Hi

I've love to hear from anyone that has had a breech baby turned by ECV. I'm booked into have one on Friday as my baby is breech.

Obviously feeling a little scared but after discussing the risks with the consultant today feel it's worth a try before I book in for a planned caesarean.

Thanks, Paula

Hi Paula,
How did it go? I had one at 37 weeks which unfortunately didn't work, but we think that was because my lo had a minimal amount of fluid around her. I felt very shaky afterwards though - hope you felt better than I did regardless of the outcome.

Hi Pele

Unfortunately baby would only go so far and then just kept turning back again - little monkey!! So, caesarean booked for next Tues. I must admit it was painful and same as you, I felt very shaky and quite traumatised by it all to be honest. DH didn't like watching one little bit - we both couldn't believe the force the Dr used to try and turn him/her.

Felt fine the next day - am so excited now that we'll get to our baby next week.

Enjoy the sunshine

Take care, Paula x

Hi Paula,
Sorry it didn't work out for you. We were suprised at the force the doctor used too, but she explained that she had to push the baby up out of the pelvic area before she could try to turn it. Same happened with us though - lo partally turned but not enough to flip around properly.
My mum had one with me and said it was exactly the same back then (30 odd years ago). Fortunately for her it worked.
Glad you're feeling fine now. We think it was related to the ECV, but I got a UTI a couple of days after and had a rotten last week of pregnancy ending in an emergency c-sect (we didn't book a date as we were going for a natural breech birth).
Anyway, good luck on Tuesday. I don't know if it's your first, but you can't beat that feeling of being handed your bubba the for first time. [Smiler]
Take care

Hi there, I'm sorry to butt in like this but I have heard and my friend did this, that I chiropractor has a special thing that they can do to help turn your baby! It would be worth a try, especially if you didn't want a cesarian. At any rate good luck and I hope all goes well with you, and new baby!
