Jo
You can push for supervised contact at a contact center if you are not comfortable with it in your own home-give him enough rope and he will hang himself!!

Baby I actually said as i have no contact details for him he was welcome to visit here & if need be i would leave a friend here, but if i was here i would cook for him whilst he played with joel so he could then eat with Joel bath him then put him to bed, I spoke to my solicitor yesterday & she was very surprised when I told her he did not turn up for his sons physio appt as she had received confirmation that he would be attending with his mother!!!! So I gave the diagnosis & asked her to write to his solicitor with it, also joel has the neuro virus atm so i am absolutely shattered. I am not worried about being taken to court but given the fact Joel has'nt seen his dad since the end of sept i doubt they will force me to just hand him over to his dad....

Solicitor doubts it will get to court i have offered to go to mediation so we'll see!!!!

I hope everyone else is doing fine

Speak soon

Don't count on them not making you hand him over Jo as unfortunately the law gives the father the right to see the child no matter what they have done-even if they were in prison for child abuse they would still get visitation all beit supervised! Just wanted you to be aware-my 2 sons have only seen their dad once or twice in the last 4 years but I still have to allow him to see them-I am allowed to set the terms that are in the best interests of the children though-if it gets babd email me as I am a mine of information on the subject!!!

Hope Joel starts to feel better soon-what is the virus? I haven't heard of that one?

Hi Baby
I am not saying he cant see Joel just that i want a contact number for him as if anything happens out of visiting time i can inform him with out delay!!! I think he should be apart of joels life but not as & when it pleases him. He doe'snt pay anything towards his upkeep & has gone on the sick to get legal aid, As far as i am aware he is living in coventry with a woman who has 1 son apart from this i know nothing more so i am not willing to put my son at risk by just letting him take him when he feels like it, I don't have ur email & I have lost the link for the msn site yonks ago, as it was on my old laptop...

I hope all mums & toddlers are fine!!! As for the virus baby is it something kicking about in the uk my dp daughter & himself have also had it luckily he could'nt blame my cooking or joel as i ain't seen him since sunday lol....

Speak soon

Congrats on passing your driving test Erica! Big Grin Really pleased to hear Harry is doing well too. Good luck with labour! Hope shes kind to you and its not too long now. Let us know when shes here!

How are things with you Joanne? I should go look at the preg board but am not over here v often at the mo. Can't be long for you now either?!

Hope everyone else is well. Have I mentioned I think Tom has Russell Silver Syndrome? Its a type of primordial dwarfism. Told his paed a few weeks ago and now we're waiting to see a geneticist. Strangely, even though the boys are ID it IS possible for one of them to have a syndrome like this, and not the other.
Also has his hearing assessment (I asked to be referred in Nov as I was worried about his hearing) on Monday and his eardrums are doing bugger all at the moment as there is too much fluid behind them. Audiologist is hoping this will drain and is due to all the colds hes had. Will have another appt in 4 months to check. I'm not too hopeful as I keep reading that babies with IUGR and RSS (Russell Silver) are prone to glue ear Frowner In the mean time we have to keep background noise to a minimum and make sure Tom can see us when we speak. Poor boy. Also... still not had an appt through for his hypospadias op. Should be any time. Was meant to be Dec/Jan and when I rang in jan they said it will prob be March and we'll have 3 weeks notice. Hmmm.

Anyway.. lots of love to mummies and toddlers/new babies xxxxxxx

Hi girlies!!!!

Had a text from Summer today asking me how I am and I feel awful that I don't get on here as much as I used to.

Just read through a few pages........can't believe you ahve reached youur due date Misscy!!!!
Bet you are so excited but a little scared too.

Missc...Congratulations on passing your driving test....I'm struggling to work out how the hell you managed that with a huge bump!!!!! That is amazing!!!!

Summer by dear ....like I said to you via text it was weird as I had thought about you only yesterday and then you text me today!!!
Sorry to hear about Tom.....haven't heard of that sydrome to not meaning to be ignorant but how will it effect him then?
He's such a strong little boy......I'm sure he'll be ok.

How are you coping with it all.......you must be exhausted by these endless hospital appointments and good for you for being so knowledgable........good job you are doing the Doctors jobs for them!!!

What happened about the strange rash? Were you right about it?

Jo...blimey I can't believe you are so far gone too..........is your ticker right at 30 weeks???
I like the sound of that lemon diet but doesn't it damage your stomch after a while with all that acid?
Might give it a go though!!! Big Grin
Congrats on pink too!!!!! Yah its a girly!!

Right this is going to be short and sweet...our PC is up in the bedroom now and Martin has come to bed so best stop tapping!!!

Be back tomorrow if I can to properly catch up.

Hugs to Babyusa, Peardrop,Ali, peanut..etc

Hi All

Summer hugs to the boys & bless Tom crawling I am like Zoe never heard of the condition but dwarfism means he will always be a tiny little man doe'snt it.... I hope it don't affect his life too much he has proven to be a fighter...

Erica hope all goes well with the labour, I think they are going to let me attempt a naturel birth but not too sure as they won't really discuss it until closer to my due date & yes i am 30 weeks lol and she is a little mover.

Zoe The lemon diet is'nt meant to be done for long periods of time but a gp did reccomend it for a short term solution if you only have about 2 stone to lose....

Joel is doing ok i am taking him for Pierdro boots tomorrow but have been told as his feet are so tiny they can't get insoles so they are going to try & cast them tomorrow too.... But also found out that we have both got the same condition & that Lucy might also suffer good thing is they will watch her from birth....

I hope everyone else is well & baby ur new job is going well

Speak soon

Hello Smiler
Well I'd never heard of RSS before either so its not surprising you guys haven't.
The main concern is growth. He could make it to about 5'2" which tbh I'd be happy with. I'm only 5'2" myself and my dad was only 5'4". I know its harder for boys to be small, but its not the end of the world. Even though kids with it don't lack growth hormone it is still given to try and increase growth. It makes a difference to begin with and can keep children at the size of their peers but its thought that final adult height is probably not increased much. Intelligence is normal but there can be probs with adhd and learning difficulties.
There are heaps of other little things too but I won't bore you with all of it!

Anyway... had his appt with the dietician today. Fat lot of use that was. I was expecting something miraculous that would get Tom piling the weight on Razzer She just said I'm doing what I should be and that they'll change his milk (he still has 6 bottles a day of the prescription prem formula) to something that has a few more cals in it. But that was it really. Had him weighed too and he'd only put on 1/2 an oz in 2 weeks Frowner His growth in length which had been fab 'til xmas has tailed off and hes off the bottom of the chart again for that too (still miles below it for weight). Beginning to accept this is the way things are and hes not going to 'catch up'.
Ho hum. Must go to bed. Feeling a bit odd. Have had headaches for the last week and thought to take my bp yesterday to find it was 145/101 Not good. Will give it a week and try and not get stressy about stuff and if its still the same will go to docs.

Oh yes Zoe... my GP agreed with me about the rash but the hosp weren't willing to budge on 'tonsillitis'.
Don't get me started on that, my bp will rocket even more!! I think I posted it all on the Jan thread at the time.

Right, must dash xxxxx
