Morning girls
Exciting day today as Mabel is off to her ' big school' for a few hours this afternoon and for the next three wednesdays!!! Its only for just under 2 hours but she is so excited!!!
Babydust........sorry you are having trouble with Tyler and his naps.......I had the same thing with Mabel.........I used to push her back and forth in her pram in the kitchen until she'd sleep!
He may be getting over tired aswell which makes it harder for him to settle and go to sleep.
As Babyusa mentioned...he may need a little sleep in the morning and one after lunch. When he is crying for ages and not sleeping have you tried him with another warm milk?
Violet has a pattern of wanting to sleep roughly 2-3 hours after waking in the morning.....so if she wakes at 6.30-7 then she'll deffo be ready for a nap at 09.30-10 ish... ( if I didn't ahve to take the kids to playschool at 09.30 I think she's resist going to sleep and then get overtired but luckily the car journey sends her off )
I think you are right to not allow him to sleep in his cot during the day as it may confuse him and he may think it's proper bed time ( if that makes sense ).maybe that's why he doesn't settle....I know Mabel was just the same and its so demorilising (sp? ) to stand there rocking them for ages only for them to only be alseep for half hour!!

I find that Violet will easily and happily sleep in her buggy if I'm in the garden........especially if I walk her around.
If Tyler keeps crying and won't settle I'd try another warm milk or warm water to soothe him.
If you just leave him to cry as long as he's not crying continuously and getting into a state then I'd leave him for a bit to settle himself........a tired cry is usually one that stops and starts rather than continuous..
What about the car ? Have you got one and could you get him to sleep in that first ( trip round the block )and then bring him in in his car seat for you can get on with things?
Maybe try the ' getting him off to sleep 'process before he starts getting grizzly and over tired....so maybe after 3 hours of being awake in the morning pop him in the buggy ( even if he doesn't appear to be tired ) and have a walk or push him up and down and then see. Violet is really hard to get off to sleep if she is oevr tired.
I know with Mabel I just never recognised when she was tired and that was half the problem!!!
Babyusa....hi hun......I think it was Summer that had the belly button problem with Daisy.........wasn't me I'm afraid so not much use to you!
I know all about the mess hun.....feeding times

.........what a mess........especially now I'm still hand washing bibs and tea towels until our washing machine gets fixed!!!
Right off to make tea.....anyone want one?
Back later
