Congratulations Ali
Will email you properly soon. My news is I got a new job-teaching Computer ed and being the school tech!!!! I am snowed under at the mo as schools start back here on Monday-I started last Thursday. It is a great opportunity and should be much more stable for us as a family financially (eventually).

Liberty has started to gain weight since they have started giving her Zantac twice a day so we are assuming her issues have been down to silent reflux.....anyone know anything about this????

Anyway, I'm still around and trying to keep up a bit-off to work now though. Hope to hear from some of you soon xxxx

Oh and a PS we are still BF but she is naturally starting to wean eventually, down to bedtime and maybe once in the night Smiler

Hi glad your little ones putting on weight, my alicia has acid reflux but its calmed down an awful lot, just the odd bouts now and again.

and congrats on your new job Big Grin

sorry im normally on the weightloss site but i lurk every so often.

anyway if ive got my info right acid reflux is where they projectile vomit and they fidget and cry when they feed, etc...as in silent reflux is where they basically just sit there and some sick just flows out (sorry havent read all the way back but was wondering if your little one had been being sick.)and one of the major symptoms is weightloss.

best advice i could give is check all the solid foods you give her for acids, etc ive found citrusy things and even stewed rhubarb sets alicias reflux off because of the acidity levels in it.

the babywhisperer site has some good info on reflux and I think theres another site called crying over spilt milk.

www.cryingoverspiltmilk.co.nz/WhatisGastricReflux.htm

hope ive helped hun Confused Smiler

Ems x

Hi girls

Thanks Baby and Joanne for the congrats!!

Baby - I have bumped up your b/f thread for some of the ladies who have just had their babies. Pobbins sounds like she has been having a terrible time - little Scarlett is lactose intolerant but it has only just been diagnosed and she has been giving her formula top-ups which of course contain lactose!! All the stress has taken it's toll on her supply and the vicious circle begins. Anyway - I've told her about the thread so hopefully she will get sorted.

I can't believe that our babies SECOND birthdays start on Monday with Joel!! Where on earth has that gone??

Anyway - love to you all and speak soon (hopefully!)

Ps from earlier....

Hi again Baby - yes, congrats on the new job - I bet it beats working in the restaurants and at least you are doing what you're trained for!! Also, good news about Liberty - I've never heard of silent reflux so can be of no help whatsoever but I hope you get some answers soon.

Hi All
Silent reflux is where the stomach acid is coming back up but there is never any throwing up because it is swallowed back down-it is thought to be more damaging because the acid makes 2 trips up and then down again.

Great to see our thread isn't dead completely although alot of you seem to be moving on to your next ones!!!

Speaking of which I heard another of our members is expecting Wink and no it isn't me!!!!

Happy belated birthday to Joel Joanne! Hope he had a fab day.
Congratulations Ali!!
And congrats on the new job Baby... and for the fact that Liberty is finally gaining weight. What a relief for you. When does she next see a doc?
All ok here. Had millions of appts recently. Tom's op went ok in June. Hes got another 3 in the pipeline. Will find out when the investigatory op to hunt for his missing left testicle will be when we see the consultant in Sept. Hes going through a really bad eating phase at the mo and is about 17lbs to Jake's 25lbs.
Sorry all so stilted... this site runs reeeaally slowly and my typing comes up seconds after I've done it. Is it just me???
Love to all xxxxxx
