Thats what I had with the boys but you can't buy them here-I'm not sure what people do. I don't think I can face putting her in the bath anymore!!! She was in her baby tub which is contoured so she doesn't slip in the seat as such but she doesn't want to sit down Frowner

Hi girls

Yes, I've got exactly the same bath seat (except in blue) - had it for years with both dd1 and ds - it's fab and works a treat!!

Baby - what do you mean a GLASS of wine??? Just tip me up with the bottle and leave me to get on with it. By the way - if you're claiming bad mother of the year award then I will happily pass it over to you - I've held the title for years since I let ds fall down the stairs (must be in the genes given my experience last week) from top to bottom when he had just started crawling because I honestly forgot that he could move and went downstairs to answer the telephone!!!

On the bath front, if you can't get hold of such a seat then I would try to get a non-slip bath mat (which you've prob got already) and just run with it. In only a few weeks time she will be so stable that this problem will disappear (hopefully!!!??? - what do I know???)

Take care
Ali

Hi chatterboxes!!!

Can I join the darkened room/cold peas/wine gang ?!!!
Have a headache from hell today as I have a cold..........can only just manage my glass of wine ( sob sob )

Baby......it doesn't take an awful lot to feel guilty and feel like you are a crap Mum.........we've all been there hun!
Violet was crawling on the bathroom floor last week as the kids were in the bath and she did her standing up trick so she could watch them .....I weent into the bedroom quickly and heard a bang and she had fallen back on her head!!! I felt so bad!
Did her brusie come up straight away then or the next day ? Maybe it was from the day before when she bashed her face ??

Don't beat yourself up about it hun......babaies are fab when they start to explore and move about but it only takes a second for them to bump themselves.

If you can't get a seat Baby then the only thing I'd suggest is getting in the bath with her but you'd have to suffer the cold a bit!
I don't know about you ladies but i don't bath Violet every night or even every other night...I know it's good for their routines but I personally don't think she needs one every night ( not until she's bigger and in the garden getting dirty etc etc ) and it can be stressful....................I usually give her a wash with wipes on days I don't bath and then I either hop in with her or plonk her in with the kids and they sit her between their legs while I wash her.
Its back breaking stuff when they are in the bath on their own especially now they fidget!

Peardrop..................Mabel rolled off the bed when she was little too!
I think you'll find 99% of Mums can tell a similar story!
Glad you mentioned that bath seat as we had one for Mabel and I've been looking for one in Mothercare but thought they'd stopped doing them.............obviously I bought it from Argos!!!

Summer..I've got your article in The Mail.............by the way did you take those photo's of the boys ? Love the blanket/bed cover they are lying on.....

Right off to look on MSN!

hello all,

zoe, I know what you mean about it being stressful to bath them everynight. i just do not dare to stop it incase he wakes after an hour thinking he was only going to bed for a nap. - silly i know!

summer, are you going to be warning us when the week comes for you to be in thats life? i don't think i want to start buying that every week as well as take a break, i might get hooked and i just dont have the time!

ali / baby, (zoe too) dont worry, half term over now!

baby, have you tried putting her in the big bath yet? we are thinking of doing that with Lennon soon. we have one of those baths that sits high up on the big bath and he has started trying to climb out now. the bath is the only time he tries anything like that, (he is not attempting to crawl or pull up on furnature, or move in any way for that matter) i think it is the lack of nappy in the bath.

ali, glad the conversion is comming along. when you have the musical beds at weekends you should tell them you are going to make it even more fun (and pretend you are camping) by having them in sleeping bags - less beds to change as they just take it with them to the next room!

peardrop, do you put that seet into the big bath? or a baby bath? or either? think i may have to invest in one myself!
hope the scan goes well on the 8th!

Does anyones little munchkin move a lot when in bed? when he was very little Lennon used to rotate 180 degrees and end up upside down (good job he was in a grow bag as feet to foot position was useless). when he go a bit bigger he started to bang his head on the sides of the cot and it would wake him up so i rolled up blankets and tucked them in at the sides. now he is older he pulls them out and often ends up with them wrapped around his head so i have removed them but this means we are back to head banging. this morning i went in to him early as he was crying and his neck was at a funny angle and his head squashed against the bars. have any of you got any more suggestions? i am running out of ideas.

well i did the race for life yesterday at heaton park. it was fantastic (such a lovely atmosphere), but so sad to read the backs of everybodys tops (especially when they involve the death of children). it was a great day for it too as trhe weather was ace, trouble is i am a tad burned today as i was in sun for about 6 or 7 hours solid!

anyway, at least i am finally all caught up. Speak soon.

Marie

Hi Mosh

We had the same problem with Tyler and he was waking loads of times a night banging into the bars or getting stuck in an awkward position. We bought him a Safe T Sleep over a month ago and he has slept through the night every night since. We are in New Zealand but I have pasted a link to where they are sold in the UK. We paid $100 which was a bit of a shock to the system, but was definately worth every cent.

Hope it helps

Hi girls

Hooray, hooray, hooray - we love school, we love school!! (although the having to get up bit this morning was a bit of a shock to the system!!) Well, I have delivered the little darlings back to their educational establishment and come home, put the baby down for a nap and had a well deserved QUIET cup of tea!!! Only six weeks to go and we get to do it all over again - ho hum Wink Wink

Hope you guys are all ok. Marie (well done on the Race for life btw!!) - love the camping idea - my dd and ds will defo go for it coz they have these blow up beds which they love so will give it a whirl. Not sure how dss will take to it, but it's worth a shot.

On the sleeping front, Darcey always ends up a different way from the one in which she started (love that web site Sarah - not come across that one before and haven't seen that babywrap thingy before either - not certain how D would take to it now coz she likes to sleep on her side and play with her toys when she wakes up but it's defo a good idea). She sometimes bangs her head on the bars but now that she is more mobile, that seems to not be such an issue with her.

Hi Zoe - I would love not to bath D every night, but she has sooooo much hair that if I don't wash it and comb it out each day it ends up completely matted. Fortunately she really loves "splash splash" and in her seat is contained for now!!

Hope all goes ok for your scan Peardrop and hope you're ok. I was reading your posts on your preggie thread and just wanted to say that we are all here for you too hun (((hugs))). It's hard work being preg when you have a little one too and Alfie is still only a baby, so don't be too hard on yourself.

Hi Summer - I agree with Marie - when do we need to run out and get our trashy mags??? (I have to admit to being a closet scandal sheet reader too!)

Hope everyone else is ok - Autumn where are you and how are things going?? Any news yet???

Be in touch soon.
Ali

Hi girls

Mosh hun.....sorry I meant to do a personal reply to you last time as you made me laugh when you said you were a closet Take a Break fan !!! tee hee

The bit that always makes me laugh is the ' Top tips' page where people write in with their clever ideas ( I use the word ' clever' very very loosely ) and I never forget the lady who said she didn't want to chuck out her old stilettos so she had a genius idea and decided to put it in her garden and plant flowers in it!!! ha ha ha Could just imagine a really horrible tatty old white stiletto in someones garden and the lady thinking how creative she was!! Big Grin
OUTRAGEOUS!!!

Oh Mosh about the head banging at night well, Violet does that all the time!! I put her right at the bottom of the bed and she always ends up right at the other end all scrunched up and uncomfortable looking and it wakes her up too.
We did have her in grobags but she got abit caught up in them too so she has a duvet at the moment but think I will try her in her grobag again.

Make the most of Lennon not moving as once he does you'll be running about all over the place!
Just had to buy more safety gates for the stairs as Violet is crawling all over the place......she's built up quite a speed too!

Well done on the Race for life too xxx

Peardrop.....just scrolled back to page 28 to catch up and I can now see your beautiful bump!!! You look really slim aswell hun.......you must have lost the baby weight from last time.........thought you said you had loads to lose?? You look fab! Nice bum too! Big Grin
Can't believe you show as much too!!! The bump is looking high so I reckon you have a girl in there!!!!
What size is Alfie in at the moment hun as I have a few pairs of Next denim shorts size 9-12mths and 12-18mths if you want them? If not anyone else ( Mosh/Autumn? )is welcome to them......let me know girls and I will post them to you ( leave your address on MSN )

Babydust...how are you liking life in NZ ?

Ali hun......yipeeeeeee back to normality!!!!
Is Darcey crawling yet ( sorry you have probably said )
Hope the camping theme works hun!

Well Violet is deffo cutting two front teeth.....can se ethe little dents in the gums and felt the tooth under the gums earlier so that might explain why she has been waking up alot and quite grizzly............she's going to look really cute with more teeth!

Right off now

Back later

Sarah, that looks fab! what do you tend to do when it is warm? as it looks like it might get a little hot if the weather is warm. Lennon is only in a vest at the mo with a tiny fleece blanket. (or is winter over there at the minute!?!)

ali, had not thought about the lying on side aspect. Lennon always turns straight onto his side and puts his thumb in. He might not be able to get to it properly in that!

zoe, i dont actually read those pages anymore, just the stories but yes when i was preggies i read every page and did every puzzle (i even sent in three or four but never won. that video is fantastic. i am going to make dave come up and watch it!

so if we are all finally admitting to reading trashy mags, did anybody buy take a break this week? i was in floods of tears reading about jasmin and her poorly heart! it was especially mean that the title was dont take my jasmin yet at the end she had already died.

anyway, bath for me now, not sure if i might be in for a bad night. lennon is not in he grow bag as it is so hot and has already woken twice! dont normally hear a peep from him.

OMG Zoe that is so cute!!! She is absolutely adorable.

Well Liberty's black eye is still there and to top it all off she had her 9month check this morning-luckily the doctor laughed and said it was normal at this age. She's doing everything she should and more so thats great too. Her umbilical hernia is still there but very small now. The next new worry is that she has a labial lesion which means-excuse any gory details that part of her inner labia are a bit stuck together ( Eeker makes me cross my legs just thinking about it) so they want to treat her by using an estrogen cream to unstick them. She has to go back in 3 weeks. Anyway, I popped off to Walmart to get her prescription and came out $95 dollars worse off $95 FOR ONE TUBE OF CREAM that isn't even FDA approved for use in babies even though it is apparently commonly used!!!!!! Me and DH are in shock at the price-not at her condition which is apparently minor and could possibly resolve itself when she is older and her body starts to produce its own estrogen. That has got to be one thing I hate here-the cost of healthcare.

Anyway back to the whole bath thing, DH had his bath with her last night and we managed to get a bath seat from ebay so hopefully will receive that soon-she needs to be bathed most days because of the heat and humidity here and the way she smears food in her hair!!!!

Mosh
Liberty crawls all round her cot but it is a bit bigger than a UK crib which I think helps-we still have the cot bumper on-when are you supposed to remove them? she is a belly sleeper and has been since she was able to flip over-when she wakes in the night she stands up and tries to poke me through the bars in her cot!!! I dread to think what would happen if we tried to strap her into one of those things you've got Babydust-she is far to feisty for that!!

Ali-the camping/sleeping bag idea sounds great-and thanks for rubbing it in that your kids are back at school-mine are off until about the 2nd or 3rd week in August Frowner so I will need wine and peas on tap until then!!!!

Ah yes, Baby, but by the time yours go back to school we will just have started the summer hols so what goes around comes around!! Big Grin

$95 for a tube of cream - holy moses that's expensive!! We're really lucky here - not that we appreciate it most of the time!! Hope Liberty is feeling more comfortable soon (she probably hasn't even noticed!!) and great news about her 9mth check.

Hi Zoe - the movie is just sooooo gorgeous!! What a clever little girlie! Darcey isn't crawling yet although she is so close that it's almost painful watching her efforts. She gets a bit closer every day. At the beginning of last weekend, if she ended up on her tummy she struggled to sit up again, but now she has that completely licked and is straight up. She can move quite a long way though, even though it's not conventional crawling, and when she gets close enough to something solid, she immediately tries to pull up so I guess it won't be long.

Poor Lennon, Marie. Where do you live coz to be honest it's cold here in Bedfordshire. Darcey was just in a sleepsuit and growbag last night, but tonight we are back in a vest as well (maybe it's just my old bones???)

Well girls, have a good evening and talk soon.

baby, sorry to hear that about liberty - $95 what is that in £ and do you get to claim that sort of thing on insurance? when will you know if it has sorted itself out? how old would she have to be?

Lennon is in a cot bed so i am not sure if it would be smaller. the trouble is that he cannot crawl, or move of his own accord much at all so he gets himself stuck. i do think it will be a resolvable problem as soon as he can control his own movement - which hopefully will not be too long. and that makes me think it is not work spending too much money!

ali, we are up in manchester and it is rediculously humid! we have slept with the fan on (out of the covers) for the last two nights, and wished we had all night the night before. it must be the different area as i am sure even old bones would feel this heat.

anyway, off to watch BB!

Just thought i would be the first to mention that topic!

Hey girls you're too chatty and I can't keep up!

Marie, Daisy was like that too, and even though shes now in a bed she still does the same thing. If it didn't have a guard rail she'd be on the floor within half an hour of going to bed. Every night we can hear her bashing her head on the wall! Luckily its only a partition wall so she doesn't even notice... otherwise she'd either need a crash helmet in bed or a padded wall!! Big Grin
Tom's op will be next year as they like them to be bigger so things are a little less fiddly and also because of the anaesthetic I guess. They don't like to operate on little babes if they can help it. His hypospadias is quite severe I think (will find out on Weds as have got appt with the specialist then) so it will be an incredibly intricate op.

Zoe... I can't see the vid as my computer says I need to update something Frowner Will try again after this. Yes those were my pics.. the ones the photographer took in the same sort of position weren't as good Razzer The one of Tom when he was tiny was one that a nurse took with the scbu camera. The caption in the paper said "after the birth". They were actually nearly 4 weeks old in that pic Roll Eyes

Peardrop... is it your scan this week? Have you decided what to do about finding out if its blue or pink? I think if you really want to know then dh should understand and let you find out. You're the one who has to carry the babe and give birth and what-have-you. My dh wouldn't have stood a chance if he'd disagreed with finding out Big Grin I know some people like the surprise but it really helped me see the baby as a real little person. Its a surprise whenever you find out anyway... whether its sooner or later.

That bath thing looks great. Will definately be getting the boys a couple so they can bathe together. Have to admit Zoe I actually only bath the boys once a week, twice if they're lucky, and its never before bed... normally mid morning. Daisy has one every other day and its in the morning too.
Ohh just looked at your pic Peardrop. You look fantastic!
A nice couple expecting twins crossed the road to ask me about the buggy today and I was quite jealous of her lovely bump. Feeling broody already. How can I be??? Must be completely mad. Especially as when I actually have a bump I feel knackered and crappy and can't wait for it all to be over!!

Baby... glad Liberty is doing well. Hope the cream sorts things out... It must be a very in depth check they do as Daisy's 8 month check wouldn't have picked up anything like that. Or had you noticed something looked odd yourself?
Daisy has always been a terror in the bath and only the other day banged her head and got a black eye. She then managed to fall onto the corner of her bed and got the same eye, so it wasn't pretty for a while. Was really worried about sending her to nursery in case they wondered how she'd done it!

Hey Ali!
Thank you for the lovely comment on the Mail website Smiler

BB just starting so am off now medears. Hope everyone else is ok xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
