Hi Baby Is it Periactin that shes been given? Does she seem to have a small appetite? Will be interesting to see if it works. I asked the endo we saw about it and it seems they don't really use it over here... but its used a lot in the States for RSS and IUGR children with great sucess it seems. I can't remember if you've said recently... how tall is Liberty now? Been thinking of you lots... really hoping its not something serious. All the waiting around for appointments drives you crazy doesn't it. Let us know when you get that gastro one. Lots of love xxxxxxxxx

Oh yes.. its the same thing. One is the brand name. Great you've got an appt soonish. Tom's got a hearing assessment on the 4th June and we'll find out if hes going to need gromits Ummm.. not sure how tall Tom is either. About 71cm I think and Jake is about 80. We'll find out properly when we see the growth specialist next. I know Liberty's weight is obviously a great concern, but if shes the right sort of height for her age thats something very positive. If shes got a tiny appetite but is a normal active toddler then shes going to be rather slim. I hope the gastro will be able to give you some answers quickly. Take care medear xxxxxxxx

Oh Baby, its so frustrating and must be so worrying for you. How did the appt go yesterday?? Ours was ok... although Tom's ears are still full of fluid, apparently his hearing is not too bad and they won't even consider gromits unless they're still fluid filled in 6 months and his speech is still way behind. She didn't seem to think had affected his speech so far but I do..... all he says is waa waa, mummummum and yehyehyeh. Jake continuously chats away in whole sentences with different sounding 'words' and copies words that we say and has a small vocabulary of words he can say quite well. How are things with your 2 little ones Joanne?? Hope everyone else is ok... Zoe, Ali, Erica, Jo (rooster), Marie, Sheryl xxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx

Well the appointment went ok-they are still looking at liver and bones because of her raised alkaline phosphatase. They redid bloods for liver function and celiac disease and have referred her to a dieticion for a calorie assesment. They want her to drink 32 oz of pediasure (milkshake type drink with extra cals for kids) a day as well as 3 meals and to add something called duocal to anything and everything she eats to up the calorie content, they also agreed that I should carry on breastfeeding on top. She weighed in at 19lb 14oz and 31.5 inches. Sorry you didn't get the result you wanted with Tom-If he says mumum etc he isn;t too bad at the moment. Liberty didn't say much until 18months to be honest but now we can't shut her up-her favorite word being burger (except it doesn't quite sound like that!!! Perhaps it is just that Jake is doing very well at his speech so it makes Tom seem further behind? Anyway-must dash-off to work. 5.30am and it is 25 degrees here already!!!!YAY

How long will the blood results take Baby? Have you got the Pediasure yet?... does she like it? Tom has really cut down his milk intake and I'm sure his weight is stalling again. He probably has about 350mls of his high cal milk (Infatrini) a day now. Haven't weighed him for a little while so will be interesting to see when hes weighed at the hosp tomorrow. Hes got his hypospaias op. Not looking forward to it at all Let us know when the results are through Baby xxxxxxxx
