Hi everyone

Been really rubbish at posting on here the last few weeks - it has just been so mad with the run up to Christmas and all. Hope you all had a good one - ours was a bit odd really. As my dd and ds were going to their dad's for Christmas itself, we had a "special" Christmas on the 22nd - everything as if it was the 25th - stockings, turkey etc etc. Had 10 round for lunch then another 4 over for pressie time, so it was chaos. The kids got a WII between them which they love. We got Darcey a dolly and gave here dd's old buggy (which I found in the loft) and she loves pushing it around. On Christmas day itself it was just me, dp and D at my mum's for lunch - very quiet. So here we are and coz we had Christmas early it feels like the middle of Jan already and I am itching to take down the decorations and get back to normal!! Only another 11 months and we'll start all over again................!!

Is anyone making any New Year's resolutions?? I seriously need to lose weight so am going to try to stay off the wine and chocs for Jan to see if I can shed any pounds. Joanne - I'm going to go back onto the lemons - I told one of my friends about it ages ago and she now swears by it, so in for a penny....

Hope everyone else is ok - Baby I owe you a message - glad to hear that Liberty is sleeping better. How did her room turn out?? Happy birthday for yest to your ds (sorry, can't for the life of me remember his name!!) and Happy Anniversary to you and Mick for today (how many years?) - have fun at SeaWorld. I have to put D's hair either into bunches or a ponytail at the moment coz she is in desperate need of a hair-cut and otherwise it is all in her eyes. I do it when she is brushing her teeth (or rather chewing her toothbrush) sitting on my knee.

Summer - hi hun - I quite understand why you pulled out of the Christmas lectures. Tom really doesn't need to be made to feel different for the rest of his life - don't blame you at all for being protective!!

Joanne - I don't think I even said congrats on a pink bump!! Lucy is a lovely name (we talked about it when we had Darcey). Hope all is going ok - not long to go now!!

Everyone else, Zoe, Erica, Peardrop - hope you are all ok and enjoying the festivities.

Lastly, wishing all of you and your families a very happy NEW YEAR and I hope that 2008 brings all of us all that we hope for!!

Lots of love
Ali

Hi Summer

Right buy fresh lemons say 7, each night around the same time squeeze 1 lemon & get a glass of water lu ke warmish... Drink the pure lemon juice down & then drink the water straight after do not use really cold water!!! then go to bed you have to do it around the same time every night.....

Basically the lemon juice breaks down the fats in your stomach & you pass it through your wee the next day LOL... It does work you just have to stick to it religiously for it to work.

And do not do it for long periods of time

I hope this helps

Hi Joanne!
Thanks for that Big Grin
Hope you and bump are well.
Can anyone remember when Erica's baby is due? I'm sure its this month.

I've been having a bit of a nightmare the last week or so. Been at the Drs or hospital everyday with the boys. Really long winded and complicated but it boils down to Jake having a very odd rash (starts off as small slightly raised red spots which suddenly get loads bigger with lumps under them, then the redness vanishes and they start to look like bruises) and swollen hands, feet and face which came up 5 days after his mmr. Have seen 5 Drs who have never seen a rash like it but put it down to a reaction to a virus (of course they're all adamant its nothing to do with the mmr). I've done a bit of research this weekend and think I've hit the nail on the head now... Acute Hemorrhagic Edema of Infancy! His symptoms match exactly...AND it can be triggered by the measles vaccination! Going armed with printouts to our follow up appt at the hospital tomorrow Big Grin

Anyhow. Hope everyone is well and kiddies too.

Hi Summer

Tyler had something very similar to this a few months ago (long before the MMR jab) which the doctor just said was a childhood rash. I had taken him to a pharmacist and the rash had come up before her eyes, turned to a bruise and then disappeared and she couldn't believe it. It lasted for about a week and then just stopped happening.

I agree that it is really worrying when it is happening as his skin looked awful. One night when I was drying him after his bath his arms went purple and looked like I had battered him! My Dad was with me and he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Once I had put his PJ's on and looked again 10 minutes later there was no sign of it.

I hope that Jake's clears up as quickly as Tyler's did and it is not anything to do with the MMR.

Get better soon Jake xx

Hi Sarah!
It can be triggered by upper respiratory illness too.
Luckily Jake's has pretty much gone now. The bruises are very faint on his legs and the one on his face is barely visible. I think all his swelling has gone down too apart from the left side of his face which is still slightly puffy.
What did your Dr reckon about the bruising? Tyler doesn't bruise really easily normally does he? Was his rash just on his legs and arms and face and ears?

I'll some links up so you can skim through if you want.

hello everyone, hope your all well xxx

All is ok here, baby due 19th Feb but not sure she'll hang on that long tbh! She's measuring big and considering Harry was 8.3oz 2 wks early they are expecting her to be an early one too - Im so not ready for another baby lol but I am starting to get fed up of being pregnant now! She has very long legs (according to scan) and they have been in my ribs for wks now! Its flown by so fast and cant believe in a few wks (hopefully more lol) Ill have a new baby! ARGH!!

Anyway, Eth and Harry are well, we still dont have a date for Harry's op, were at the hosp on the 24th so will have a better idea of how he's doing then but tbh he's still pretty much the same, he's no more tired than he has been and doesnt get tired out/blue easily! He's fab - still not walking but getting where he wants to go by rolling/in the walker. He's such a good little boy, we've been truely blessed - I bet this next one will be a madam!! lol

Anyway best be off I will try to update you all as things progress - I think my email addy is on msn so if anyone wants to mail me I will reply - its easier that way cos I keep forgetting my password on here!

cuddles to all the babies, well toddlers now lol and I hope all mummies are well xxx

Hi Summer

I'm not sure that Tyler's "rash" was as severe looking as shown in the pics in your link. It was just like red welts that went white in the middle then vanished. He does bruise easily normally but this was so severe looking (like his whole arms were blue/black) that it would have been bad even for him. Its interesting that it can occur after upper respiratory illness after Tyler's bronchialitis & pneumonia but it was a good month or so afterwards.

Anyway, hope that you have got some answers now after your latest appointment and that poor Jake is on the mend. The boys look adorable by the way and Daisy looks such a big girl now.

Hi Erica - very belated congratulations on your latest bump. Not long to go now. Hope she gives you a break from the kicking and doesn't grow too big ha ha. It must be very exciting to know you are adding a wee sister for Ethan & Harry to your brood. Take my hat off to you girls with 3 babes so young - I stuggle with one!! Harry sounds adorable, good luck at the hospital on 24th.

Love to all xx

Hi All
Sorry to have been quiet lately, I started a new job which is better hours and pay but i am working 6am-2pm and the early mornings are taking a bit of getting used to! To top it all off I also have another job interview on Wednesday for another job in September but it is quite a distance so I am having to take a day off work but not tell them why!!!!

Liberty is doing well although the whole family had a bad sickness bug last week except me! She is back down to 18lbs 6oz now so I'm hoping she will get her appetite back before the next checkup. She is still not sleeping through Frowner I can't believe some of you are in baby land again I am still exhausted with madam! She keeps us smiling though. She loves Barney, Yo Gabba Gabba, Dora and the Wiggles at the moment-anything with music really.

Anyway, must get ready for bed now-missed you all loads xxxx Baby xx
