Lots of tips on this site about holidays, which mention using formula out of cartons. Obviously the baby isn't going to drink the formula straight from the carton, so it will need to be poured into a bottle.
So I therefore need to sterilise bottles to pack in the bag too - but my question is... how long does an empty sterilised bottle last until it is not sterile any more?
Please help! I have looked on websites and in books and nowhere seems to answer this question.
Thank you

hi there, how old is your little one? you can buy steri bags that you pop your bottle in put in microwave then keep it sealed, i'm sure they last 4 hours but depending on age of baby you could stretch that out a bit, or if very lond journey stop when getting close to feeding at petrol station or resturant and ask them to pop in the microwave for you?

What I tended to do was put boiled water in the bottles before the journey and tip out and replace with actual cartons. THe steri bottles you can get from tesco etc and they are so useful for long journeys. I used a mixture of them and normal bottles when Lauren and I went to Disney earlier this year. We drove to Paris. I have been told that bottles stay sterile with boiled water in for 24 hours. Is that what you were all told? When my niece was teeny my sis came to see my place in spain and she used milton tablets with mineral water to sterilise equipment. This was on hols. Obviously no good for a journey.
