Hi ladies

I know there are a few of us on the Pregnancy thread that are about to graduate so thought I would set up our joint Oct & Nov message board.

Looking forward to sharing the sleepless nights, etc with all of you.

Lozzie

How cool! Thanks Lozzie. It's so weird to be posting on a parenting thread after months on the TTC and pregnant boards. Can't wait to get to know all the Nov mums and keep up to date with the Oct girls too.

Bye for now,

Love Maz and Michael xxx

Hi

Thanks for doing the chart Lozzie....Michael was actually born on 12 October so please can you change it?

Thanks and sorry to be a pain!

DH fed Michael at 11 last night with some milk I expressed so I went to bed at 8 and didn't have to get up to feed til 5.30. It was bliss and definitely the longest I've slept without having to get up to feed or wee in months!

Hope you're all well....better go see my little man!

Love Maz xxx

Hi Fellow Mummies

I hope you are all doing OK and babies are behaving themselves.

Sorry i haven't posted in a while, i don't know where the last 2 weeks have gone!

My little man is doing great and has changed so much in such a short space of time. After dropping from 8lb 6oz to 7lb 7oz, I am pleased to report he is now 7lb 13oz Smiler

He has had a bit of a sticky eye for the last few days but the midwife said there is nothing to worry about although she has taken a swab just in case.

Other than feeding, changing and bathing we haven't been up to much really just trying to get the routine sorted so i can actually do a bit of housework (albeit limited due to stomach muscles parting) but i think we are getting there. We went out for the first time on our own (in the car) yesterday to see my work collegues which was nice and he was as good as gold, well until I overslept this morning and didn't feed him till gone 4am by which time he was raring to go with his bright blue eyes peering up at me saying 'Mummy i'm not tired lets play'. Managed to get him back to sleep after an hour but had a grumpy DH this morning because of it ... oh well it will be nice for him to realise how i feel by lunchtime each day!! Big Grin

I'm still going with the breastfeeding although I am only feeding from one side each feed and then topping up with formula. I did try both sides each feed but i found he was latched on for hours again and still needed topping up, so i went back to one side and top up which he is happy with. Am hoping to hire an electronic breast pump to see if i can get more milk through so DH can do more of the feeding side over the weekend.

Anyway, i thought i had better check in.

Take care

Becky + Callum (15 days old!!)
xx

Hiya!

I've finally made it over to the parenting thread, Benjamin Stephen was born 15th November at 06:00 weighing 8lb 5oz! I was in labour for just over 4hrs after being induced, ended up with a lot of stitches, loosing quite a bit of blood & now anemic so on some medication for that at the moment.

Thanks for doing the charts Lozzie, hopefully you'll be here joining us soon!

Its amazing just having Ben home now, I can't believe it. I've had a couple of crying sessions when I got upset about not being able to get Ben to latch on properly for a feed but thankfully my mam stayed over the first night we came home so she was here to help & then I just burst out in tears yesterday at mams before we came home.

The midwife came yesterday & checked us both over. Ben has slight jaundice but shes not concerned about that at the moment & he also has a clicky left hip so he is going for a scan in about 6 weeks time to make sure things are developing ok - apart from that he is doing good.

I've been getting some tightening in my chest when I was standing up, my ankles & feet were really badly swollen yesterday aswell & the midwife was slightly concerned so has told me to keep an eye on the pain & call a doctor or ambulance if I feel I need to - I feel ok this morning although still have the swollen ankles/feet.

Ben is breast feeding well at the moment, esp now the midwife showed me a different way of holding him yesterday, its so much more comfy & he just goes on pretty much straight away so I'm really pleased with that now. I think my milk is starting to come in now, my boobs are getting huge & a bit harder too so we'll see how I manage to cope with BF then. Thanks for the link Baby usa I'll pop & have a look at that shortly.

Both of my babies are fast asleep at the moment, OH has been great & does pretty much most of the nappy changes & I do the feeds so he is getting to bond aswell, I don't want him to miss out/feel left out or anything esp with me breast feeding at the moment.

Anyway I best get going, I hear little squeaker making cute noises & I need to do a load of washing & take a bath before the mw comes out again today - I wish they would give a time when they are going to visit & not just turn up!

Hope you are all well & more of you November people come across soon!

Michelle xx

Hi ladies

Glad you like the chart - I have just been editing the one at the top for now. It won't be changing once they are here!

I can see this thread is going to be as important as the TTC and pregnancy ones have been.

Michelle - don't be stressing about the midwife visits. I think they don't give u a time on purpose! My midwife said to me "if i come to your houses and they look all clean I'll start to worry!" I suppose it indicates that you might be getting stressed out or not sleeping coz of housework rather than the nice things like feeding/ bonding with the baby.

Anyway can't wait to pop on here soon. Just waiting to hear Scal's news now!

Hi girls, hope you are all ok.

Michelle, you need to take it easy girl! If you have a big loss like that its your bodies way of telling you to slow down.

Had a really bad night with Ellie last night. Got really pissed off with David at 3am as all I got from him was "i have to get up at 6.30 for work!" At this point I had had no sleep for 19 hours and was at the end oh my tether. He did get up though and I managed to sleep until 6.40 when she woke for her next feed, then had another 3 hours from 9-12 so feeling more human now. I am absolutely dreading tonight though as the colic seems to have moved to the early hours. Just going to ring docs and see if I can get her a prescription.

Anyway, hope we are all ok and not too sleep deprived!!!
