just wanted to pop on and say it hasn't happened yet, will be back as soon as it happens & i can get on the net. hope everyone's pg are going well and toddlers/babies are behaving too. kt

hi katy been looking out for your news on the jan thread. i'm sorry to hear you didn't get the birth you planned, i can understand it being hard to come to terms with especially since you were so looking forward to a home birth. i was actually told my ds was breech at 39 wks by my MW. She put the fear of god into me told me to get to the hospital for a scan and that i might have to have a c-section that day i was bricking it. luckily she got it wrong as he wasnt breech at all but apparently it's a very common mistake. i guess it's not v practical for you having to look after tom too i hope you make a speedy recovery. big congrats by the way Henry is a gorgeous name x x

kalyjade - thanks for that, it is a common mistake according to the midwives. glad yours was wrong. loocy - thanks well life with 2 is ok, so far, course dh still at home got my inlaws next week to help, then dh has another week at home - tho working from home so not hands on as much (well, we'll see ). then i still have 2 weeks of not driving or picking tom up so thinking of getting my mum here, tho she isn't as helpful as my mil which is tricky.... my parents also coming tomorrow for a few days, have to invite them but hate having house guests really, god that makes me sound antisocial, but i like not having to get dressed to go to the loo in the night, or make an effort to chat when i want to veg out!! ah well, best try to get some rest before ds comes back from nursery... hope all pgs are going well

Hi Kitkat, thanks for reassuring us, not, lol Loocy, saw a post of yours somewhere else mentioning chinup - anyway she has had a baby girl Amelia Rose - also a breech but she delivered her naturally no probs So, how's it with 2? well, the first few weeks are just sleep-deprived but straightforward, now things are getting trickier i would say. Henry is awake more often and for longer and needs holding/talking to/entertaining but can't really 'play' with anything or entertain himself for very long. You forget how long your arms are full for! He is sleeping pretty well tho, has slept through once, otherwise is on one feed a night, so i can cope with that. (the cat waking me up with a dead mouse (nice) & the monitor deciding to pick up interference and buzz for no reason, on the other hand i don't want to cope with ) How is everyone else doing? Anyone had their second yet? must be nearly due for some of you by now. hope to speak soon, kt

hi katy glad to hear you're doing so well with your two boys, gives me hope especially since you had a c-section must have made it so much harder.. how has tom reacted to suddenly having a baby brother has it effected him at all or is he just getting on with it as normal? does he still have naps too so you get chance to have a little break every now and again? oh and how are you getting on with the double buggy? i went for the phil and teds in the end, can't wait to get it out well as you can see i'm actually due today, tho no signs yet! getting a bit nervous now, dunno if i'm more worried about leaving DS or the actual labour bit! hope the sleepless nights are over for you soon. and that everyone else is well? love karly x x
