jsut time for a quick post to say thanks mari for the card!! Really sweet of you and I've been meaning to post since it arrived a few days ago!!!

DH goes back to work tomorrow so things are going to be hectic but we'll manage somehow. Eilidh's now at the age where she's really starting to test our boundaries - not sure if it's just her age though as she does seem to have become much naughtier since Lochlan arrived!!! Wink What is everyone doing about discipline? The naughty step??? DH lightly smacked Eilidh teh other day and I think I was more shocked than she was - I had a right go at him about it as I wasn't happy about her being smacked especially as we hadn't even discussed it Frowner

Laura thinking of you hun and hope all is ok.

Loocy xx

Hello!
I am here... just don't get on much these days. The boys have decided to stop napping in the morning (was their only nap of the day!) so I just don't have a spare moment any more! Also... got the mil here and shes starting to drive me crazy. 3.5 wks down, 5.5 to go!!!!! Mad
Boys ok... starting to worry about Tom's lack of understanding though. Can ask Jake to do anything and its done, and knows all the parts of his body etc but Tom can't even get the hang of where his nose is and still makes no effort to say anything at all.
Got 2 smelly bottoms to sort out now.
Had a good appt with the growth guy in London and have also seen our local endo in Southampton and hes great so we're sticking with him for now. Seeing him again in 6 mths along with the professor of genetics to see how Tom's growth has been (it has picked up a little in the last 3.5 months so holding off on GHT for now. Hes now 17lbs 3oz and 72cm tall. Jake is 24lbs and 80cm). Still waiting for all genetic results to come through. Have had loads od appts recently.. don't think I updated on Tom's hearing. Fluid still the same in his ears but hes reacting almost normally to sounds so audiologist just said she'd see him again in 6 months and hopwfully as he grows and his tubes get bigger it'll all drain and to expect his hearing to be up and down. Not sure at which point they decide that his speech is delayed but seeing his cons soonish so will have it out with him.
Sorry if thats all a jumble.
Loocy... hope all going really well.
Laura... how are you doing sweetie?
Sorry, got to dash, got 2 boys fighting around my ankles.
love to everyone xxxxxxxxx

Summer yay to tom's walking!! Pleased to hear he's making progress you must be excited!! But sorry to hear his hearing is still worrying you. Have you tried doing baby sign and teaching him some signing words? That might help him communicate til he can hear better???

Well things here are busy busy busy. Summer I don't know how you are doing it wiht your MIL staying for so long!!!! My mum was here for a week as DH was away for a few days and bless her she was so helpful but was doing my head in after a few days!!!!! Anyway she's away now so we're flying solo again - today has been a miserable day outside so we've been stuck inside all day - don't know about yours but Eilidh goes stir crazy when she's stuck indoors all day!!!

I think I'm just getting used to a complete lack of sleep - second time around you just don't really have time to think about how tired you are!!! Anyway Lochlan had his first bottle of formula last night - nearly broke my heart but he feeds and feeds and feeds all evening from about 8 til 11 and completely drains me - last night he was still hungry at 1am and i just needed to get some sleep so bunged a bottle in his mouth Frowner He only had 2oz but it seemed to work and he went off for a few hours. so have decided it's probably the way forward from now on and am going to give him a bottle around 11pm every night now. He's also up to 10lb 7oz already, only 3 weeks in!!!

god, best go have just discovered Eilidh playing with the loo brush YUK!!! Eeker Roll Eyes

Loocy xx

Oh no!... Tom has a thing for the loo brush too Mad Roll Eyes
The MIL and dh are away tonight... she went with him off to work down in Devon today. I've had a hellava day... carted Jake (and the other 2!) to the doctors twice. The 2nd time was because when he woke up from his nap after lunch he had bright bright bright red cheeks with lumps on them and red lumps all over his arms and legs. By the time we saw the nurse though at 5.30 most of it had calmed down but from what she could see left on his legs she said it was most likely an allergic reaction to something. I racked my brains and couldn't think of what the hell it could be.... I then walked down to mum's to give the kids tea there, and en route gave the boys a banana. 10 mins after arriving at mum's his arms and legs were even more shocking than before! After googling this eve I'm panicking about him having developed a banana allergy... can be linked with latex allergy. Am going to see what happens if I give him some more in the morning. Watch this space Confused
Right, must get to bed seeing as I'll be up with the 2 of them all night (they take it it turns. I'll have just hopped back into bed after feeding Tom at 3.30am when Jake will wake for about the 3rd time (as well as errupting in hives every so often he also has a horrid cold/cough AND his eye teeth are all poking through (making 16 in total now))).
Night night! xxxxxx

PS... fingers crossed for a bfp soon Sam!

Hi Girls!

Have been reading on and off but never seen to have time to post. Mega busy at work and that's when I usually come on!!!

Just wanted to say ((hugs)) to Summer. You sound like you really have your hands full at the mo. I cannot grasp the concept of living with MIL for 9 weeks!!!!!!!!!!! PoorJake and his rash - hope you find out what it is soon! Congrats to Tom on the walking!!! K is still not there yet and is doing a worrying knee clicking thing so have an orthopaedic cons appt on 12th August. See what he says. Also have ENT cons appt on the 18th Aug but might have to put that back as he wants her to see audiology before him and they are behind with appts. I'm worried about K's lack of articulation. She communicates and understands well and babbles loads but doesn't really articulate words. See what they say too. Hope it's just the glue ear that will sort itself out. Hope you get some reassurance from somewhere for Tom's communication. It must be hard not to compare them - they do say that every child is different and with all your other worries it must be v difficult!

Loocy - hope you doing ok - the pics are gorgeous. He is just lovely!!!! Hope Eilidh is looing after you both!! he he he

Hi Mari! How are you getting on these days?

Sam! Hope you get your BFP soon (although that will be number 5!! OMG)

VIcky - any news from you?

Jo - hope you doing ok hun. Are you getting any support? Thinking of you!

Anita - hope you ok too hun. think about you lots.

Generally I'm ok and although I still think about it every day it's getting easier - although I got my scan appt through last week and had the Health visitor congratulate me when she came to see K last week! It never ceases to amaze me about the lack of communication. I was so upset about the appt. as I had asked them when I was discharged if I needed to cancel it! They were apologetic but its not good enough! Plus it was meant to be the dating scan and the appointment time I would have been 17 weeks!!!! Grrr. bloody NHS! Mad

anyway - gotta dash. Love to all and thanks for all your well wishes!

Lx

Just a mega quickie!
Its not bananas... not today anyway! Hes shared 2 with Tom today and been fine, so its a mystery!

Oh Laura Frowner I had that too.. I actually got my 20 week scan appt through about 4 days after my ERPC, even though I'd been told everything would be cancelled etc.
And I do hope the HV was apologetic and sympathetic enough after such a bloody cock up!

Lots of love xxxxxxx

Oh and meant to say... Jake chats for England and does try to say words when you ask him to but doesn't pronounce them that well most of the time. He sounds Chinese or Swedish when hes babbling away Big Grin I don't think you need to worry too much at this stage Laura. Sounds like shes doing pretty well

Grr just lost a long post and don't know what I did...

Laura so pleased to hear from you and glad you are getting there even if teh NHS is making it difficult for you.

As for language, like summer says they are all at such different stages. One of Eilidh's friends can say her name, Megan, when she looks in the mirror and can say 'it's raining'. Amazing eh - Eilidh doesn't even recognise herself in the mirror yet!!! When I had worries about Eilidh's babbling when she was about 9 months, my HV told me not to worry about i til she was at least 2 as that is a big language milestone so Laura I'm sure that katie will catch up soon!!!

Mind you, her favourite word at the minute, apart from daddy of course, is 'cuddles' - it's so cute as she comes up to us and hugs our legs and says 'duddles' or gives Lochlan a big hug and says 'duddles'. breaks my heart!!!!!

BTW we got the Phil and Ted in the end and so far it's fab - will let you know how we get on with it as Lochlan grows!!!

hope everyone else is doing well - summer I'd be lost if Eilidh were allergic to bananas as she gets them all the time!!! We seem to be out of our latest picky phase for a while and back to eating TONS!!!

love to everyone
