hey how is everyone getting on??it's a bit quiet on here. I've had a horrendous tummy bug the last few days and had to keep munchkin home from nursery yesterday as she's not been that well, but it was such hard work looking after her when I was feeling so rough. Given me a bit of a taster of what the first few weeks with teeny baby are going to be like!!!! AAAARRRGH love Loocy xxx [

Hi loocy, Congratulations on your pregnancy news! just noticed this thread! Don't have much time to go on here any more having two babies close together in age. I had Joseph on 22 July last year and had Aidan on 27 July this year, so 1 year + 5 days gap! It was a bit of a shocker discovering last december that I was pg again. Pregnancy was quite hard towards the end, especially carrying joseph around and up to bed (we have millions of stairs) Its great fun now, Joseph nearly 17 mths and Aidan nearly 5 mths. Joseph loves his little bro, but can be a bit sort of over keen if you know what I mean, like kisses him then it turns into lying on him etc but its cool. At first the baby crying in the night used to wake joseph, but that has settled down now and little one only wakes once, and older one sleeps 12 hours or so.... We use the maclaren twin techno double buggy, which I find excellent, but do plan in the new year to get Jospeh walking more. good luck with everything... silky xxxxxx

Silky - wow you do have your work cut out for you but it's great news that you are loving the age gap now!!! I don't know about anyone else on this thread but it's still not really sinking in with me yet, even though we've had the scan and are telling people. It's like I'm talking, but I'm not taking it in myself. Anybody else feel that way!? And lozzie can't believe you're 18 weeks already.. where has that time gone?! Loocy xx [

Thank you Loocy for telling me about this group. This exactly what I needed. My son is 8 months old and I just found out I was pregnant again. I don't know how far along I am. I didn't get a period. I am still breastfeeding my son. So it was a surprise to find out I was pregnant. I imagine I wont know exactly how far I am until I get an ultrasound. I go to the doc next week. Hopefully they will schedule one. I am guessing I am about 7 weeks. I too was feeling kind of guilty about not being super excited. I'm not even wanting to tell my fam yet. It just isn't as exciting at the first time. I am slowly getting more excited. I'm sure I will be more when I go to the doc and can hear the heart beat. Anyone still breastfeeding? This is my first time trying to use the tickers. If they didn't populate I need help figuring it out.

Hi girls I hope you dont mind me joining you, it was really interesting reading your thread, and i am definately not so worried now, so thanks for that. I am from the pregnancy march /april 2007 thread and now the parenting march / april 2007 thread. I found out last week i am pregnant again, my son is 8 months old, so he will only be 16 months old when this new baby arrives. My doctor advised me to come off the pill early as i took clomid to fall for callum, so i came off pill on 4th November and found out i was pg on 6th December, i am still in complete shock, so is dh. thanks again for putting my mind at rest. xx

loocy strangely enough it just doesn't seem to have sunk in for me either! it's so bizaar i accept i'm pregnant, have quite a big bump now2 but for some reason my mind just doesn't register that i'll be having another baby in just a few months!i haven't even bought one thing yet. i dont know whats got into me guess my minds on other things especially with DS1 to run around after. it's almost like i'm in denial or something! doesn't make sense this baby was planned and is very much wanted i just cant seem to get my head around it! Weird! glad i'm not the only one feeling like this. silky - ahh your boys sound soo cute! it's great to hear how good your little boy was with the new baby. one of my worries is how ollie will react 2 the new baby too what you've said really helps put my mind at rest. although i guess it will b hard at first i bet the small age gap will be great when they're older. joanne congrats on your BFP have you got over the shock yet? i just wanted to reassure you that 16 months is such a great age, you wont believe how different callum will be by then, walking, talking and much more independant. good luck to you all love Karly x x

Thanks Karlyjade I think me and dhe are still tryinig to pick oursleves up off the floor!! This baby is very much wanted but it took me 2 years and fertilty treatment to fall for callum, so for me to come off the pill and fall straight away, its fantastic!! I looked at the buggy that summer recommended, it looks great but i cant find no stockists in my area, as i would really like to see one. ANyway hope all bumps, babies and you are fine. xx

JoB, don't know if you caught up with my story, but I was on clomid to conceive Eilidh, my DD, so we didn't even plan a second one - I stopped breastfeeding assuming that there wasn't any point using contraception and then, well there you go. I think the word shock was an under-statement!!!!! So Liz, if I was still breastfeeding, I probably wouldn't be here!!!! It's so good to hear you are thinking of tandem feeding - amazing really!!!! I struggled with breastfeeding after about 6 months or so, and I was going back to work anyway so was quite glad I guess to give it up. This sounds bizarre, but not sure how I feel about breastfeeding again - I'm sure nearer the time I'll feel fine about it And good luck at the docs - hope you get an early scan so you can get a good idea of a date! Glad that there are a few of us to support each other - there are moments now when I get really excited at the thought of having another and then times I just panic!!! Loocy xx [

I went to the doctor this morning and had an ultrasound done. I am 7 weeks and 3 days. I was only a few days off from what I thought. I am so excited now. I believe that I am pregnant now. I just couldn't believe it before. I plan to breastfeed my son for another 4-5 months and then try weaning. The more I think about it, I don't want to breatfeed both. That would be really demanding. Loocy, I understand about not sure if you want to breastfeed the other one. For me I just want to be done. It is physically demanding. I am so wiped out right now from trying to sustain my son and unborn child. I can't keep up. I love reading everyone's comments. Helps me to stay motivated and know I am not alone.

Hi girls and welcome newbies. Congratulations on your pregnancies. If you have read through the thread then you know that I have had my second baby now with a 16 month age gap. Looocy, I too was breastfeeding when I got pregnant with George. I worked out the other day that I have been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for 2 1/2 years now, my last period was June 2005 before I fell pregnant with my daughter ! Katy, I see your location is Essex, where abouts do you live ? Any questions or silly niggles (believe me I had them all) just ask xx

Happy New year everyone - hope you all had a good (if sober!!) time!! Two sober new years in a row.... I'm definitely NOT going to pregnant next new year I can tell you that much.. I can't wait to get a decent glass of wine down my throat. I had a couple of small glasses over christmas and new year but you always feel so darn guilty it's not really worth it!!!! Hope everyone is doing ok. Katy how are you doing? Any signs of movement yet??? OMG the thought of the baby being early just freaks me out! Hope that all is still well with you Katy and eveyrone else. Julie - I'm kind of Essex too... well, Upminster which technically isn't Essex, but near enough! Liz pleased to hear you have a proper date and have had a scan, so can relax a bit now. we had a few sleepless nights with DD over christmas, I think because her routine was a bit disrupted with flying up to Scotland and having so many rellies keep picking her up... it's made me panic a bit about having 2 as I don't cope very well without my sleep!! Thank goodness she's settled back down now we're at home! Take care everyone love Loocy xxx [
